My Community Transmigrated Again
Chapter 266 - 240: Giant Wood Shipyard
Seeing Qin Ziwen remain silent, the bald man filled in the blanks. ’Since he’s not from the building, he must be from the Urban Village.’
No wonder he looked a little unfamiliar. But the man also felt aggrieved. ’What’s a guy from the Urban Village doing meddling in our building’s business?’
The bald man didn’t even consider the possibility that he was from the other Gated Community across the water. It was several kilometers away, and he’d heard there were sea monsters, making it impossible to cross quickly.
The bald man said, "We started eating this... meat... on the first map. We were transported to a snowy mountain. Everyone was cold and hungry, and after we ran out of food in the building, someone suggested we eat... lamb."
"The ones who would rather die than eat it all starved to death. Who’s left alive in the building that hasn’t eaten it?" As he spoke, the bald man actually started to cry. "I had no choice! I just want to live. My wife and daughter are still waiting for me at home. If I die, what will they do?"
As he spoke, the bald man raised a hand to wipe away his tears, then suddenly lunged, aiming a punch at Qin Ziwen’s groin.
But the instant he moved, Qin Ziwen, sensing the shift in airflow, had already kicked him in the throat.
The bald man’s neck twisted upwards as he was thrown hard against the wall.
His larynx shattered. He made a gurgling sound, his face flushing crimson.
Before he could even react, the thrown boning knife had already pierced his eye socket, burying itself deep.
Striding forward, Qin Ziwen gripped the hilt and yanked it upward.
The blade scraped against the skull with a grating sound.
From the bald man, Qin Ziwen had gotten a cruel answer.
Nearly everyone who survived in this building was a cannibal.
He looked back at the strips of meat hanging from the ceiling.
To Qin Ziwen, the sight was unbearable.
He grabbed a nearby clothes-drying pole, took down the hanging pieces of meat one by one, and piled them together. Then he found flammable materials in the room, took out a flint, and set it all ablaze.
Watching the flames grow fiercer, Qin Ziwen took two steps back, turned, and left.
Thick smoke billowed, growing more and more intense.
"Fire!"
"Put it out, quick!" 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Shouts rose one after another from within the building.
Figures rushed past him, hurrying upstairs.
Qin Ziwen made his way to the ground floor and then headed for the Urban Village.
All around were teams of people carrying logs toward the Urban Village.
The logs varied in size. The smaller ones were carried by two people working together, while the larger ones took five or six.
The layout of the Urban Village looked almost identical to the picture he had obtained.
The destination for these felled logs was a spacious, large courtyard house.
Standing at the entrance and looking in, one could see that the space inside the courtyard was huge, like two mirrors stacked together. Through one of them, an "expanded" area was visible.
Inside was a massive shipyard.
Thick smoke billowed from the top of the huge shipyard.
The smoke was coming from a massive pool.
Some workers were throwing logs into it, which produced pungent white smoke.
Other workers were using tools to pull planks out of the pool.
But the planks they removed seemed to have shrunk considerably in volume.
Qin Ziwen was somewhat surprised by this sight.
He used Insight.
[Authority check in progress... Insight successful!]
[Advanced Building: Level 1 Giant Wood Shipyard: Level 2 Shipbuilding Efficiency Enhancement, Level 2 Giant Ship Assembly, Level 1 Shipyard] (Special Effect: When wood is thrown into the Pool of Melting Wood, its essence is refined to create formed planks. These planks are then highly compressed, drastically increasing their density.)
’So it’s that kind of shipyard.’
Qin Ziwen scanned the area and noticed quite a few guards near the shipyard.
Moreover, in a courtyard diagonally opposite, he thought he saw a "Crossbow" mounted on a wall.
"What are you doing? Get back to work." A voice came from the side. Yang Long and a few of his team members walked over, spotting Qin Ziwen standing at the shipyard entrance.
Watching Qin Ziwen’s retreating back, a team member beside Yang Long asked, "What’s up, Brother Long?"
"It’s nothing." Yang Long shook his head, pulling his gaze away from Qin Ziwen.
On his way back, Qin Ziwen glanced up in the direction of Hongding Mansion. The fire was gradually being brought under control, and the thick smoke was dissipating.
He noticed that the fire he’d started seemed to be contained within a certain area, not spreading to the surrounding floors.
This wasn’t how a normal fire would spread.
Perhaps it was related to some special property of the transmigrating building.
If that was the case, the buildings in the Gated Community probably had a similar effect.
When he reached the foot of the mountain, the man he’d met earlier was still slacking off, though he had moved to a more hidden spot, lying behind a tree.
Seeing Qin Ziwen approach, the man couldn’t help but flash a suggestive smile. "That was quick."
"What do you think will happen if the other Gated Community attacks?" Qin Ziwen asked.
The man was unconcerned. "What’s there to be afraid of? We killed so many dinosaurs, why would we be afraid of a few people?"
"The dinosaurs weren’t that easy to kill, were they?"
"They weren’t, but we just threw bodies at the problem. We have over a thousand more people than the Gated Community across the water. What’s so scary?" the man said casually.
"Where are the superweapons in the building kept?" Qin Ziwen asked.
The man froze, sensing something was wrong. His hand instinctively reached for his axe. "How come you don’t seem to know anything?"
BAM!
Qin Ziwen kicked him unconscious.
Then he hoisted the man over his shoulder and started up the mountain.
He reached the mountaintop, where a cold wind blew.
The man regained consciousness. His gaze shifted between Qin Ziwen and the Beaked Eagle at his side.
In that moment, he understood everything.
"You... you’re not from our building, and you’re not from the Urban Village."
"Looks like you’re not stupid. In that case, I’ll ask you: how are your building’s members organized, who are your high-end fighters, and do you have any superweapons?" Qin Ziwen asked.
The man’s eyes darted around. "You won’t let me go even if I talk, so why should I say anything?"
"There’s a difference. The experience, at least, will be different," Qin Ziwen said with a smile. ’We’re all modern people. Even if he hasn’t experienced torture, how could he not have heard of it?’
He might not be a professional, but the person being tortured wasn’t a professionally trained anti-interrogation specialist either.
Half an hour later, Qin Ziwen had all the information he wanted.
Hongding Mansion had been unified at the end of the last map. The internal faction was called the "Blood Words."
Its overall structure was similar to a gang. Each floor had a floor master, for a total of thirty-two. The top sixteen floors belonged to the few leaders of the Blood Words and were normally closed to outsiders. Only the building master and core members of the Blood Words were allowed up there.
Within the Blood Words, the only superweapon the man knew of was the Bow and Arrow.
He’d heard it was a special Bow and Arrow produced by a building, with not only long range but also extremely strong penetration power.
Furthermore, among the Blood Words’ upper echelon, there was an incredibly skilled fighter. It was said he could fight his way through an entire floor by himself. The last time a floor master got defiant and tried to cause trouble, that guy suppressed him single-handedly, taking a blade and carving his way through the entire floor.
The Urban Village, on the other hand, was another faction called the Jianghu Association.
They had far fewer people than the Blood Words, only five or six hundred.
The shipyard was with the Jianghu Association. He’d heard they were rushing to build ships. Once the big ship was finished, they were preparing to launch an attack on the Gated Community across the water.
