Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 991: I Don’t Think We Won’t Make It
Evelyn Linton dashed into the room and immediately burrowed under her blanket.
She hadn’t yet sorted out her feelings but felt inexplicably excited and thrilled, rolling over several times under the blanket on the bed.
Her hand rested on her lips, recalling the kiss just now, as if she could still feel the warm and soft touch lingering on her lips.
Unable to help but secretly smile and blush, she shyly pulled the blanket up higher.
The issue that had troubled her all night finally settled, as instead of pondering how much truth Scott Sutton’s drunken words held, her mind now envisioned a future with him...
With these wonderful fantasies, she fell back into a deep sleep under the soft morning sunlight...
At noon, Evelyn Linton spent an hour putting on makeup and half an hour worrying about what to wear.
Sitting in the car, she nervously picked at her fingers.
Scott Sutton noticed her anxiety and chuckled while soothing her, "You met them last night, why so nervous again?"
Evelyn glared at him and murmured quietly, "It’s because of what happened last night that I don’t know how to face them. Besides, I’ve just agreed to date you, and you’re already rushing to take me home. What if we don’t work out, how will you explain to your family?"
Scott Sutton laughed easily, saying, "That’s my problem to face, why are you nervous? Anyway, I don’t think we won’t work out."
Feeling a bit shy, Evelyn turned her head to look out the window.
Tense all the way there, as the car drove into the yard, she saw a large family standing at the entrance looking out, which made her more uneasy.
Scott Sutton didn’t expect such a scene, but he comforted Evelyn by saying, "Don’t worry, they’re just curious, no malice intended. My family is easy to get along with."
Despite this reassurance, Evelyn still felt a bit timid and weak-kneed when she got out of the car.
Hazel Yates was the first to come over enthusiastically and took Evelyn’s arm, saying, "Didn’t host you well last night, Evelyn, don’t take it to heart."
Evelyn smiled awkwardly, glanced at Scott Sutton, and said, pressing her lips, "He didn’t arrange it well, came by so late at night, disturbing everyone’s rest."
"No disturbance at all, come in and sit down, the meal is ready."
Phoebe King leaned close to Audrey Sutton’s ear, chuckling, "Turns out your fourth brother likes this obedient type."
Audrey Sutton said thoughtfully, "I feel like I’ve seen this girl somewhere, she looks so familiar."
Phoebe King scrutinized Evelyn from a distance, guessing, "Could she be a celebrity?"
Laura Yates said, "Seems like she’s an online influencer, selling clothes. I quite like her stuff."
"Oh~ No wonder Audrey said she looks familiar, must have seen her live stream somewhere."
Audrey Sutton remained silent, just feeling particularly that Evelyn looked familiar, yet couldn’t recall where she’d seen her, but likely it wasn’t online.
Scott Sutton unexpectedly brought his girlfriend home, making Arthur Sutton once again the focal point for marriage pressure.
Watching his brothers each find their happiness, Arthur felt anxious and troubled himself, wishing he could introduce his wife and children to everyone right away.
But Janelle Tollman seemed unable to accept him just yet, even deliberately avoiding him, with their two kids noticeably distant from him.
Since Janelle learned the truth, any goodwill carefully cultivated seemed to gradually reset to zero.
The hardest part was that man named Wayne Archer.
Arthur Sutton believed it was Wayne’s interference that made Janelle reluctant to engage with him.
Note: The third brother’s story will be written as a separate Chapter, so not much is mentioned here. Once the Double Penny story is done, the spin-offs will start; well, Double Penny is kind of a separate spin-off too. In any case, all the storylines mentioned will be completed, thanks for following along everyone~
