Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 844: He Admitted It By Default
After the marriage, he was even more indifferent to her. To gain his attention, she forced herself into becoming a madwoman step by step.
"Once, he drank a lot at home and called me over. I went, and then..."
"I already liked him. I didn’t mind that he acted recklessly with me under the influence. The next day when he woke up, he was willing to marry me."
"I thought, after chasing him for so long, I’d finally reaped the rewards."
Renee Grant said, tears falling even more fiercely. This was a past she was unwilling to recall.
Later, she didn’t even know how the rumors changed, saying she drugged him.
Felix Lockwood never defended her.
She just wanted, after marriage, to warm Felix Lockwood’s heart, so that he could fall in love with her.
"Serena Sullivan, I treated him with all my heart. Whatever project he wanted from The Lockwood Corporation, I would ask my father to help."
"He wanted to control The Lockwood Corporation, so I thought of an alliance between The Grant Family and The Sterling Family to significantly aid him."
"I did everything I should, but in the end, he still didn’t want me."
The more Renee Grant spoke, the more it hurt her heart. Who can accept being betrayed after giving so much!
She wasn’t the kind of woman with strong self-control, encountering such things only made her want to find an outlet.
This outlet was Claire Sullivan.
"Hmm." Serena Sullivan listened, digesting the facts Renee Grant mentioned.
The truth was completely different from what she had heard before. She wasn’t sure if Renee Grant was lying for sympathy or if the rumors were indeed false.
"My mom couldn’t possibly be with Felix Lockwood."
Serena replied with certainty.
"Why not?"
Renee Grant wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes and said firmly, "Someone saw the three of them having a meal together."
"And Claire Sullivan had just arrived in the Imperial Capital; he followed her there, and these days, he’s been visiting Claire Sullivan frequently."
"If it’s not Claire Sullivan, then who is it?"
"You just said someone saw them dining together?"
Ethan Grant spoke up, also shocked by what Renee Grant had just revealed.
"Who?"
"I don’t know who it was, but she sent me a photo."
"The photo? Where is it?" Serena asked.
"In Solaria. I didn’t bring it with me."
"Does the photo show my mom’s face?"
"No."
Renee Grant recalled the contents of the photo, "However, the hairstyle and clothing were exactly the same as Claire Sullivan’s."
"Besides, Felix Lockwood has always liked Claire Sullivan."
A single photo and this bit of history convinced Renee Grant that Felix Lockwood and Claire Sullivan had an illegitimate daughter.
"Do you know who the illegitimate daughter is? Have you ever seen her?" Serena asked again.
Renee Grant shook her head, "The photo didn’t capture the girl either."
"So you just assumed this matter?"
Serena was astonished.
"Because the person who sent the photo also wrote a line."
"What did the line say?" Ethan Grant curiously asked, wondering what content made Renee Grant conclude that Claire Sullivan and Felix Lockwood had an illegitimate daughter.
The result was, Renee Grant replied, "It said, they have an illegitimate daughter."
That was what was written on the back of the photo.
Serena and Ethan Grant were speechless for a moment.
Renee Grant was too easily deceived.
"How can a single photo and a line clarify anything?" Ethan Grant said calmly, "Can’t you be more rational? Even if Felix Lockwood likes Claire Sullivan, it doesn’t mean anything."
Renee Grant countered, "I have lived with him for so many years. He really does go to the Imperial Capital every so often. Once, I even caught him buying girls’ clothes at the mall."
As a result of her memories, she was convinced.
"He is very infatuated with Claire Sullivan. Also, I asked him, and he admitted it!"
