My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 1848 - 1846: A Letter from an Old Acquaintance
"The letter for me."
Tang Ming was slightly taken aback, confused as he took the letter in his hand.
"Sorry for disturbing you. I’ll take my leave now."
The attendant left after completing his task.
"What era is this, and still playing with letters?"
Tang Ming pouted, opened the envelope, and his expression changed dramatically.
"Old friend from the past, meet in the woods outside the east city, someone who misses you."
"My old friend? Could it be Wei’er?"
Tang Ming’s first thought was Xia Wei’er. This area belonged to Rainbow Cloud Peak, and he had gained fame in the medical competition. If Wei’er saw it, she would definitely come to see him.
"It must be Wei’er, it must be Wei’er."
Thinking of this possibility, Tang Ming couldn’t help but get excited, getting dressed at the fastest speed and leaving the hotel for the eastern suburb of Goose City.
After arriving in the woods of the eastern suburbs, Tang Ming called out excitedly to his surroundings, "Wei’er, is that you? I’m here, come out and meet me."
Tang Ming shouted for a long time but received no response.
"What’s going on? Could it be that someone was playing a prank, but it’s so early, there’s no way it would affect my participation in the medical competition?"
Tang Ming furrowed his brow in frustration.
Just as Tang Ming was feeling disappointed, he suddenly felt a gust of wind at his back.
"How dare you!"
Tang Ming snorted coldly, instinctively moving his body to avoid the attack from behind, watching as a shovel narrowly missed hitting him.
"Oh my, it turns out it’s a tricky character."
A voice filled with surprise and doubt echoed.
"You...you’re Zhang Baobao."
After stabilizing himself, Tang Ming looked in shock at the person who ambushed him, who turned out to be his opponent from the previous round.
"Yes, I am Zhang Baobao."
Zhang Baobao, carrying a shovel, glared menacingly at Tang Ming, "If you’re smart, just let me bury you, save me the trouble."
"Are you nuts? You’ve already been eliminated, I’m not your enemy anymore, why bury me?"
Tang Ming glared at Zhang Baobao, unable to figure out what this guy was thinking.
"Well, burying you isn’t for me; after all, you’re a dangerous person. I can’t let you participate in the medical competition."
Zhang Baobao tilted his head, looking at Tang Ming with a serious expression.
"You, you crazy! I’m too lazy to deal with you."
Tang Ming cursed in frustration, turning to leave.
"Did I say you could leave?"
Zhang Baobao snorted coldly, and then an overwhelming aura erupted.
Tang Ming’s eyes widened suddenly, and his body froze in shock as he exclaimed, "You’re actually a Martial General?"
"Bang!"
In a moment of brief astonishment, Tang Ming felt a sharp pain at the back of his head and began to feel dizzy.
"Wow, what a troublesome kid, actually a martial master at peak level."
Zhang Baobao, carrying a shovel, dragged Tang Ming by the collar towards the depths of the woods.
It wasn’t long before Tang Ming woke up; a martial master at peak level indeed had a strong physique. A normal person might have been unconscious for a day from such a blow.
Opening his eyes, Tang Ming found himself tied up tightly with ropes, while Zhang Baobao was digging a hole not far away. Next to him was another guy buried in the ground, with only his head exposed.
"What the hell is going on here?"
Tang Ming sat up abruptly, bewildered by the scene before him.
"Hey buddy, save me! This crazy woman buried me for a whole night just so Zhang Chuming could win."
The guy buried in the ground shouted with a pitiful expression.
"I...that’s too despicable."
Hearing that, Tang Ming realized that Zhang Baobao wasn’t doing this for herself but for that guy named Zhang Chuming.
"Now that you two are together, you at least have someone to talk to. After the medical competition, I’ll let you go, okay?"
Zhang Baobao climbed out of the pit, pouring a bucket of mineral water into it.
"Hey, it’s bad enough you’re burying people, but why pour water on it? Do you think you’re making mud?"
Tang Ming shouted with disgust.
"Making the soil moist makes it more solid to trap you in the ground. Otherwise, with your cultivation, you’d easily climb out."
Zhang Baobao explained seriously.
"Wow, that’s pretty professional."
Tang Ming stared at Zhang Baobao, dumbfounded; it seemed like she had buried people with experience.
"Nothing else, just skilled in this."
Zhang Baobao smiled proudly, reaching out to toss Tang Ming into the pit and began covering him with soil.
"Crazy woman, are you serious?"
Tang Ming cried out miserably.
Zhang Baobao focused on burying him, too lazy to talk, while the guy next to him kept consoling, "Buddy, just accept your fate. This lunatic is strong and stubborn. Once she decides to bury you, you won’t get away. Let’s keep each other company, alright?"
"Keep your company to yourself."
Tang Ming cursed angrily, his bound hands quickly forming seals as a large black array plate emerged beneath him.
"Huh, Heavenly Mechanism Hundred Changes?"
Zhang Baobao exclaimed in surprise.
"You think you can bury me that easily? Cremation!"
Tang Ming roared, flames erupting from his body, burning the ropes and clothes to ash.
"Wow, she’s just trying to bury you; no need to set yourself on fire."
The guy next to him screamed in disbelief.
"Earth Formation!"
Once free, Tang Ming, covered in dirt, pushed his hands towards Zhang Baobao, and the surrounding soil flew up, surging towards Zhang Baobao and engulfing her.
"Damn it! If you weren’t insane, I’d kill you today."
Tang Ming leapt out of the pit, glaring furiously at Zhang Baobao, now buried.
"Bro, you’re amazing! Quick, get me out, I can’t take it anymore."
The other person immediately pleaded with Tang Ming for help.
"Heavenly Mechanism Hundred Changes is indeed impressive, but this time I’ll seal your cultivation before burying you again."
At that moment, Zhang Baobao’s voice rang out again, and a shovel broke through the soil.
"Nutcase!"
Seeing this, Tang Ming turned and ran without another word. The opponent was a Martial General, too much for him to handle, and besides, he was on a tight schedule.
"Hey, don’t run! Get me out of here."
The buried guy shouted desperately.
"Stop, don’t run."
Zhang Baobao broke free and pursued Tang Ming with her shovel.
"Lunatic, I can’t worry about this now."
Glancing back, Tang Ming was scared out of his wits, immediately pushing his speed to the limit and dashing towards the city.
At one fifty, most of the contestants had already gathered at the arena. Twenty-five tables were set up in the plaza, looking much more grand than the previous crowded setting. This round was a showdown of true experts and promised to be quite exciting.
"Where did that Tang Ming guy run off to? Why hasn’t he shown up yet?"
Meng Xianjun stood outside the chain-link fence, nervously scanning around.
"Not sure! Xiao Qian said that when she woke up, Tang Ming wasn’t in the room. No idea where he went."
Wu Fangyue also looked puzzled.
