Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 1270 - 1265: Stop Pretending—I’m Not Buying It
Sophia Hamilton’s nature has always been to meet strength with strength. Evander Lancaster’s tough attitude only ignited her rebellious spirit.
She swung his arm away and sneered, "Who do you think you are? Some big shot? You’re just flattering yourself!"
Sophia’s face was obviously mocking. Faced with such a provocative woman, Evander didn’t get angry but smiled instead. He clamped her chin again, this time squeezing tight. No matter how much Sophia tried to pry his fingers off, he wouldn’t let go.
His handsome face slowly approached, curling his lips as he said, one word at a time, "Sophia Hamilton, listen to me. You’re the woman Evander Lancaster has taken a liking to, and for the rest of your life, don’t even think about escaping! Alive, you’re my Evander Lancaster’s woman; dead, you’re my Evander Lancaster’s ghost!"
Sophia hated this side of Evander the most, acting like he could do whatever he wanted just because he had money.
Unable to free her chin, she raised her hand and swung it down, "Stop pretending with me! I won’t fall for it!"
Sophia’s fist came down with her words, but Evander quickly tilted his head to the side, dodging her punch. At the same time, his fingers slipped off her chin, and Sophia immediately lunged at Evander with her now-free body.
She pinned him down and started hitting him, all while chanting, "You dead man, I’ll show you! Today, if I don’t beat you until your mom can’t recognize you, I’ll take your last name..."
Evander was a man; there was no way he could lose to Sophia in strength. Just as he was about to turn over and fight back, a nurse who had gone to buy breakfast walked in. Seeing their leader being pinned down and beaten by a woman, she was dumbfounded.
Standing at the door with a plastic bag in one hand and a food container in the other, she stammered, "D-Director, what are you..."
Though Evander was usually accommodating with his staff, it didn’t mean he didn’t care about face. He immediately turned his head to glare at Sophia and scolded harshly, "Enough! What are you making a fuss about? Have I not given you enough face?"
Sophia...
She paused at Evander’s shout, but as soon as she realized, she raised her fist again.
"You bastard, now you’re in the right? I don’t need your face!"
Seeing Sophia erupt again, Evander hugged her with a swift motion, flipping her over and pinning her underneath him.
Even if a man is angry, no matter how furious, he wouldn’t hit the woman he loves. The cruelest method is to torment her fiercely.
That’s precisely what Evander did. He grabbed Sophia’s wrists with both hands, controlling her as he pressed his mouth against hers, biting her lips. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
"Mmm... Bastard... Let go..." Sophia mumbled, trying to dodge, but wherever she moved, Evander’s lips followed, like a magnet clinging to hers.
The nurse’s eyes widened in shock, and once she processed what she was seeing, she hurriedly placed the breakfast on a side table and quickly left.
After closing the door, she slipped one hand into the pocket of her white coat and covered her mouth with the other, sneaking a laugh.
Inside the lounge, the battle continued, with Evander holding Sophia’s wrists above her head.
"Mmm... Stomach hurts..." Sophia murmured indistinctly, furrowing her brows in pain. The man’s body was heavy, pressing down on her, and her stomach as well.
Hearing Sophia’s complaints, Evander quickly propped himself up, nervously lifting her shirt while asking, "What’s wrong, where does it hurt? Let me see..."
"Get lost! Go away..." Sophia shouted, suddenly crying, the strong woman now in tears. She kicked Evander in the shoulder, causing him to topple onto the bed, but he wasn’t angry. He took a breath and then let it out in defeat.
