Miss Witch's Devotion Has Gone… Twisted

Chapter 404: Genius Parina

Loren’s current self-healing abilities were very strong. No matter how severe the injury, he only needed to wait a period of time to fully recover.

However, compared to those with truly extreme regenerative powers, Loren still fell a bit short. He couldn’t recover health while actively fighting. If a large group of people with enough damage output ganged up on him, and there were so many that even Void-walking couldn’t escape, Loren would still be in danger.

“I actually have such an obvious weakness. I nearly ended up in danger...”

Creating accessories that enhanced regenerative effects would be perfect. With high-level equipment like that, Loren was confident he could possess Duke-level regeneration.

Combined with his own life-saving abilities, Loren was practically no different from being immortal.

The most crucial point was that the reversed [Shattered Love] curse could amplify all of Loren’s regenerative abilities—even those coming from protective charms—and this boost was multiplicative.

It was just a pity that Loren’s laboratory wasn’t here. Scarlett had brought some equipment, but it clearly wasn’t enough. Loren planned to borrow the academy’s facilities tomorrow.

It wasn’t a secret that Loren had dealings with vampires, so pulling out vampire fangs wasn’t strange. He didn’t even need to hide it from others.

After finalizing his plans for tomorrow, Loren lay down on the bed, and Mirrorheart climbed up right after.

Since coming here, Mirrorheart hadn’t been satisfied yet. From tonight onward, she had been clinging to Loren persistently.

Mirrorheart was always quiet in her movements, but Cecelia, who was hiding under the bed, still noticed. Eventually, she joined the battle as well.

...

The next day at noon, Mirrorheart got up, tidied the bed, and also took care of the unconscious Cecelia. While she was busy with these tasks, Seraphina had already prepared the meal.

After a quick bite, Loren left with Luna and the others. At the entrance, he encountered Casper, who had been waiting for him. The headmaster was still holding the black robe Loren had given him earlier.

“Master Mentor, I’ve figured out what this thing is...”

His tone was awkward. Casper also knew what had happened yesterday. While he was diligently studying the black robe, Loren had already led people to raid the Mastermind Behind the Scenes’ home.

Normally, Casper was completely absorbed in his own research, indifferent to social niceties, and rarely exchanged anything outside of academics with others. So his information was especially slow—he didn’t even learn about the Langton family’s destruction until it was already over. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

“Mm, you worked hard.”

Loren acknowledged him briefly. He hadn’t expected Casper to accomplish much anyway. Telling him about it was just an offhand gesture, something he mentioned while passing by on his way to the Church.

“Now, let’s head to the academy first.”

Loren didn’t ask Casper about his findings, and Casper didn’t volunteer them either. He knew his investigation was already useless.

Because he hadn’t been able to help, Casper was too embarrassed to even ask Loren about Super-tier Magic anymore.

Casper had already lost hope, but then Loren took the initiative to bring it up:

“Some ancient people did indeed know Super-tier Magic, like the Dawn Princess.”

By the time he finished speaking, Loren had arrived at the academy. He led Luna and the others into the classroom, leaving Casper outside.

The teacher was lecturing inside. When she spotted Loren at the door, she willingly stepped out, leaving the class to him.

Seeing Loren enter, many students who had been dozing off immediately perked up. They had thought Loren would only teach a couple of classes as a gesture, but here he was again—an unexpected delight.

Last time, Loren proved his worth in just one lesson. Afterward, the students naturally went home and told their families about what happened at the academy. Now, Loren’s prestige had reached an unprecedented height.

Many people had only heard that Loren was impressive before. Now, they knew firsthand just how impressive he really was.

It had been who knows how many years since anyone had improved magic. Under the Church’s deliberate guidance, human mages had grown weaker and weaker, and more and more spells had been lost.

That was precisely what made Loren’s power stand out.

Of course, the Church wasn’t entirely satisfied with Loren’s actions, but it was still within their acceptable range, so they didn’t bother with it.

God didn’t need humans to be powerful—only for more humans to believe in Him.

“What class is this?”

“It’s Magic Theory!”

The girl in the front row responded enthusiastically again. Loren nodded. Having such a good student would make any teacher happy.

As for Anna, she had once again sat next to Paqina and started chatting with her. But Paqina’s attention was entirely on Loren, and she barely acknowledged Anna.

Anna noticed Paqina’s current state. She looked very exhausted, with dark circles so deep they rivaled Noah’s level, though not quite as severe. Still, she looked like she hadn’t slept in days.

Paqina clutched a notebook tightly to her chest, staring intently at Loren.

At the same time, Loren also noticed Paqina’s condition and found it strange.

He had indeed taught Paqina quite a bit of magic, but with her talent, she should have mastered it all in less than a day. There was no reason for her to be staying up all night. So Loren was curious about what was going on with her.

“Let’s change this class to a practical session. Everyone, head downstairs. What’s the next class?”

“The next class is History. The Vice Headmaster is coming to teach us in person!”

“Oh, then I’m taking that one too. Let’s just have two practical classes in a row.”

The Vice Headmaster of Bountiful Magic Academy was also a big shot. Getting him to come teach a class was no easy feat. Even some noble students felt honored by it.

But compared to Loren, the Vice Headmaster was just some random person on the street. The students knew this very well. So when Loren said he was taking over the next class, not a single complaint was raised—only excitement.

Once they arrived at the training ground, Loren first had the students demonstrate the magic he had taught them. All of them successfully cast it, and their speed had noticeably improved.

These students were already elites to get into this academy. And Loren’s magic was simpler on top of that, so this result wasn’t surprising.

So Loren taught them another low-tier spell. After sending them off, he approached Paqina alone.

Before Loren could speak, Paqina eagerly handed him a notebook:

“Master Mentor, I’ve fully mastered the method you privately taught me, and I’ve completely learned all the magic you gave me.

“Following the ideas you provided, I improved other spells. Please take a look...”

Loren opened the notebook. It was filled with Bountiful Magic spells that Paqina had modified, and they weren’t far off from his own improvements.

Now he understood why Paqina had dark circles under her eyes.

“Paqina, you’re a genius!”

Loren felt like he had struck gold. He grabbed Paqina’s face and rubbed it vigorously, knocking her glasses askew in the process.

Paqina let out a few silly laughs. Being praised by Loren made her incredibly happy.
