My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 1933 - 1929: Clan Exterminated
"Slow down, the people behind can’t keep up."
Tang Ming looked at Hua Yingjie, who seemed to be on a high, with some irritation. This journey was no big deal for them, but for Group 13 and the girls, it was really tough.
The girls in Group 13 were drenched in fragrant sweat, panting as they trail behind. For them, who never had to worry about food or clothing, this path was too challenging.
"No rush, no rush, I’m just too excited to be returning home."
Hua Yingjie smiled sheepishly, "There’s a pavilion a bit further up where we can rest."
After ten minutes, everyone finally reached the so-called pavilion, and Group 13 was exhausted, each finding a spot to sit and rest.
"Third Brother, look up there, that’s the main hall of the Heavenly Medicine Sect, followed by numerous ancient buildings."
Hua Yingjie, holding Tang Ming’s arm, proudly pointed to the mountain constructions, "Our sect’s location is bigger than the palace in the Imperial City; such a setup can accommodate thousands of people."
"Certainly looks impressive. How many people live here now?"
Tang Ming nodded repeatedly, noting it indeed looked better than the Forbidden Land at Rainbow Cloud Peak.
"Only about seventy people!"
Hua Yingjie smiled awkwardly, "The Heavenly Medicine Sect has declined. Many people don’t want to live in such remote, isolated places. Only the elderly, women, and children remain here, finding descending the mountain inconvenient, so they just stay up there."
"Wow, how do you manage to live here?"
Tang Ming asked incredulously.
"We can be self-sufficient, food and drink are not a problem! I’ve bought a lot of basic equipment with the money I previously obtained; the conditions on the mountain are decent enough."
Hua Yingjie explained with a smile.
"Alright! This place certainly suits seclusion."
Tang Ming nodded; once the sect was established, Tang Cha and the old lunatic wouldn’t need to hide anymore and could move here. With those two old monsters, even a Hidden Force wouldn’t be able to threaten this place.
After resting for a while, the group continued their journey.
Reaching the mountain top, Hua Yingjie desperately rushed towards the gate, shouting excitedly, "Third Grandpa, Little Tiger, I’ve brought friends."
"Old Four has it rough, bearing the burden of so many people’s lives, that’s a heavy responsibility to carry."
Watching Hua Yingjie’s enthusiastic demeanor, Meng Xianjun sighed deeply.
"Indeed! Initially, he went to the black market to fight for money and nearly got killed. I once despised him, but looking back now, I greatly admire him."
Tang Ming sighed, the most important thing for a person is the sense of responsibility. How many people could bear the burden of seventy people’s living expenses?
"Ah!"
Suddenly, as Tang Ming and the others were resting in the square, a horrific scream from Hua Yingjie broke the quiet.
"What happened?"
Tang Ming’s expression shifted slightly, immediately rushing inside.
Entering the gates, reaching the front hall, Tang Ming and the others were shocked by what they saw.
The hall was filled with corpses, the floor stained red with blood. The dead were elderly, women, even men were brutally killed, and the women, whether children or adults, were completely naked, filthy, making it clear what had happened before they died.
"What the hell happened here?"
Hua Yingjie, tearful, frantically searched through the corpses, "Third Grandfather, wake up! Little Liuzi..."
"Check if there are any survivors."
Tang Ming, with a grim expression, glanced at Tianye Yingzi, quickly going forward to examine a corpse, "They’ve been dead for several days."
"Looks like they were gathered and then slaughtered here in the hall; for the women... it’s just inhumane!"
Meng Xianjun, too, with a dark face, began to curse.
"Little Tiger, Little Tiger..."
Hua Yingjie crazily searched through the bodies; he initially thought returning home would be a happy moment, but now this is a devastating blow. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
Very soon, Tianye Yingzi returned, "I’ve checked most areas, no survivors found, didn’t see anyone else."
"Damn it! Who could be so heartless as to attack defenseless people?"
Tang Ming cursed furiously.
"No Little Tiger or Little Cabbage, they’re definitely not dead."
At this moment, Hua Yingjie suddenly dashed out of the hall, "Little Tiger, Little Cabbage, where are you? I’m Hua Yingjie, I’m back, where are you?"
"Are you sure there’s no one alive?"
Tang Ming turned and asked Tianye Yingzi.
"I only did a quick search, saw no one alive."
Tianye Yingzi responded truthfully.
"Damn it."
Tang Ming cursed and hurried after Hua Yingjie, "Old Hua, stop searching, they’re all dead."
"Impossible! Didn’t see Little Tiger and Little Cabbage’s bodies, they’re definitely not dead."
Hua Yingjie screamed madly.
"You..."
"I understand now, they must be hiding there, they must be."
Hua Yingjie shoved past Tang Ming, and quickly ran towards the back of the hall.
"Let’s follow."
Meng Xianjun sighed and promptly chased after Hua Yingjie, worried for his safety.
The group followed behind Hua Yingjie, reaching a field behind the sect’s buildings.
Hua Yingjie rushed to the edge of the field, parted the weeds, and uncovered a circular wooden board.
"Little Tiger, Little Cabbage, are you in there?"
Hua Yingjie patted the wooden board while asking tremulously.
Tang Ming and the others exchanged looks; it seemed to be a storage cellar.
"I’ll help him."
Sun Zhuangjia lifted his foot, ready to help Hua Yingjie open the board.
"No need!"
Tang Ming pulled Sun Zhuangjia back, watching Hua Yingjie with a complex expression; this was Hua Yingjie’s last hope.
With his strength, Hua Yingjie could easily open the board, but refrained because he feared there’d be nothing inside, then all hope would be gone.
"Are you in there? Please respond!"
Hua Yingjie asked tearfully, his voice trembling.
Others stood sympathetically; the girls of Group 13 couldn’t hold back tears, overwhelmed by the previous scene and Hua Yingjie’s current state.
Hua Yingjie kept patting the wooden board, yet didn’t dare open it.
"Squeak, squeak."
At that moment, a sound emerged from beneath the board.
"There’s a sound."
Hua Yingjie became ecstatic, forcefully flipping the board open, looking down eagerly.
"Little Tiger!"
Hua Yingjie shouted in amazement, decisively jumping down and soon emerged holding an unconscious boy.
The boy was short-haired, wearing a tattered coat, with blood at his mouth and a dead mouse clutched in his hand, evidently having hidden here for quite some time.
"Little Tiger, you’ll be alright."
Hua Yingjie placed the boy down, immediately checking his pulse and transferring True Qi to heal him.
