Chapter 406: The Clouds of Harmony Peak
"Stonehaven. Till we meet again."
With those final words, Liam Windrunner and Elder Wind turned and disappeared into the drifting sea of clouds.
"See you."
Marcus raised a hand toward their retreating figures before letting out a long breath. The quest was finally complete. After being trapped inside the Mystic Turtle’s Tomb for more than ten days, he was more than ready to head home. More specifically, he missed his girls.
"Sir, would you like to leave Harmony Peak now, or would you prefer to look around first? We could take a short tour."
Shadow Panther stepped forward respectfully, gesturing toward the vast mountain ranges wrapped in mist and black-and-white clouds.
Marcus immediately felt tempted.
The scenery here was unreal. Towering peaks pierced through the clouds like ancient pillars, waterfalls spilled endlessly into glowing valleys, and disciples floated effortlessly through the skies atop those black-and-white Harmony Clouds. Every movement looked graceful and refined, like immortals from an Eastern Fantasy novel.
Honestly, he was jealous.
"Shadow Panther, this place is incredible. I have a few friends. Would it be possible to invite them here someday?"
The moment the words left his mouth, images were already forming in his head. Flying through these mountains with Lily and the others, riding Harmony Clouds together, exploring hidden valleys and ancient ruins... yeah, that sounded amazing.
He was already looking forward to it.
Unfortunately, Shadow Panther shook its head before Marcus could continue.
"Sir, after the great war against the Demon Clan two hundred years ago, the nine great sects suffered catastrophic losses. Since then, every sect has sealed its mountains from the outside world. The restrictions have not yet been lifted. Unless there is an exceptional reason, outsiders are forbidden from entering. I hope you understand."
Marcus nodded.
That made sense. Harmony Peak was still under Dominion lockdown. Players probably could not access this place yet, and Lily’s group definitely would not be able to enter.
Still...
’Nine great sects.’
The deeper he got into Dreamland, the bigger the world became.
"Shadow Panther, do you happen to have any spare Harmony Clouds? I really like this cloud-riding technique."
Marcus tried to sound calm, but the excitement in his voice was impossible to hide.
He wanted to get back home, sure, but there was no way he could leave after seeing disciples literally flying through the mountains on clouds. Riding through the skies like an immortal cultivator was a fantasy of every lover of the genre.
Missing out on that would be criminal.
And besides, this place looked straight out of a fantasy movie. If he recorded another video here, players online would absolutely lose their minds.
"Harmony Peak: Dual Cultivation or Immortal Cultivation?"
The title alone would drain wallets.
"Wahahaha!"
Marcus burst into laughter.
Unfortunately, the laugh came out a little too loud, and his expression looked suspiciously villainous.
Shadow Panther stiffened slightly.
"Sir... are you alright?"
At this point, he was starting to believe Liam’s earlier comments about Marcus being a little questionable.
Because right now, with that laugh and that expression, Marcus absolutely looked shady.
"Oh. Nothing."
Marcus immediately straightened his face and returned to a dignified posture as if nothing had happened.
Then he cleared his throat and asked eagerly, "About those Harmony Clouds..."
"Ah, right."
Shadow Panther had nearly forgotten.
"Since you are an honored guest of the King of the Mountains, it should not be a problem. Let us ask Elder Mist. If things go well, perhaps we can even obtain a high-grade Harmony Cloud for you."
"A high-grade one?"
Marcus’s eyes lit up instantly.
If ordinary Harmony Clouds already looked this impressive, then a high-grade version had to be even better.
"Follow me."
Shadow Panther led him deeper toward the summit.
As they traveled, Shadow Panther continued introducing the landmarks around Harmony Peak.
"The sect elders all reside near the summit. Elder Mist, in particular, enjoys cultivating with the black-and-white clouds, so she is usually at the Mist Terrace."
It pointed toward a massive cavern hidden between two cliffs in the distance.
"That place is Falling Cloud Gorge. Every few days, the black-and-white clouds throughout the mountains are drawn toward it, almost as if some invisible force is pulling them inside. The sight is breathtaking."
Marcus followed its gaze.
Even from this far away, the gorge looked mysterious. Dense clouds swirled around the entrance in slow spirals, giving the entire area an almost unreal atmosphere.
"Legend says a Super Divine Artifact called the Twin Serpent Mirror is hidden inside Falling Cloud Gorge. Supposedly, that artifact absorbs the surrounding clouds, which is why this phenomenon occurs. Unfortunately, despite centuries of searching, no one has ever found it."
Shadow Panther sighed regretfully.
"What a shame. If the clouds were gathering today, you would have seen something unforgettable. Over there is the Forest of Ten Thousand Birds..."
The journey continued like that for nearly half an hour.
Between Shadow Panther’s explanations and Marcus stopping every few minutes to record footage, they eventually reached the summit of Harmony Peak and arrived at the Mist Terrace.
Along the way, they passed numerous Harmony Peak disciples. Most wore flowing white-and-black robes and traveled effortlessly through the air atop Harmony Clouds. Some practiced sword techniques on narrow cliff edges while others meditated among the drifting mist.
The Mist Terrace itself was even livelier. More than a dozen disciples were sparring or cultivating beneath the swirling sea of black-and-white clouds.
Naturally, Marcus attracted attention the moment he arrived.
Outsiders rarely appeared here, and from the disciples’ reactions, it was obvious they had not seen one in a very long time. Several disciples around Shadow Panther’s level approached curiously, asking questions and sneaking glances at Marcus.
But once they learned he was a guest personally invited by the King of the Mountains, their attitudes immediately became warm and respectful. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
During the conversation, Marcus also learned more about Liam.
Apparently, Liam’s ancestors had deep ties with Harmony Peak, and Liam himself had once been a candidate disciple here before eventually walking his own path and becoming one of Dreamland’s strongest experts.
Shadow Panther even claimed that, given Liam’s current growth rate, he would likely enter Dreamland’s top ten experts within the next decade.
Marcus honestly believed it.
After all, Liam had fought a Divine Beast head-on by himself. Even if the Venomous Horned Serpent ranked among the weaker Divine Beasts, that feat was still absurd.
"Elder Mist is inside."
Shadow Panther pointed toward a wooden hall roughly fifty yards ahead and began walking toward it.
The closer Marcus got to the Mist Terrace, the denser the Twin energy became. Thick black-and-white clouds drifted throughout the entire platform, brushing against his clothes and skin like cool flowing water.
He could actually reach out and touch them. The name Mist Terrace truly fit the place.
Shadow Panther stopped outside the wooden hall and respectfully announced their arrival.
"Shadow Panther requests an audience with Elder Mist."
A calm, gentle voice soon drifted from within.
"Come in."
Marcus blinked.
’A woman?’
For some reason, he had imagined Elder Mist as an old man with a long beard.
Now his curiosity immediately rose.
