Mr. CEO Has a Crush on Me
Chapter 1674: Burning Jealousy (1)
"Did you sprain your ankle?" Yue Siqing quickly checked and only relaxed once he confirmed it was fine.
Gu Anjin shook her head, "No."
But when she looked up again, the elevator doors had already closed.
Gu Anjin said speechlessly, "We could have gone up just now."
"Are you in a hurry?"
Gu Anjin didn’t speak.
Her hand was still in Yue Siqing’s hand, and she decided silently not to remind him. She mumbled, "Go back early, so you can rest early. Brother Siqing, haven’t you been very busy and tired recently?"
Just as Yue Siqing was about to release her hand, a surprised, unfamiliar voice from behind called out, "Yue Siqing?"
Wen Ling couldn’t help but say his name when she heard Gu Anjin’s address.
So this man was the Yue Siqing that Sheng Wei had talked about—not busy, but meeting another woman.
All the talk about never being interested in ordinary women seemed to be false.
When Gu Anjin heard the girl’s voice calling him, she also saw Yue Siqing release her hand.
She lowered her gaze, looking down at his large hand swiftly tucked into the pocket of his trousers.
It seemed he didn’t want anyone to see, afraid of causing a misunderstanding.
"Who are you?" Yue Siqing asked in a cold voice, turning his head.
Behind them were two women, the one who spoke earlier looking surprised; he did not recognize her at all.
The other one’s eyes had a complex expression, seemingly familiar.
"Mr. Yue." Wen Ling quickly regained her composure, smiling as she stepped forward and extended her hand, "Wen Ling."
Yue Siqing glanced at her, not intending to shake her hand.
He had absolutely no idea who she was.
Wen Ling felt some regret; it seemed this was the man Sheng Wei had set her sights on, truly remarkable, no wonder it made her so infatuated.
She asked her father Sheng to collaborate between the two families, even to the extent of offering profit, just to become in-laws.
If it were up to her, she would be willing too.
"Mr. Yue might not know me, right?" Wen Ling covered her mouth, laughing. "But this lady beside me, Mr. Yue cannot possibly not know her. This is the daughter of Shengning Group’s chairman, Miss Sheng Wei. Mr. Yue, have you forgotten your appointment tonight?"
Yue Siqing’s indifferent gaze turned to the woman beside him.
Sheng Wei, the woman his adoptive mother wanted him to marry.
This time he returned not only for the emergency meeting but also because his adoptive mother wanted him to meet this woman.
"Wen Ling," Sheng Wei gathered herself, nonchalantly stopping Wen Ling. "Don’t speak like this. Mr. Yue, it’s alright; we can have dinner together next time."
Listening to this, Gu Anjin’s heart felt as if it had been hit with a heavy blow.
She knew Yue Siqing might not love her; it was only because of those unavoidable reasons that he stayed by her side, taking care of her.
But she had never thought that Yue Siqing might also be involved with other women.
She never considered this possibility, as he had never interacted with any other women before.
Her persistent hope stemmed from being the only woman around him.
Gu Anjin couldn’t find words to speak, her eyes tightly focused on the woman named Sheng Wei.
"Who is this lady?" Sheng Wei asked with a smile, sizing her up.
During this process, she intentionally showed her disdain and contempt, yet still couldn’t help but feel jealous because of her.
She envied her not only because she could walk so closely with Yue Siqing.
But also because it’s hard to find anything wrong with her.
Whether in temperament or looks, just standing there made people feel she and Yue Siqing were quite a match.
Such a feeling made Sheng Wei feel resentful.
