Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 1204 - 1199: Will You Only Give Lara Back After We Sleep Together?
Looking at Hannah Hargrave’s unclothed body under the nightgown, Nicholas Croft sneered silently, his cold, handsome face showing no ripple, carrying the wine and glass as he headed to the sofa inside.
Nicholas Croft’s villa wasn’t very large; he had lived alone for many years, preferring smaller spaces. The "new room" prepared for Hannah Hargrave used to be Panda Eye’s room.
Ever since Sophie Foster "disappeared," Panda Eyes stayed with him every night, initially he disliked its interference, but now he wanted it for companionship.
Nicholas Croft sat on the sofa, and Hannah Hargrave came over, sitting beside him, gently lifting her slender arm to hook onto his, intentionally brushing her chest against him, cooing, "Nicholas..."
Nicholas Croft suppressed his inner disgust, looked down and poured wine into both glasses, picking one up and motioning it to Hannah Hargrave.
Hannah Hargrave took it, her eyes fixed tightly on Nicholas Croft, "I want us to drink a ceremonial toast."
Nicholas Croft lifted his gaze slightly, giving her a cool glance, one with indifferent emotion, the other clearly persistent.
Raising an eyebrow, Nicholas Croft slightly turned his body, bending his arm to lift the glass. Hannah Hargrave smiled triumphantly and hooked her arm through his, saying, "Nicholas, today is our wedding day, may we from now on be..."
"Woof! Woof woof..." Before Hannah Hargrave finished speaking, Panda Eyes darted in, standing across the coffee table, barking at her unkindly.
"Where did this crazy dog come from! Get out!" Hannah Hargrave knew pets wouldn’t bite, which is why she dared to shout at Panda Eyes disrupting the atmosphere, and seeing Panda Eyes still barking at her, she grabbed a cushion and threw it.
Panda Eyes whimpered and dodged, and the cushion hit its rear end. After turning around, it continued barking at Hannah Hargrave.
On their wedding night, there were "proper" things to do. Nicholas Croft frowned and chided, "Panda Eyes, go back to the room!"
Chastised by its male owner, Panda Eyes whimpered at Nicholas Croft, unwilling to leave. Nicholas Croft again commanded, "Go!" Only then did Panda Eyes reluctantly turn, heading out while whimpering.
"That creature, such a buzzkill!" Hannah Hargrave complained in dissatisfaction, regaining her gaze and just about to continue what she hadn’t finished saying, Nicholas Croft already downed his wine and offered the empty glass to her.
Hannah Hargrave pursed her lips, having no choice but to finish the wine in her glass.
Nicholas Croft picked up the wine bottle again, slowly pouring while speaking, "Hannah Hargrave, will you give Lara back to me after we’ve slept together?"
"If you think so, that’s fine." Hannah Hargrave tidied her damp long hair, with droplets staining a large part of her nightgown; that previously hazy beauty was now almost fully displayed in front of Nicholas Croft, plump and rounded, with a point rising in the center like a ripe cherry waiting to be picked.
Unfortunately, Nicholas Croft seemed completely indifferent. His cold eyes didn’t even glance over, finished pouring his own glass, then poured Hannah Hargrave’s, handing her the glass after pouring.
Seeing Nicholas Croft unmoved by her, Hannah Hargrave felt unwilling. She held the glass, looking at Nicholas Croft, her lightly made-up face showing reluctance. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"Nicholas, I don’t consider myself inferior to Sophie Foster, either in figure or looks!" Hannah Hargrave deliberately puffed her chest, showcasing her advantage, "Then why won’t you look at me, not even give me a chance; it’s not too late to reject me after trying!"
Nicholas Croft turned his gaze, his slightly raised brows showing indifference, "Aren’t I giving you a chance now?"
Hannah Hargrave...
Momentarily startled, her previously reluctant face now showed joy, her voice trembling slightly as she spoke, "Nicholas..."
Nicholas Croft faintly curled the corner of his mouth, forming a deep, mysterious curve, gesturing with the wine glass, and in Hannah Hargrave’s excited gaze, elegantly took a sip.
Hannah Hargrave raised her finger to wipe her eye corner, where tears of excitement had already wet, then raised her glass and drank all the wine.
Nicholas Croft glanced briefly again, picking up the wine bottle to pour another for her. Hannah Hargrave clutched the glass, her hand with pretty nails gripping the stem, taking a deep breath as she looked at the red liquid, smiling faintly, "Nicholas, you know, the first time I saw you I liked you immediately, back when I just joined the company, not yet famous in the circle. I worked hard to make myself worthy to match you."
Hannah Hargrave spoke emotionally, but unfortunately, Nicholas Croft was not moved at all, his lips curling slightly, looking carefully as if mocking.
Since entering this industry, women were never short in drawing near actively. If he accepted each one, there’d be more women than in an ancient emperor’s harem.
He didn’t have the power to prohibit women from admiring him, but he wouldn’t permit some to use despicable means to constrain him.
Acceptance doesn’t mean compromise; it’s just a helpless measure in desperation.
After Hannah Hargrave finished speaking, she raised her glass again. Hannah Hargrave toasted her glass and adjusted her emotions, smiling as she said, "Today is our wedding day, let’s not mention those unhappy past days. From now on, I’ll be a good wife, a good mother, and live well with you."
Hannah Hargrave was fully immersed in her vision of happiness, completely unaware of the shadow passing through Nicholas Croft’s eyes when she mentioned the word "mother."
After clinking glasses, she lifted her head and drank the wine.
After several glasses, Hannah Hargrave was already tipsy. Seeing Nicholas Croft no longer resisted her as before, she clung to his arm again, her slightly furrowed brows and eyes softly murmured, "Nicholas~"
Hannah Hargrave pouted her lips slightly, perhaps due to the alcohol, her chest rubbed against Nicholas Croft’s arm, like a woman in heat.
"It’s late, let’s rest..."
Nicholas Croft turned his gaze on the restless woman, his lowered eyes glanced at her chest, curling his lip in disdain, his long fingers pinched Hannah Hargrave’s chin, casually asked, "Can’t wait, huh?"
"Nicholas~"
Hannah Hargrave lifted her hand, pulling down one of the nightgown’s straps to reveal herself in action responding to the question.
With a mocking sneer, Nicholas Croft’s gaze cooperated by glancing over there—the beautiful curve was visually striking.
Undeniably, Hannah Hargrave was truly outstanding among women, with looks and figure, her family background was good too. Nicholas Croft raised an eyebrow, his fingers releasing Hannah Hargrave’s chin.
