Miss Witch's Devotion Has Gone… Twisted
Chapter 386: A New Super-tier Magic
"When exactly did the Observer's power start becoming incomplete?"
Loren pondered. Now he had forgiven the Perpetual Observer, not because the Observer was stingy and withheld full sight from Loren, but because the Observer itself simply did not possess full sight.
"I'll have to keep searching other diaries. Maybe I can find clues in the Dawn Princess's diary…"
This diary mostly recorded the Dawn Princess's observations, which helped Loren understand that era, but it wasn't very useful in practical terms.
Soon, Loren flipped to the end.
"Today I met an angel. It is one of the teacher's angels, and it is so, so beautiful…
"All language seems pale before its beauty. The only word I can think of is perfection…"
At this point, the diary abruptly ends.
"I hate these chapter-cutting dogs…"
Loren already guessed which angel the Dawn Princess mentioned; it was very likely Gabriel, that Pseudohuman Angel.
However, after learning more about the Perpetual Observer, Loren felt some doubts.
Pseudohumans were indeed terrifying and dangerous, but Loren did not think these things could have been created by the Observer's angels.
"Could there be another Gabriel?" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Loren speculated, though he had no evidence.
Having finished the diary, Loren's next task was to find the magic hidden inside it.
Using a special technique, Loren rapidly flipped through the Dawn Princess's diary, and finally the magic concealed within the diary manifested.
"Super-tier Magic, [Endtimes Conflagration]…
"Alright, now I have super-tier spells for both single-target and multi-target scenarios…"
The last spell Loren had obtained from the Dawn Princess's diary was [Abyssal Sea Collapse], an ultimate area spell whose effect was roughly equivalent to linking the local sky with the abyssal sea—if triggered in haste, it could destroy a continent.
One must remember that most of this world is ocean; two continents on the sea are like two drifting leaves.
[Endtimes Conflagration] was even more domineering. It could directly burn away someone else's future. Its only drawback was limited range, but for single-target use, even Loren could think of very few spells stronger than Endtimes Conflagration.
Now Loren had the confidence to go to war with the Orthodox Gods; as long as he could strip away their authority, killing a main god was not impossible.
With more confidence, Loren slept even more soundly that night.
The next day, after Mirrorheart bit him awake, it was already noon. Loren stretched lazily, planning to time his arrival at the academy, but first he would eat something.
"Luna. Jessica, do you want to go to school? Or should I just get you enrollment certificates directly?"
Before coming here, Loren had promised to get an enrollment certificate for Jessica, also to prevent Luna from feeling lonely, so he had brought Jessica along as well.
These past few days Jessica had witnessed many big scenes because of Loren. Without him, she never would have seen them.
And without Luna, Jessica would hardly have any interaction with Loren in her life, so along with gratitude toward Loren she also felt grateful to Luna.
Although Luna kept saying how much Jessica helped her, Jessica knew clearly that compared to what Luna and Loren had done for her, her own efforts were nothing.
So Jessica continued faithfully helping Luna with advice. As soon as Loren finished speaking, Jessica leaned close to Luna's ear:
"We have to go to the academy. What we learn there doesn't matter much; it's certainly not as good as what Master Mentor teaches, but the main point is we get to spend more time with Master Mentor.
"Most other people probably won't go to the academy, so this is your chance to pull ahead of them."
"We'll go to the academy!"
No sooner had Jessica finished than Luna anxiously made her choice. She once again felt glad she had brought Jessica along.
"Alright then, finish eating and follow me. Does anyone else want to go?"
Sure enough, things played out exactly as Jessica predicted; no one else wanted to go to the academy, and Jessica smiled.
"I want to go!"
At that moment, Anna raised her hand.
Luna didn't feel threatened by this. Anna was the only witch Luna did not regard as a rival.
Even Naclis, who held the same status as Anna, was treated warily by Luna; only Anna escaped Luna's suspicion—she seemed completely harmless.
"Okay."
Loren affectionately patted Anna's hair. Anna sniffed Loren's clothes, apparently thinking about something odd.
…
After the meal Loren prepared to leave for the academy. Luna and Jessica naturally followed.
"Master Mentor, are you heading to the academy?"
Casper, squatting by the door, leapt up excitedly when he saw Loren step out and launched himself toward Loren.
"Yes, lead the way, and help me with the enrollment procedures. I have three people who need to enroll."
"Alright… uh… how can one learn super-tier magic?"
"Go to the academy first, then we'll talk."
"Okay…"
Hearing Loren's promise, Casper was ecstatic. He borrowed a carriage and released the horse, personally pulling the cart himself.
To go faster, he even cast several enhancement spells on himself. One had to admit, he ran much faster than the horse.
"He's really gone all out…"
Loren muttered. Being pulled by a cart was humiliating enough, let alone being the one pulling the cart—especially when it was someone of Casper's rank. Even across the whole Nofica Theocracy, his status was among the top.
If nothing unusual had occurred, without borrowing divine power, Casper would currently be the strongest in the Nofica Theocracy.
With such high standing, Casper was still willing to pull Loren's cart—his thirst for knowledge truly bordered on the absurd.
Loren felt a little regretful; he respected that kind of pure scholar. But Casper was, after all, a member of the Bountiful Church and would eventually stand opposed to Loren, so Loren could never actually teach him anything truly important.
Otherwise, having Casper help research some magic wouldn't be bad; it would save Loren from having to handle all research personally.
With Casper personally pulling the cart, Loren arrived at the academy after a short while. Many people witnessed the scene and were shocked—what kind of person could make Casper pull a cart, and willingly at that?
When Loren stepped down from the carriage, no one was surprised anymore.
"Master Mentor…"
As the carriage stopped, Casper couldn't wait to ask questions, but Loren glanced down at his watch and walked away.
"It's almost class time. I can't be late for my first lesson; I need to make a good impression on the students."
Loren turned and left, leaving Casper standing there bewildered in the wind.
