My Beasts Grind Proficiency For Me
Chapter 439 - 273: Bishui Zhang Family (Part 2)
Even with Yang Jing’s Core Formation Cultivation, the rush of Spiritual Qi made him feel refreshed, his breathing clearing.
After seeing the Minister off, he had brought the Spiritual Eye Object into his Inner World, placing it where the mountain peak and the great river met.
Spiritual Qi erupted.
The Spiritual Qi in the once-thin atmosphere of the Inner World began to skyrocket the moment the Spiritual Eye Object was moved in. Since the Inner World wasn’t vast, its Spiritual Qi concentration quickly reached a limit, approaching the level of Tier Three Middle Grade.
Nourished by the Spiritual Qi, the Inner World’s Spiritual Essence surged. The branches of the Pure Yang Apricot Tree rustled loudly, as if in celebration.
For Yang Jing, the most direct benefit of the increased Spiritual Qi concentration was his ability to directly refine it using the Five Elements Wheel. This method was nearly twice as fast as absorbing Spiritual Qi from the Nine Heavens World.
If not for the fact that Summoning Demons enhanced his physique and Eye Power, Yang Jing would no longer need to rely on that method to increase his strength.
With a shift of his body, Yang Jing appeared in the subterranean Yin Qi World.
The Wanhua Child was sitting on a throne carved from Spiritual Jade, watching two Ox Power Demons wrestle. A few other Ox Power Demons stood by to serve, holding roasted Spider Demon legs.
The Yin Qi World was piled high with the hollowed-out carapaces of Yin Evil Spider Demons and the remains of Starfall True Demons. A Demon Intent saturated with hatred and agony coiled around them.
As the Pure Yang Apricot Tree was planted, the Yang Qi on the surface world grew more vigorous, and in turn, the Yin Qi in the Yin Qi World grew colder and more intense. If any Yin Evil Spider Demon or Starfall True Demon were to witness such a scene, they would likely be scared to death on the spot.
It was only thanks to the Wanhua Child’s exceptionally refined Nine Illusion Mirage Demon Qi that he could continuously lure Yin Evil Spider Demons and Starfall True Demons into his trap.
Suddenly, the world rumbled. The Spiritual Mechanism within the Yin Qi World surged, and the roiling Yin Qi became so frigid that a layer of white frost condensed upon the remains of the Celestial Demons.
Sensing the surging Spiritual Qi within the Inner World, the Wanhua Child immediately leaped from his throne and had the other Celestial Demons form two neat rows.
Sure enough, a moment later, Yang Jing’s figure appeared in the Yin Qi World.
"Master!"
The moment the Wanhua Child saw Yang Jing, he eagerly came forward and bowed.
Yang Jing glanced at him. As the master of the Inner World, he was naturally aware of the Wanhua Child’s minor indulgences. But since the Child performed his duties exceptionally well and the summoned Celestial Demons never caused any trouble, Yang Jing simply chose to look the other way.
Because they could refine the Demon Intent that Yang Jing didn’t need, these Ox Power Demons’ Power increased rapidly. Nearly half of them had already advanced to become Tier Two Great Demons.
However, limited by their Innate aptitude, the Ox Power Demons’ growth in Power slowed considerably after they advanced to become Tier Two Great Demons.
After inspecting the changes in the Yin Qi World, Yang Jing said to the Wanhua Child,
"When you have nothing else to do, you can tidy up this Yin Qi World. Don’t just pile up the corpses of these Celestial Demons so haphazardly. It might make the newly summoned ones lose heart and seek a quick death. I’ll have only refined half of one before it kills itself."
Celestial Demons weren’t an infinitely renewable resource, after all. With the high frequency of summons from the Celestial Demon Park, even the dull-witted Starfall True Demons had grown wary, making them harder to summon.
So, Yang Jing simply had the Wanhua Child pause Demon Summoning for a while.
"Understood!"
The Wanhua Child’s eyes lit up. He had grown tired of watching the Ox Power Demons wrestle day in and day out. They had strength to spare, so it was the perfect opportunity to have them build a palace in the Celestial Demon Park.
Yang Jing inspected the changes in his Inner World one last time before exiting.
His time was precious. The sooner he dealt with the hidden threat of the Bishui Zhang Family, the sooner he could obtain the refining method for the Flying Boat.
Back in the outside world, Yang Jing decided to only take Chi Yu and Yellow Foot with him. Iron Head, Yinjiao, and Ji Feng were busy with the True Spirit Lineage’s business and inscribing the Restrictions of the Blood Spirit Scripture.
Chi Yu was making incredible progress with the Blood Spirit Scripture, and her cultivation had already recovered to the Fifth Layer of Qi Refining. Yellow Foot’s cultivation had reached Qi Refining Perfection, and he was ready to channel his Magical Power for Foundation Establishment at any moment.
This trip would be a good opportunity for them to see the world.
Yang Jing redeemed a map of the Western Continent from the Scripture Collection Tower. It was incredibly detailed, marking the borders of the Western Continent’s thirty-six Fiefdoms, the territories of the various major families, and the paths of the Spirit Veins.
This map was considered a secret within the Five Elements True Spirit Sect. If not for Yang Jing’s status as a True Disciple, he would have been unable to obtain it.
Even so, the map had a Restriction placed upon it. Only Yang Jing could read it. If it detected another person’s Divine Sense, the Jade Scroll would instantly self-destruct, erasing all its information.
"Let’s go."
After leaving the Five Elements True Spirit Sect, Yang Jing activated his Fetal Transformation Divine Techniques, changing his appearance to that of a white-haired old Daoist. Chi Yu and Yellow Foot disguised themselves as his Daoist Children, concealing their auras and altering their faces.
In the Celestial Square Marketplace next to the Five Elements True Spirit Sect, one could find Flying Boats that traveled to the various Fiefdoms. Most were cargo vessels, and the Arrays on them were far inferior to those on the massive ships that sailed the sea routes. They couldn’t handle the dangerous ocean voyages, but they were more than sufficient for self-protection while flying between the safe Fiefdoms. Furthermore, their flight speed was not the least bit slow.
"Is this the Flying Boat to the Lu Kingdom?"
Yang Jing led his two disciples to the front of a large Flying Boat.
Independent Cultivators and Innate Martial Artists making a living in the Celestial Square Marketplace were hauling cargo on their shoulders and in their arms. They loaded the goods onto smaller flying boats, which then shuttled the cargo into the main vessel’s hold.
With no special skills to speak of, only their brute strength, and an unwillingness to give up on the path of cultivation, they could only sell their labor to remain in the Celestial Square Marketplace.
A Steward was supervising the Independent Cultivators as they loaded the cargo. When he saw the old Daoist—Yang Jing in disguise—and sensed his Foundation Establishment Cultivation, his expression immediately grew respectful.
"Honored Daoist, this is indeed the Flying Boat of the Lu Kingdom’s Royal Family. May I ask your purpose for traveling to the Lu Kingdom?"
As a vessel of the Royal Family, not just anyone could board. Without reliable proof of identity, one couldn’t get on, even if there were empty seats.
If they were to accidentally bring a Tribulation Cultivator back to the Lu Kingdom, they would be held accountable.
"This old one’s name is Jiang Mengkun. I am an Independent Cultivator from the Lu Kingdom who was fortunate enough to enter the Five Elements True Spirit Sect. After whiling away half my life, I only managed to attain the status of an Inner Sect Disciple. Now, with my lifespan nearly gone, I plan to bring my granddaughter and grandson home to the Lu Kingdom to retire."
As he spoke, Yang Jing presented an Identity Jade Token.
Seeing that the Identity Jade Token was authentic, the Steward’s expression immediately became even more reverent.
An Inner Sect Disciple of the Six Sects might not be particularly noteworthy within their sect, but in a local Fiefdom, they were absolute VIPs.
The Independent Cultivators hauling cargo also looked on with envy. They lingered in the Celestial Square Marketplace for the chance to receive guidance on the Five Talisman Scripture, hoping to one day enter the Five Elements True Spirit Sect themselves.
"Honored Daoist, please, come aboard! The Royal Family of Lu is honored to welcome you home. There is a private cabin available on the Flying Boat; please make yourself comfortable. It will take another half a day to finish loading the cargo, and the Flying Boat will remain in the Celestial Square Marketplace for three days. During this time, feel free to explore the marketplace."
Yang Jing glanced at the cargo being loaded by the Independent Cultivators and nodded.
A good portion of the cargo they were handling consisted of products from the True Spirit Lineage, with Jia Wood Gourds and Bing Fire Gourds being the most numerous.
"This old Daoist has been away from home for a long time and has lost touch with the state of the Lu Kingdom," Yang Jing said. "If you have a moment to spare, Steward, I would appreciate it if you could tell me about it."
As he spoke, Yang Jing discreetly slipped five Spirit Stones into the Steward’s hand. When it came to being well-informed, stewards like this one, with Royal Family connections who traveled with the merchant flying boats, were second to none.
"Of course, of course!"
The Steward felt the weight of the Spirit Stones in his palm, and a wide grin spread across his face.
