Mummy Evolution - Chapter 145: Strong
Heartbeat.
Heartbeat that echoes like an Earthquake.
Sett breathed in, out, his whole body red as if he were molten metal and not flesh.

What was the speed of sound?
Roughly 1,225 kilometers per hour. šš»ššššš«š£š¤šššµ.šš¤š¢
That was around how fast Sett had been just a few hours ago, but nowāhe could move, he could see, he could exist, at a much, much faster level. This was not the realm of reflexes, senses, or physical speed anymoreāhis body surpassed most natural laws.
He was 92 times faster than the speed of sound.
He was so strong, he could lift entire cities.
He was so strong, normal human Tier 4s did not even amount to shit in front of him.
This was strength.
This was potential.
This was beyond human.
Sett felt his heartrate explode.
Calm, he calculated in his mind.
My body went through brutal stress. The tribulation fire, the deathless form's super quick healing. Everything.
His blood pressure was at an all time high, his heart was at the verge of self destruction. Strength was good, speed was good, but growth this fast? It was not good. On an average human body, at least.
Even as Sett remained breathing like a slobbered drunk, he felt his body stabilizing.
He immediately knew why.
Limitless God Body.
It was a body constitution meant to grow limitlessly. How could it be affected by a growth like the one Sett had just gone through?
His body became hot, then cooled down.
Yet, Sett knew he was still not entirely in the safe zone.
He looked around. He was still in the Kemet Tomb, just much further away from any danger zones. And Faceless was in a protective distance away from himāit was good. Now, he couldā
Ah.
I am done.
Sett's world darkened.
ā
An unknown stretch of time slipped by.
Sett floated in a vast, viscous dark, his body weightless, his mind untethered. Around him, a worldāor something pretending to be oneāstirred. It had no ground, no sky, only an endless churn of writhing, colorless shapes, folding and unfolding like a sea of breathing flesh. Somewhere in that unplace, thin spires twisted up from the nothingness, stretching like fingers clawing toward a light that wasn't there.
The air (if it was air) vibrated with sounds too low for hearingāfelt instead as a gnawing pressure inside the bones.
Sett drifted through it, uncomprehending.
But then the dream twisted.
The formless things began to turn toward himāor perhaps he toward themāand a sharp, alien will filled the void, pressing against him like an invisible hand on his chest. Rejection flooded the space. He was not wanted here. Not allowed.
A chorus of shrieking voices, cold and vicious, cracked open the silence:
"Unholy! Disgusting! Vanish! From! The! God! World!"
The words sliced through him like glass shards in a current.
Sett gasped.
His golden eyes snapped open.
The world slammed back into focusāand he found himself staring straight into Zainah's face.
She was so close he could count the trembling of her lashes, the faintest quiver at the corner of her mouth. Her eyes were squeezed shut, her breath hitching. Her lips hovered a breath away from hisāand then, thinking him lost to sleep, she leaned in.
Soft, careful, clumsy with fear, her mouth brushed hisāthen gave a shy, nibbling kiss, like a guilty secret stolen from a dream.
In that exact heartbeat, Sett's body, starved for air, drew in a sharp, involuntary breath.
Zainah froze.
Her eyes snapped open wide with terrorāand for a long, suspended second, they simply stared at each other, faces inches apart, the stolen moment hanging between them like a fragile thread.
She knew.
He was awake.
"You kissed me," he said groggily.
She gulped. Then asked with a pout: "So what?"
Sett took a deep breath. Kissed back.
"Something is going to happen soon," he said. "I can feel it."
She frowned. "You seem somewhat nervous."
"Nervous?"
Sett stood up, Zainah ending up in his arms. He walked out of the tent with her still attached to him, thenāhe looked out into the evening sky. "How long has it been since I fell asleep?"
"Two days."
"Did anything happen in the time?"
"A giant bird attacked the camp, Faceless killed it. We cooked it for dinner the other day."
Nothing major then.
Sett looked towards the other end of the desert.
The air was cool on his skin. The sun was warm on his mind. The shadows were long and deep.
"The desert is breathing," he said. "The air does not feel good."
Zainah's green eyes looked at him with an intrigued gaze.
Sett felt his gut tighten.
Something really bad is coming. I don't know what, but it is coming.
Is it the Lord Guardian?
No.
That guy did not have such terror in him. At most, he was slightly better than your average Tier 5 Tomb Raider. Such people should not be able to give him such deadly sensationāunless they had an elaborate trap prepared for him.
Instinct.
Instinct was a very real thing for someone as strong as Sett.
The body had its own senses that the mind could not access, and when survival was at stakeāthese tingly sensations are often very, very real. From the moment Sett had been reborn, he had never truly felt this sort of life or death threat.
Everything, almost everything, had been under his control.
After al, he was a king fighting with the commoners these daysānothing was truly a match to him. He was just warming up before entering the big world.
Yet, now, this sensation gave Sett serious jitters.
I need strength. More strength. Much more strength. As soon as possible. Whatever is coming is no common enemy.
"Zainah, where is Zarah?"
"Eh, in the other tent. She was sparring with the monkey earlier, so I think she is tired."
"Good, go get her."
Zainah nodded weirdly and left his arms. She went directly for Zarah.
"Faceless, here."
Faceless appeared out of nowhere. "What is your command, master?"
