Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 851: Already Heartbroken by Them
"I cannot let him carry a great-grandson!"
"But a great-grandchild is fine."
Finn Chandler smiled faintly; she dared not tell Mrs. Chambers and Pearl Chambers about her pregnancy.
"How shameless you are!"
Unable to hold back, Mrs. Chambers scolded first.
"How am I shameless?"
Finn asked with amusement, "Men and women in love, why is that shameless!"
"The two of you together, it’s just shameless!"
Pearl Chambers, who kept many men hanging outside, always thought of herself and never considered Finn.
If Finn did not consider herself, then truly no one would.
"Finn!"
Mrs. Chambers shouted sternly, glaring at Finn with gritted teeth, "Anyway, you cannot date!"
"No!" Pearl caught the words, still smiling at Finn, "Finn, you can’t date now."
"In a few years, when Grandpa completely gives The Chambers Corporation to you, or he hasn’t..."
"He’s gone."
"Doing so is all gain and no loss for you."
Pearl spoke seriously, as if she were a fair mediator, making the best decision for Finn.
"Wait a few more years?"
Finn repeated the words, and Pearl thought she agreed, her tone lightening.
"Take a step back, both you and Mom."
"We won’t stop you from being with Julian Ford, and we’ll help keep your whereabouts a secret."
"However, you still have to listen to Mom and marry Linda."
This idea was truly a compromise Mrs. Chambers made under Pearl’s persuasion.
She had never considered Finn’s future or whether Finn could lead a happier life.
To her, Finn was just a pawn.
"This should do, right!"
Mrs. Chambers sneered coldly, "Raised you this much, not a bit of filial piety."
"Will you die without a man?"
Deep down, just a lowly wench, who likes being slept with by men!
"This matter is just decided!"
Mrs. Chambers’ voice turned even colder and more resolute, "Finn, my patience is limited!"
Mrs. Chambers stared at Finn with hatred; if possible, she didn’t want Finn to go out looking for a man. What if the patriarch and Mr. Chambers found out!
"Ha ha!"
Finn laughed, looking at Mrs. Chambers full of sarcasm; when she was young and obedient, she never thought Mrs. Chambers’ demands were wrong.
Now it seems, Mrs. Chambers didn’t love her daughter at all.
"Aren’t you satisfied yet?"
Mrs. Chambers’ voice grew stern, laced with a bit of panic. She stepped forward, coldly questioning Finn, "Finn, haven’t you thought about who gave you everything you have now!"
"Without me and The Chambers Family, what do you think you are!"
"Yes!"
Finn replied loudly, "I’m just the daughter of a mistress!"
The word "mistress" directly pierced Mrs. Chambers and Pearl Chambers.
They cared more about this identity than Finn did, very concerned about appearances in front of both outsiders and The Chambers Family, not allowing anyone to tarnish them with their past identity.
But actually, if Finn hadn’t won the patriarch’s favor among Mr. Chambers’ many sons, Mrs. Chambers would still be a lover, no, a discarded lover.
"Or rather, if you hadn’t mercifully given birth to me, I would already be a pool of blood."
"Mrs. Chambers, you may be willing to be someone else’s lover, a mistress, but I am not!"
"I am even less willing to use a false identity to be with the man I love!"
As Finn spoke further, her voice grew piercing; she no longer wished to deceive Julian Ford.
