Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 840: Whose Daughter Is She
"Okay."
Serena Sullivan finished her notes and escorted Nina Monroe out.
In her studio, Serena left the wheelchair, and when she stepped out, Nina looked at her legs.
"Mrs. Grant’s legs have completely healed."
"Hmm."
Serena responded, having little to discuss with Nina outside of the design drafts.
So, they’re still not quite friends.
"I’ll be going now." Nina, being quite perceptive, decided to leave since there wasn’t much to discuss with Serena.
She didn’t approve of Mrs. Kane’s relentless attempts to curry favor with The Sterling Family.
Just after speaking, her phone rang from her bag, and right in front of Serena, Nina answered it.
Serena was close enough to faintly hear a man’s voice through Nina’s phone.
Then she heard Nina, who had turned around, call into the phone, "Dad!"
That title!
Serena turned around, thinking she misheard.
Did she mishear the man’s voice on the phone, or did she mishear Nina calling the "man" dad?
Serena glanced over at Nina walking and talking on the phone.
"Dad, I’ll come to The Pearl Garden a bit later."
The Pearl Garden?
Having stayed in the Imperial Capital for quite some time, Serena knew about the city’s renowned gardens.
Among them was The Pearl Garden, which Nina mentioned.
Nina is Wendy Monroe’s niece, that is, the daughter of Wendy’s brother.
Serena heard Claire mention that Wendy’s brother was a worthless person, addicted to gambling and troublesome.
That he could raise a daughter like Nina already puzzled Serena.
Yet, he could live in The Pearl Garden.
A garden of that stature in the Imperial Capital requires more than wealth; it requires status.
Could Wendy’s brother be leveraging connections with the Ford Family?
From Serena’s observations, Wendy isn’t someone who values relationships; she values profit instead.
Someone who values profit is unlikely to give up a premium property for her brother to live in.
Especially when the brother is incompetent!
Serena thought with confusion, unaware that Wyatt Sterling had arrived.
"Serena, what are you thinking about?"
Wyatt asked in bewilderment.
"Oh." Serena snapped out of it, "Brother."
She greeted him and then pointed to the drafts on the table, "Miss Monroe came over to discuss the necklace she’ll wear at her birthday."
"Which Miss Monroe?"
Wyatt’s voice turned indifferent.
"Wendy Monroe’s niece."
At the mention of the name, Wyatt’s expression darkened immediately, "Serena, how could you do business like that?"
"The Kane Family, you know what they’re like."
"Nina isn’t part of the Kane Family."
Serena explained, puzzled as she looked at Wyatt; didn’t her brother know she took the order from Nina?
"Even if she’s not part of the Kane Family, she’s been corrupted by them."
Wyatt said coldly.
Serena didn’t argue with Wyatt about this matter; her impression of Nina wasn’t that bad.
"Brother, there’s something I’d like your help with?"
Hearing his sister needing assistance, Wyatt immediately brightened up.
Usually, Serena had Ethan Grant and Simon Sterling around, leaving little room for her brother to step in.
"I want you to investigate someone."
"Who?"
"Wendy Monroe’s brother."
Serena said, "And check if he’s living in The Pearl Garden."
"Wendy Monroe’s brother?"
Wyatt looked at Serena in surprise, unclear why she wanted to investigate that person.
"Is Wendy opposing you again, telling you not to accept Nina’s project?" Wyatt followed up with Serena.
Serena shook her head with a smile, "No!"
"I just want to know about something."
Although the result of this matter doesn’t have much to do with her.
Who Nina’s father is shouldn’t intrigue her so much.
But Serena just wanted to know.
If it turned out to be like her guess, then her impression of that man would be overturned.
