The excavation of the transferred rock-mud mountain is progressing quite smoothly, with the soil layer and rubble atop it being systematically stripped away to gradually reveal the objects buried beneath.

Besides the usual enormous exotic beast skeletons found in the Giant Beast Bone Field, many items cleared away show obvious traces of being man-made. The most common among them are a type of curved metal base, typically cast from some corrosion-resistant dark alloy, with neatly arranged nail holes along the edges.

Attached to the bases are often large, thick but shattered transparent material fragments, resembling glass but with a more crystalline and sturdy texture.

On the surfaces of these bases and "glass" fragments, some finely etched runes can still be distinguished; they are reinforcement-type magic runes that have long lost their functionality.

What is this?

Reinforced large glass jars?

Somehow, the style feels quite familiar.

After pondering for a while, Lin Jun finally recalled the source of this sense of familiarity.

The perspective shifts to the place where the Heart of Chis was first seen.

It was a secret chamber with a broken entrance, where the Heart of Chis was originally strung between two collapsed pillars, surrounded by several already broken metal instruments.

Now, upon comparison, the styles do seem rather similar.

There should be some connection between them, but the specifics remain unknown.

As the digging continues, more remnants of glass jars are uncovered, varying in size, with the largest having a diameter of over a hundred meters.

The most intact among them is a jar with a bottom diameter of less than thirty centimeters.

The jar’s shell is almost complete, except for a small hole in the glass, and inside the jar, surprisingly, is a preserved small exotic beast skeleton!

It’s important to know that due to the space collapse of the Underground City, most of the surviving remains are large exotic beast skeletons, making such a well-preserved small exotic beast skeleton extremely rare.

But the point of Lin Jun’s astonishment is not this, but rather the combination of this glass jar and the exotic beast inside reminded him of something else.

An experiment?

On second thought, it seems not entirely unreasonable.

After all, the Thirteenth Dungeon under my control also preserves detailed records of the God of Light’s experimentation with the "Sunstone" in its annexed space!

It’s just that the experiment site might not be inside the space, or the main apparatus has been transferred.

This annexed space of the Giant Beast Bone Field must have been used by some big shot for experimenting as well.

With this in mind, those exotic beasts must be the experiment subjects, right?

However, soaking things in glass jars, although inscribed with magic runes, has a kind of technological phantom view, feeling very advanced!

Lin Jun also discovered that these jar bases are engraved with identifiers for each experiment subject.

Most are simple numerical codes, like "012", "047", "109".

Yet on one severely damaged base fragment, the markings are not numerical. It’s a line of fragmented Demon Race text, most of which is illegible, with only the word "sin" barely discernible.

Sinner? Or... Seven Sins?

Unfortunately, this jar is severely damaged; the text is blurred, and what it once contained is unknown.

All excavated artifacts have been carefully stored for future research.

The excavation work continues toward the core of the rock-mud mountain, and finally, after removing the last slab of rock mixed with bone fragments, the scene below brings all the dwarf miners to a halt.

A black "wall" appears before them.

A dwarf foreman tentatively touches the black surface with the tip of a mining pick.

No sound, no recoil, but pushed away by an irresistible repulsion force. He grits his teeth, uses all his strength to swing the pick down, and the result is unchanged; not a speck of debris is shaved off.

Some even tried magic like flame impact or Ice Cone Skill, but it was like drops of water falling into a desert, silently obliterated.

Lin Jun sees this for the first time too; is this what the outside of an annexed space looks like?

With a try-it-and-see mindset, Puki steps on the space’s exterior shell, and with spiritual power, gives it a familiar nudge.

In the next second, under the astonished gaze of all the diggers around, that round Puki disappears suddenly as if erased from paper by a rubber eraser!

The crowd stirs; instinctively, people take a few steps back, their faces a mix of fear and confusion, worried that they might also be silently swallowed by that bizarre black wall.

But actually, their worries are unnecessary.

Although the former Underground City to which this annexed space was attached has long collapsed, and the space itself partially embedded into the main world, it can’t simply be entered by merely approaching and touching.

Even though its "lock" has failed, entering still requires the ability to find its "door handle".

Lin Jun, who frequently traverses the annexed space of his own Underground City, knows the ins and outs so well that he can come and go as he pleases.

Once inside, Lin Jun sees more jars!

However, unlike the broken remains outside, most jars here are relatively intact, and a few even have complete exotic beasts immersed within.

But Lin Jun can’t see their panels, which means the bodies, although intact, are actually dead, right?

Lin Jun doesn’t hurry to study these experiment subjects but instead directs Puki to sense the other side, where familiar information blocks are!

No information blocks were found during previous excavations, probably because these blocks can only exist in environments similar to the Abyss-like annexed spaces.

The fusion of part of the annexed spaces signifies that there must be some information block data.

Nonetheless, for now, it’s better to see what information remains here and what can be found.

Puki extends a tentacle and taps into the nearest information block.

Then Lin Jun sees familiar record formats:

This seems to be the God of Light’s project prior to the Sunstone.

Unfortunately, Lin Jun’s Blood Disaster is currently kept by that Blood Race Emperor, or else he could try out this intriguing mutation playstyle now.

Looking at the nearby information blocks, Lin Jun casually selects one and stretches out his tentacle once more.

Based on experience, these information blocks are likely all related to Blood Disaster experiment records; Lin Jun plans to look at several more before studying the contents of those jars.
