Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 710 - 709: It Wasn’t Done to Harm Serena Sullivan on Purpose
"I really didn’t do anything to her!"
June Kane said, pursing her lips into a smile.
"Mom." Felicity Sterling tugged at June’s sleeve, wanting to tell her what had happened. June turned to glare at her, shouting, "Shut up!"
Felicity’s eyes reddened, her head bowed, afraid to speak under June’s reprimand.
"Simon."
June smiled as she walked toward Simon Sterling, "Serena is your daughter, how could I harm her?"
"Did she say something to you guys?"
Serena Sullivan had left directly with Ethan Grant without saying a word to Simon and the others, prompting June’s reckless remarks in a panic.
Surrounded by so many people, Simon and Wyatt Sterling both looked at June coldly, chilling her inside, as she wondered why they were acting this way.
"Ha ha," one guest couldn’t hold back and laughed before Simon could respond.
"June Kane is too shameless, cruelly pushing the Eldest Miss Sterling into the sea and still crying innocence here!"
"Truly, knowing someone’s face doesn’t mean knowing their heart! Appears kind on the outside, but evil at the core."
"No wonder Simon wants a divorce from her, if it were me, I’d divorce too."
Guests’ voices chimed in one after another, adding to June’s panic.
"Simon!" She hurriedly reached out to grab Simon’s hand, barely touching him before Simon pushed her hand away.
He looked at June icily; earlier, there wasn’t sufficient evidence, so he waited patiently for June to slip up.
Now that June had confessed everything, the hatred he felt was openly displayed on his face.
"June Kane, I will not let this go lightly!" Simon said, turning to leave. Felicity quickly stepped forward, grabbing Simon’s clothes, "Dad, please help Mom.
"She didn’t intentionally push Serena into the sea."
"What do you mean I pushed Serena into the sea!" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
June was not moved by Felicity’s defense, instead angrily rebuking, "Serena nearly drowned, what does that have to do with me!"
"Simon!" June said tearfully, looking at Simon, "Don’t be fooled; I am..."
The word "innocent" hadn’t left her mouth before a recording started playing from First Mrs. Sterling’s phone.
"You say you, a worthless person, what right do you have to exist in this world."
"You’re almost dead, so die sooner, saving everyone from being displeased, right!"
"I came to The Sterling Family’s island specifically to deliver this message to you."
...
This wasn’t what she had just said in the lounge with Serena Sullivan, so why was it in First Mrs. Sterling’s phone? And she had someone take Serena’s phone and watch. How could it have been recorded!
Could it be Serena hid a listening device!
At that thought, June’s face turned pale, wanting to say something to Simon, but Simon turned and quickly left.
"Wait for the police to come over." First Mrs. Sterling turned off her phone, glared at June hatefully, and left with James Sterling.
"Grandpa, Grandma!"
Seeing that Simon wasn’t willing to give June a chance and realizing the police were about to arrive, Felicity looked in panic at the elder Sterling gentleman and missus.
The elder Sterling gentleman remained silent, with a stern face, following First Mrs. Sterling and the others, leaving The Ford Family.
The elder Sterling missus, always indulgent to Felicity, seeing Felicity frightened and crying, softened her tone, "Felicity, your mom has to face the consequences of her actions."
After saying that, the elder Sterling missus also left.
No matter how much she loved Felicity, it was impossible to stop the rest of The Sterling Family from taking action against June Kane for Felicity’s sake.
