Master Of None
Chapter 2914. Leaving It Be
"I think it’s best that we just carry the wind elemental plane with us. Our goal is the outer area of the elemental plane, right? So we can leave it there where it won’t harm anything. We can even leave it sealed, right?" This felt like abandoning it, but Remey had a point.
"I think you are right, we can let it rest there. The wind mana inside is very violent and it caused so much damage. Whatever origin being did this might have their reasons, but it did not help at all." While Walker wished he could see more reasoning, this was still the case.
Whatever member of the origin race dropped this wind elemental plane here to become part of the overall wind elemental plane had failed. They had not only risked an important race being destroyed, they had also disrupted the balance in this area of the wind elemental plane.
While it might have been temporary and the plane would have adjusted, it was still not right in his eyes. Remey and Su felt the same way while they looked at the progressing trees and newly hatched caterpillars eating at leaves and growing visibly with each bite.
They knew this race was delicate because of their extremely fast lifespan, and they also understood the value. So they were glad that they could help but also hopeful that situations like this could be avoided in the future. Especially if they had the chance to halt these things from occurring.
"Then let’s move." Su stretched showing that she was not wearing her strongest armor, she was looking for a little fight too. Walker could tell by her actions and the glint in her eye that she wished to test herself more. See where the her of today stood.
Before they could move though, several hidden breeze butterflies appeared again, they all appeared younger than those that had previously spoken to them in thanks. "We have a gift!"
"A gift!"
"It’s good to grow!"
"It’s tasty!"
The plop of a single sprout held in wind ore and other materials appeared in front of them, dropped from the hidden wind currents the butterflies used.
"Thank you for this gift, we are glad you all can keep your home and we will try to make sure we bring this dangerous thing with us away from you." Su smiled with brilliance as the butterflies hid away again, Walker and Remey could only watch as she handed Walker the small sprout.
’Peaceful breeze willow sprout
This is a tree rarely able to grow without the unique care of the hidden breeze butterfly race. They are only able to grow within hidden slip streams and most beings within the wind elemental plane may never see one flower in their lives regardless of their strength.
They can not be grown unless various rare wind ores, herbs, and other wind affinity materials are nested around their roots when they are sprouting. This allows for the soft and nurturing wind mana they need to nourish their roots before they take root within the wind mana of an area itself.
To grow this within an area with natural wind elemental runes would be ideal. The flowers from this willow will one day be able to be crafted in to temporary items that excuse exceedingly powerful wind elemental shields so that those possessing them can safely travel through dangerous wind affinity terrain...’
The challenge of growing this single sprout seemed well beyond the norm. However, Walker had a multi dimensional storage that was entirely wind affinity. Perfect for storing this sprout until he got back to Genesis and could hand it over to an expert.
The fact that it was something that could be harvested for protective equipment meant all the more to them too. They knew that Walker’s appraisal said that it would be a temporary equipment, but that was still fine. It just meant that each one carries more value for anyone that may need it.
It also registered in their minds that something made from this tree’s leaves would be able to protect others who desired to travel within places just like or even as the wind elemental planes. It would be ideal for the weaker ambassadors or explorers.
Feeling that the pressure had settled even more, Walker stood up and found that he sensed a single wind current bringing them away from the denser wind mana area that they were in now. He felt like it might be another gift of sorts but didn’t speak out about it. Instead, he gathered some wind mana and held on to Su and Remey who took the lead.
They were usually not the ones carrying Walker, but in his weakened state, they knew it would be easier in this case. Plus, they knew that whatever they were doing, they were strong enough to move faster right this second. The wind buffs they had and the wind current was ideal for the speedy travel they needed.
This made them rush through certain areas of the wind elemental plane instead of enjoying the scenery, but it was to be expected. Until Walker could get the spatial mana to a high understanding and improve teleportation, they would need to put more effort in to traveling. They also preferred to keep their focus right now.
They didn’t want Walker stressed out more than he needed to be when they had come so much closer to the goal that they had.
While traveling with the wind current assisting them, Walker noticed the slight changes as wind mana got pulled away from the current. It was bleeding out and becoming weaker and weaker. A perfect sign that they were approaching the edge of the wind elemental plane as they wished. But experiencing that change was very informative.
It was the natural dissipation of a main wind current, it could even be called a vein if compared to something alive. This made it seem like the different things feeding on the wind mana were more like parts of a body growing because the wind mana traveled this certain way.
It was part of the overall nature of the wind elemental plane and how the mana itself was only stronger in the center because of untold years of condensing and purifying there. But even that dense and pure wind mana would radiate outwards causing changes to the entire wind elemental plane before the currents of wind changed and returned in different forms. It was a cycle on a larger scale than the world in a way.
Yet, it was a simpler scale. A simpler cycle.
"This is as far as we can push, the wind is pulling back now." Su cut them from the wind current and they found themselves in a very stagnant air. One that was very slow moving almost like it was stuck. But that was what would come of the bend and turn of a strong wind current like that. Places where weaker wind mana was stuck and did not flow fast enough to return to the flow easily or quickly.
"We are exactly where we need to be. Look at the area, no monsters, no plants, and no race living here." Walker intended to release the violent wind elemental plane that they had found further away in the open area where the elemental planes were sealed and left.
"This palace is perfect though, it will have to acclimate to slower and weaker wind before it becomes part of the entire wind elemental plane, right?" Seeing that Remey was spot on and Walker was smirking, they moved to hold his back as he waved a hand and the pressure all around them grew.
The shocking change in space made their skin crawl, it was hard to deal with the pressure and presence of space itself being bent and altered, yet, it moved easily. Walker didn’t even manipulate the space mana the same way, he found that here where manas were weaker, it settled and even welcomed the denser wind mana. Like it was finding something that it could nourish.
When the sealed space broke open, the violent wind manas cut through and forced the stagnant wind mana to move. It caused its own form of destruction, but directed at the ways the wind mana here moved slowly.
"It isn’t destroying anything, not even itself. And now there’s a violent, windy place for something to call home later." While this would never be a palace Walker could seal or separate again, he didn’t mind. He felt that it was better to help the wind elemental plane expand than keep the pressure on himself and carry something he was not prepared to manipulate just yet with him.
He even found himself a little more enlightened and ended up seeing how the manas interacted and how Su and Remey were able to train their resistance to violent wind mana here. It had its benefits to let this go.
