My CEO HUSBAND:sign the divorce
Chapter 126: Who Do You Love?
I remained calm, revealing no emotion.
"Is that so?" I said lightly.
Then I looked at her and repeated the exact words Alexander had said to me in Nevaris City.
"I Need to explain myself Alicia.
"What do I need to do for you to hear me out?"
The sarcasm in my tune was unmistakable.
Lilian’s smug expression vanished instantly.
"Do you know who said that to me?" I continued coldly. "You deceived him into going to you that night... and the very next day, he followed me to the city where I was on a business trip".
"Pleading."i added,a mocking smile playing on my lips.
Lilian’s face twisted with fury.
"Alicia, how low can you sink?" she snapped. "Alexander doesn’t even like you. You’d better divorce him while you still can."
"I won’t divorce him."
I looked her straight in the eyes.
"Are you upset? What are you going to do about it?"
"You—!"
"If that’s all you called me here to say, I’m leaving."
"How about a bet?" Lilian said sharply. "Let’s see who Alexander chooses in the end."
I gave a faint smile.
"You’re only doing this for attention. I’m not interested in playing games with you."
I turned and began walking away.
Then a man’s voice sounded nearby.
"Why is Miss Lilian so angry on such a special occasion?"
The voice felt strangely familiar, but I didn’t turn back.
"Leave me alone!" Lilian shouted.
In the next second, I sensed movement rushing toward me from behind.
I stayed calm and instinctively stepped aside.
Lilian missed her target.
Her heel slipped on the edge of the stair.
"Ah—!"
A sharp, heart-wrenching scream pierced the air.
𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
She tumbled down the staircase.
"Lilian!"
Alexander rushed in from the side entrance. The moment he saw her sprawled at the bottom of the stairs, he ran over and gathered her into his arms.
"Are you alright?"
Lilian clung to him, her face pale, eyes brimming with tears.
"Alexander... it hurts so much..."
"Don’t speak." His voice was tight. "I’m taking you to the hospital."
He lifted her into his arms.
Then he looked up the staircase.
His expression darkened, as though he had seen something that wasn’t supposed to be there.
His gaze brushed over me for only a moment before he turned away.
when Alexander wasn’t looking, Lilian’s tears vanished.
She looked at me and smiled smugly.
Her lips moved silently.
I won.
I watched Alexander’s retreating figure and felt a sharp pang in my chest.
I closed my eyes and forced the feeling down.
Then I turned away.
Alexander’s POV
"What did you and Alicia talk about just now?" I asked once we reached the garage.
Lilian lowered her gaze and spoke softly.
"I only wanted to apologize to her... I didn’t expect Alicia to suddenly..."
She trailed off, but the meaning was obvious.
"I know Alicia hates me," she continued weakly. "I don’t blame her for doing that..."
I said nothing. My expression remained unreadable.
Then I looked at her coldly.
"How long have you been deceiving me like this?"
Lilian froze. Her eyes widened in shock. She clearly hadn’t expected me to see through her act.
"Alexander... what are you saying?"
I opened the car door with one hand and helped her inside before stepping back.
"I’ll call Jim to take you to the hospital."
She stiffened instantly and grabbed my arm.
"Alexander, aren’t you coming with me? I want you to take me..."
Her voice trembled.
"I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean it that way."
"Wait in the car. Jim will be here soon."
I pulled my arm free and turned to leave.
But suddenly, Lilian wrapped her arms around my waist from behind.
"Alexander..." she cried. "Are you really that eager to cut ties with me?"
Her voice broke into sobs.
"This is the last time. The very last time. Won’t you stay with me?"
She held on tighter.
"I’ve grown so used to you... and now you’re leaving. How can you be so cruel?"
My gaze remained cold.
"Then you’ll have to get used to it."
I pried her hands away.
"I’ll call Kendra to keep you company."
"I love you!" she cried desperately. "I can’t live without you!"
Her voice echoed through the empty garage.
"Alexander... you said you loved me too, didn’t you?"
She was crying openly now.
"If you’re worried about Nana’s health, I don’t need the title. I don’t need marriage. I just want to stay by your side!"
I remained silent.
My expression only hardened further.
I tore her hands from me and walked away without looking back.
But as I left, one question kept repeating in my mind.
Did I really love Lilian?
Even I no longer knew the answer.
And yet... my heart seemed to be telling me something else entirely.
Third person POV
Lilian stared at Alexander’s retreating figure, her face darkening with fury.
She gripped the back of the car seat so tightly that her nails dug into the leather.
How dare he leave her behind like that.
---
When Alicia stepped out of the hall, Aiden was already waiting nearby. The moment he saw her, he walked over.
"What happened?" he asked. "I saw CEO Blackwood carry Miss Lilian away just now?"
Alicia replied calmly, "Miss Lilian accidentally fell. CEO Blackwood took her to the hospital. The party is over now, let’s go."
"Alright."
The two of them headed toward the garage together.
They were just about to get into the car when a voice sounded behind them.
"Alicia."
She did not turn around.
It was Alexander’s voice.
Aiden paused, then turned to face him with a polite smile.
"CEO Blackwood, didn’t you just take Miss Lilian to the hospital?"
"The driver is taking her," Alexander replied flatly.
His gaze then shifted to Alicia.
"Alicia, I need to talk to you."
"I have nothing to say to you."
She answered without even glancing at him, her tone cold and indifferent.
Aiden looked at her in surprise and lightly tugged at her sleeve, silently signaling that she should not be so harsh.
Alexander’s expression remained unreadable as he turned to Aiden.
"Mr. Firestone, you may head back. I’ll drive Alicia."
As Alicia’s nominal brother and one of the investors in Aiden’s production, Alexander held enough authority that Aiden had little room to refuse.
Still, the tension between Alexander and Alicia was obvious.
Aiden looked at Alicia hesitantly.
"Do you need me to take you instead?"
She shook her head without hesitation.
"You can go ahead."
Alicia knew that if she did not settle things with Alexander tonight, he would not let the matter go.
And she had no intention of dragging Aiden into their mess.
Seeing her decision, Aiden nodded.
"Alright. I’ll head back first."
Then he leaned closer and spoke softly beside her ear.
"If there’s any issue with CEO Blackwood, try to resolve it properly. If anything happens, call me."
If only it were that simple... Alicia thought silently.
She appreciated his concern and gave him a gentle nod.
"Alright. Thank you."
But from where Alexander stood, the scene looked far too intimate.
His already dark gaze grew colder still.
Moments later, Aiden’s car pulled out of the garage.
The vast space fell silent.
Apart from the rows of parked cars, only Alexander and Alicia remained.
Alicia glanced at Alexander, her expression blank.
"What is this?" she asked coolly. "Did you come to reprimand me for pushing Miss Lilian?"
"Alicia, that’s not it." Alexander’s brows tightened. "I know you would never do something like that."
"Since that’s not the reason, then I’ll be leaving."
She turned to go.
Alexander stepped forward at once and caught her wrist.
"Let me take you home."
Alicia immediately pulled free.
"I don’t need you to."
"Alicia!"
She paused and looked back, her eyes cold.
"What more does CEO Blackwood have to say?"
Her sarcasm hit him like a stone to the chest.
Alexander drew a slow breath....
