Chapter 36: Test [9]

Celestine looked at the three figures of Asher and said, "You really don’t have any element other than spatial, using all attribute-less spells. But you are being arrogant if you think you will defeat us with just clones. You do know that if any one of these clones gets destroyed, you will lose a part of your cultivation and end up with an injured mana core."

Asher just looked at her and said, "No need to worry about me. You weak-willed humans can never hurt me. Being destroyed is far off."

All three of them became even more enraged at this, even though they knew he was just saying these things to make them lose their calm.

Then one clone of Asher went towards Kevin, who was behind his ten undead beasts while the other beasts were being handled by his teammates.

Another clone went towards Celestine.

And the real body went towards Leon Zevark.

The real Asher just summoned his mana blade and started exchanging sword strikes with Leon.

Leon was physically stronger, but Asher, with his vast experience acquired through fights done by his other vessels, was slightly overwhelming him.

Leon already had a few scratches on his face and arms, but none of them had dealt much damage to him.

Leon just looked at him with a hint of horror in his eyes and said, "You are not a genius, you are a monster in human skin."

Asher did not reply and just looked at him with a bored expression.

Leon summoned a beam of light and threw it at him. Asher also summoned a mana arrow and fired it at Leon.

But the arrow did not strike the beam of light, instead it avoided it and kept coming towards him.

Leon was confused but did not let his guard down. His light beam was just an inch away from Asher when Asher suddenly vanished from his position and appeared in front of Leon at the spot where the mana arrow was, then slashed his mana sword at Leon.

Leon was ready for any surprise, so he easily blocked the strike. Then Asher leaned his body sideways, touched the ground with one hand, and used his leg to deliver a kick to Leon’s shoulder.

Leon did not expect this, but noticed it at the last moment and prepared his shoulder for it by creating a mana layer there, just a thin layer unlike Asher’s strong layer.

Asher’s kick connected to his shoulder, but instead of an impact, he felt something plunge into his shoulder. When he looked at Asher’s leg, he saw a blade of mana coming out of it.

Leon retreated in pain and thought,’Of course, this monster can manifest a mana blade out of his leg when he can already cover his whole body with mana. He just never revealed his full capabilities.’

Leon, with his shoulder injured, could not fight at close distance anymore, so he started attacking with light spells. But none of them touched Asher and only struck the trees behind him, causing the trees to catch fire.

(Light spells meant beams full of the Sun’s energy, one of the most destructive elements.)

While dodging the attacks, Asher also kept decreasing the distance between them and then again engaged in close combat with Leon, easily overwhelming him.

Leon kept getting wounded, but not a single wound that would endanger his life, only wounds that would cause the most pain.

Leon had an ugly expression and thought, ’He is just playing with me now.’

Then Asher stopped and looked at him with a bored expression and said, "It is not fun anymore, so let’s end this with a little gift for you that would remind you to never mess with me again."

Leon just looked at him with anger and fear in his eyes, and before he could understand what this gift was,

he saw Asher condensing his mana at his palm and starting to circulate it in a spherical shape.

And then Asher looked at him with a smile, and Leon felt dread all over his body while looking at the circulating sphere of mana.

Asher vanished and appeared beside Leon, and before Leon could react,

Asher pressed the mana sphere onto Leon’s uninjured arm and supplied it with mana.

Then the sphere grew bigger and destroyed Leon’s whole shoulder. Leon kept screaming in pain, but Asher did not stop until his entire shoulder was gone.

Leon then fell to the ground with one of his shoulder completely gone and bleeding, while the other was injured, and he kept screaming. Then Asher stopped the bleeding with healing so that he would not die, but also increased the sensitivity of his pain receptors, which was not difficult to do since he had studied biology and knew how the human body worked.

Soon Leon fainted due to blood loss, or maybe he just could not handle the pain anymore. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Asher just looked at Leon’s unconscious body with an indifferent expression, as if he had merely crushed an insect beneath his feet.

Asher’s Other Clone POV

Asher’s clone stood in front of Celestine.

Without any delay, Celestine launched a lightning spear towards the clone.

The clone calmly looked at the incoming lightning spear and simply tilted his head sideways.

The lightning spear brushed past his face and struck a tree behind him, instantly blasting it apart.

Celestine did not stop there.

She raised both of her hands and dozens of lightning bolts started forming around her.

Then, with a wave of her hand, all of them shot towards Asher’s clone from different directions, leaving him almost no space to dodge.

Asher just vanished from his place and appeared some distance away, but as soon as he appeared there, a lightning spear was already coming towards him.

Asher simply summoned his mana blade and reflected the lightning spear with it.

"Higher cultivation means nothing when you can’t even use your element effectively," Asher said with a bored expression.
