Chapter 178: Chapter 176: Just Make Do with These Two Yuan (5)

At the exit of Alveria’s airport, several bodyguards from the Lynch Family had received a notice and were waiting early.

Finally, after a few minutes, they saw the young master who had ditched them abroad.

He wore a hat, and a blue diamond on his left ear sparkled brilliantly. His white suit was definitely turning heads.

Having been away from Alveria for so long, the moment Leon Lynch stepped off the plane, he felt his senses sharpen in this place.

Because she had once been here.

They say time is a great healer, that the people hidden deep in your heart will gradually fade with its passing. But he had to disagree. With every day that went by, the woman buried in his heart only became clearer.

He had tried with all his might to forget her, but he never succeeded.

So, he had returned. Even if she was gone, he had to walk the places they had once been together.

"Take my luggage. I’m going to the restroom."

The bodyguards followed, watched him go inside, and waited by the restroom door.

To Leon Lynch’s frustration, the stall was out of toilet paper. The awkwardness on his face was more than a little palpable. He had no choice but to sit on the toilet and knock on the wall of the next stall.

Just then, a question came from the other side, "You there?"

Leon Lynch answered, "Yeah."

He wanted to ask if the guy had any toilet paper, but before he could speak, the person next door asked, "So what’d you come for?"

Leon Lynch managed to choke out three words, "Taking a shit!"

"So when are you leaving? I’m waiting to see you."

Leon Lynch broke into a cold sweat. ’Did I just run into an idiot at the airport?’ he thought.

"I’ll leave as soon as I’m done. Excuse me, do you have any toilet paper?"

Who knew the person next door would then say, "Alright, that’s it. My phone’s out of credit, so I’m hanging up. Can’t even take a piss in peace. Some moron in the next stall keeps trying to butt into my conversation."

Leon Lynch froze, his expression turning as ugly as if he were constipated.

’Why did I have to be so damn unlucky the moment I got back, even just using the bathroom? Someone, please tell me!’

Just then, two one-dollar bills were passed under the divider. The voice next door spoke again, "You should’ve said you needed paper sooner! I was on a call and you waited forever to ask. Thing is, bro, I don’t have any paper either. Take these two bucks as my charity for the day. Make do with it."

Leon Lynch stared at the two one-dollar bills. For the sake of his male pride, he passed them back. "No, thanks."

He then had no choice but to call his bodyguard. "Bring me some paper."

And that’s how the restroom problem was solved.

While sitting in the car, stopped at a crossroads, a huge television screen was broadcasting the latest entertainment news. Leon Lynch opened the window, his eyes fixing on the face he had yearned for day and night in his dreams. His pupils constricted, and it felt as if his heart had stopped beating.

When the beloved woman you were certain was dead suddenly appears right before your eyes, there’s probably no one who wouldn’t go mad.

The image flashed, and the screen scrolled to the next entertainment story.

Leon Lynch pulled his gaze away and sat up straight again. A long while later, a brilliant smile suddenly spread across his face.

The smile grew wider and wider, until he finally broke down, weeping with uncontrollable joy.

The bodyguards beside him were all dumbfounded.

’What’s gotten into him?’

The car pulled up to the Lynch Family’s gate, and only then did Leon Lynch compose himself and step out.

Mrs. Lynch had heard the news of his return long ago. Hearing footsteps, she hurried out to greet him.

"Son! You finally decided to come back!"

But Leon Lynch wasn’t very enthusiastic. "This is my home, of course I’d come back. Besides, I just went on a trip for a few days. It’s not like I ran away."

Mrs. Lynch sensed that his tone was different than before and could only say, "Leon, about Maeve Sutton... don’t blame your mother. I think she’s wonderful and a great match for you. Besides, you’re not getting any younger."

"The world is a big place. Are you going to give me every woman who looks like a good match for me? Mom, how many times have I told you? Stay out of my marriage. I have my own pursuits and plans. Maybe in the past, it would have been fine, but now... I’d rather have nothing than settle for less."

Mrs. Lynch sighed. Not daring to say anything else that might provoke him, she relented, "Fine, I won’t interfere anymore. You can handle it yourself."

Hearing this, Leon Lynch’s expression finally softened. He put down his luggage and turned around. "I have to go out for a bit."

Mrs. Lynch watched his retreating figure, looking as if she wanted to say something but held back, feeling utterly helpless.

「The sky cleared.」

Filming continued on schedule.

In the afternoon, Jean Grant appeared on the set of *Love when the sun comes out*.

Nora Ainsworth had just finished her scene. A scene between Ethan Ellsworth and Sharon Ainsworth was now underway.

Chloe Marshall spotted Jean Grant right away. She stood there watching Jean walk toward them and subconsciously glanced at Ethan Ellsworth.

His back was to them as he filmed, so he didn’t notice.

"Chloe, how many more scenes are there today?"

Chloe Marshall flipped through the script. "There’s still one more scene to shoot tonight."

Jean Grant nodded. Without taking off her face mask, she said in a low voice, "I called him, but he didn’t pick up. Give me his room key. I’ll go wait for him. Tell him to come find me after he’s done filming."

Chloe Marshall handed her the key. "Okay."

Jean Grant took it and turned to leave.

Chloe Marshall stood there, holding Ethan Ellsworth’s jacket.

Nora Ainsworth walked over. "You gave Jean his key?"

Chloe Marshall nodded. "I didn’t dare refuse. If I hadn’t, Boss Ellsworth would have probably chewed me out."

"Chloe, it breaks my heart to see you like this. Why don’t you just tell him how you feel? Even if he fires you, at least you’ll feel better for having said it."

Her eyes held a frosty look, and she gave a somewhat desolate smile. "If I tell him, will anything change? It will only make staying by his side an impossible dream. That’s why I always say, I’d rather be friends for a lifetime than lovers for a moment." 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

"No matter what you do, Chloe, I’m on your side."

The two of them exchanged a smile.

With a shout of "CUT! Next scene!" the film crew moved to a new location. The next part was for the other supporting actors, and Ethan Ellsworth quickly walked over.

Chloe Marshall handed him his jacket to put on and said in a low voice, "Boss Ellsworth, she’s here. She’s waiting for you in your room. I gave her your key."

Chloe Marshall used "she" to refer to Jean Grant.

Ethan Ellsworth gave a low "Mm," and said, "You should go get some rest too. Go have fun wherever you want, just don’t be late for the shoot tonight."

He left after saying that.

Nora Ainsworth’s gaze never left Chloe Marshall’s face. Although Chloe didn’t say a word, Nora could feel her friend’s heart quietly breaking.

Nora Ainsworth spoke up, "Come on, Chloe. Let’s go with Zeke. The three of us can go wander around somewhere nearby."

Chloe Marshall forced a smile. "Okay, Nora. Let’s go back and get some money first."

Just as they reached the eighth floor, before she could even open her room door, her cell phone rang.

Chloe Marshall picked it up and saw it was a call from her dad. She mumbled in confusion, "Why would my dad be calling me at this hour? I wonder if something’s up."
