Mercenary's War
Chapter 2314 - 2290: Thank You for Loving Me
Gao Yang believed that in the Middle East, if a major event occurred in any corner that was enough to change the situation, it would definitely trigger a chain reaction.
So when Justin said the opportunity in Yemen had arrived, it must truly be the right time.
However, since the Black Demon hadn’t called Gao Yang, he felt it wasn’t truly the time to act. The few people sent to Yemen ahead were extremely experienced; if there was an opportunity, they would certainly seize it.
After finishing the call with Justin, Gao Yang put down the phone and contemplated whether to call Yarebin. Just as he was hesitating, Yelena walked into his room with a cup of coffee, placed it in front of him, and softly asked, "What’s wrong, shouldn’t you be leaving?"
Gao Yang smiled, put away his phone, and said, "No, it was just a routine report. I’m not in a hurry to leave."
Yelena immediately felt a sense of relief and said, "That’s wonderful!"
Gao Yang no longer thought about what chain reactions the complete annihilation of the Iraqi Ninth Division by IS might bring. He began to sip the coffee Yelena made for him, then smiled and said, "Do we have any plans for today?"
Yelena’s face bloomed like a flower, and she said to Gao Yang, "I’ll listen to you, you know I’m used to following your lead."
Gao Yang wore a pained expression and said, "Oh, forget it, don’t make me plan the schedule again. I prefer to follow your arrangements now. Whatever you want me to do, I’ll do it instead of thinking myself. I already have enough planning to do."
Yelena lightly bit her lip, then looked at Gao Yang and said, "If you ask me, how about listening to my special performance? A solo just for you."
Gao Yang laughed heartily and said loudly, "Great, let’s enjoy my wife’s performance."
Yelena laughed genuinely, but she still lightly hit Gao Yang and then exclaimed, "No, not your wife; you can only say fiancée. I haven’t married you yet, so give me five minutes, I need to prepare."
At his own ranch home, Gao Yang had bought a wonderful grand piano for Yelena, even though it might not be used for a year or even years. But he was wealthy and indulgent.
As for the violin, Yelena had brought her practice violin.
Gao Yang didn’t know what else Yelena needed to prepare, but after waiting for about half an hour, Yelena finally called out, "It’s ready, please come over!"
Gao Yang walked into the music room and saw Yelena wearing a black backless dress with her hair styled up, makeup on, holding a violin, and standing slightly nervously next to the piano.
When Yelena saw Gao Yang, she turned around and asked nervously, "How do I look?"
No wonder it took Yelena half an hour to prepare. Gao Yang shook his head repeatedly, took several deep breaths, and then with a face full of awe, he said, "Absolutely stunning! I didn’t expect my wife to be so beautiful, perfect. Oh, dear, you embody all my ideas of beauty. I don’t know what to say, I’m at a loss for words, but truly, really, you’re too perfect. I’m starting to have trouble breathing."
Gao Yang’s admiration was indeed heartfelt, and who doesn’t love to hear the sweet words of a lover?
Yelena laughed happily, lowered her head, and softly said, "I’m not your wife yet; you haven’t proposed to me yet. Alright, I’m going to start now; please sit down."
Gao Yang looked at his clothes and, somewhat awkwardly, asked, "Should I change too?"
"No need, my handsome fiancé. Whatever you wear is fine; please sit."
Gao Yang obediently sat on a chair, and Yelena took a deep breath and began to play the violin.
Yelena first played a Canon.
Canon isn’t the name of a piece; it’s a type of contrapuntal music, relatively simple but easy to get into the mood.
Watching his beautiful fiancée move the bow, the visual and auditory experience was top-notch. Even Gao Yang, who was used to listening to rock, almost immediately got into the zone, completely absorbed.
A Canon was quickly completed, and Yelena took a deep breath, gazing at Gao Yang with deep affection, "Next, I will play ’Love’s Joy’ composed by Kreisler. I hope you like it, dear."
Without almost any pause, Yelena started the violin piece titled ’Love’s Joy.’
A few minutes later, Yelena stopped moving the bow, and Gao Yang stood up, gently applauding, saying nothing, only looking at Yelena with deep affection.
Yelena put away the violin and softly said to Gao Yang, "When we first met, you thought my primary instrument was the piano."
Gao Yang, embarrassed, replied, "A misunderstanding."
Yelena bit her lip and immediately said, "When I was playing the piano, I told you I loved you. Do you remember what I was playing then?"
Gao Yang smiled and said, "How could I forget, ’Fate’ and ’Pathetique’."
Yelena nodded, turned to sit at the piano, stretched her slender fingers over the keys, and suddenly turned her head back, smiling at Gao Yang, "Do you want to sit with me?"
Gao Yang immediately sat next to Yelena, and Yelena softly said, "Hold me."
Gao Yang reached out an arm and embraced Yelena’s waist, and Yelena began to play the keys.
’Fate’ was one of the few famous tracks Gao Yang could recognize, but after only playing the beginning part, Yelena suddenly stopped.
Gao Yang softly asked, "Did I disturb you?"
Yelena smiled sweetly, lightly pecked Gao Yang’s lips, and softly said, "Yes, now my heart is filled only with love and joy. I can’t express the feeling this piece ’Fate’ requires, that tragic grandeur because I’m too happy."
Gao Yang smiled and said, "Then play another piece, one that matches your current mood."
Yelena softly said, "I composed a piano piece myself. It took a long time, but now it’s officially completed. I’m not sure if it’s good, but it’s a piece I composed for you, for us. Now, I’d like to play it for you, okay?"
Gao Yang took a deep breath, hugged Yelena tightly, and softly said, "I can’t wait."
Yelena paused for a moment, then softly said to Gao Yang, "Thank you for loving me, Gao."
Gao Yang was momentarily a bit lost, then somewhat absent-mindedly said, "Thank you for loving me, Yelena."
Yelena nodded, smiled sweetly, and finally placed her fingers on the piano keys.
But just at that moment, Gao Yang’s phone rang.
