Chapter 349: Chapter 351: A Man Carrying a Ghost

The man hefted the chair, preparing to smash it down.

Su Nian was completely unafraid. She gave him a cold glance and turned to leave.

’That Blind Chen has some skill, but it’s obvious he’s mainly in it for the money.’

’And as for this man in front of her, all bark and no bite, Su Nian could tell he didn’t have much longer to live.’

Seeing him hoist the chair, Su Nian scoffed and turned to walk away.

But perhaps it was Su Nian’s smirk that wounded the man’s fragile pride. He threw all caution to the wind, raising the chair and bringing it crashing down.

Though he wasn’t particularly muscular, a full-force blow from a grown man was bound to cause serious injury.

The onlookers grew worried. A few even turned their faces away, as if they couldn’t bear to watch the bloody scene that was about to unfold.

But to everyone’s shock, Su Nian made her move.

She spun around and kicked out. The movement was clean and efficient, yet possessed an indescribable grace.

A footprint was clearly imprinted on the man’s abdomen. An instant later, the force of the blow sent him flying backward.

"How ridiculous."

Su Nian lifted her chin slightly, her gaze heavy as she looked at him, her tone icy.

Then she turned and left.

She left the onlookers behind, their eyes wide and jaws agape.

Su Nian headed for the roof. ’Since all three people fell from the rooftop, there must be some clues left behind up there.’

This was an office building, and the tenants on the top floor were either rich or powerful.

Even though there had been incidents here, the employees still went about their work, albeit cautiously.

Su Nian took the elevator, then walked up a flight of stairs, arriving at a rooftop terrace.

The perimeter of the rooftop had been sealed off. Workers were currently raising the height of the safety barrier.

When the foreman in charge saw Su Nian suddenly appear, he frowned and barked at her.

"Get down from here! This is a construction site, authorized personnel only! Can’t you read the sign?"

Su Nian glanced around, her eyes landing on the heavyset, middle-aged man in the yellow hard hat.

Or to be more precise, on his back.

Su Nian saw three shadows stacked on his back.

Pressed against his back was a little girl. Her skull was shattered and covered in blood, but her eyes were closed and her lips were slightly parted, as if she were sleeping peacefully.

And on this little girl’s back was a middle-aged male ghost.

His entire body looked as if it had been smashed to a pulp. He was a bloody mess, with flesh and gore exposed, and one of his eyeballs was dangling grotesquely from its socket.

Gory and grotesque...

On the middle-aged man’s back was yet another ghostly figure, this one a scrawny old woman.

Her body was a mass of broken bones. Her limp limbs clung to the male ghost’s body as she moaned incessantly.

"It hurts~ It hurts so much~"

A living person was carrying three gruesome, terrifying apparitions on his back.

Seeing that Su Nian wasn’t moving and was just staring blankly at him, the heavyset foreman was momentarily unsure of what to do.

The main reason was that he hadn’t paid attention before, but now he noticed Su Nian’s clothes. She was clearly from a rich and powerful family.

Then he remembered the rumors about people always jumping from this rooftop, and a jolt of alarm went through him.

He quickly made a phone call to tell his boss to come up.

He walked over, planning to block Su Nian’s path for the time being.

He truly didn’t understand why this young woman was staring at him. He was self-aware enough to know it wasn’t for his looks.

At this point, he suspected that Su Nian might be planning to jump, too.

The boss who received the call rushed over.

’There absolutely cannot be another incident on this roof!’

Su Nian tilted her head, her eyes locking with the middle-aged male ghost’s.

The ghost, however, showed no reaction. Su Nian’s tone was indifferent as her gaze shifted back to the heavyset foreman.

"Don’t you... feel that it’s heavy?"

"Huh?"

The foreman was completely baffled.

But luckily, his boss arrived.

This boss was a sharp man. He didn’t know Su Nian, but he recognized her clothes.

He especially noticed the jewelry on Su Nian’s wrist. He had an eye for quality and knew this was definitely not someone he could afford to cross.

’Judging by her aura and appearance, she must be the young lady of some prominent family, out looking for a thrill!’

’The most urgent thing is to persuade her to go back down. If something happens to her, I’ll be in so much trouble I won’t know what hit me!’

But in the next second, Su Nian stepped forward. She was now less than a meter away from the foreman.

The man in the suit and tie quickly followed.

He was just about to try and persuade her when he glimpsed Su Nian take a few sheets of talisman paper out of her bag.

"Is his back so comfortable to lie on?"

Su Nian’s words came out of nowhere, causing the foreman, the boss, and the other workers to look at her in astonishment.

They also stared at the yellow talismans she had taken from her limited-edition designer bag.

’Is she some kind of idiot?’

But in the next second, the talisman paper in Su Nian’s hand spontaneously burst into flames.

And the Evil Ghosts on the foreman’s back began to clearly materialize.
