My Crazy Upgrade System
Chapter 222 - 221: Gained Experience All the Same
"It’s your turn now." Those words left the Third Elder utterly stunned. The five Shadow Guards were all dead! They could all feel that the Shadow Guards’ auras had completely vanished, meaning they were dead through and through.
The five Shadow Guards had been killed in the blink of an eye, with no difficulty whatsoever. This meant that Yi Tianyun’s cultivation was even more terrifying than they had imagined, having reached the seventh or eighth level of the Spirit Pill Stage, or perhaps even higher. Otherwise, it would have been impossible for him to defeat these Shadow Guards.
The First Elder and the others were even more dumbfounded. Mu Xian’Er, in particular, was at a loss for words, remembering where he had struck her. If Yi Tianyun had used the same amount of force on her back then as he did today, she would have been a dead woman.
’To think the person I tried to prank was such a monstrous genius! In front of Yi Tianyun, no other genius could even be considered one. He looks so young, yet he has already reached the Spirit Pill Stage.’ She couldn’t even begin to imagine how he trained.
He Qianhan’s mouth hung wide open. She had originally thought she was doomed, but now it looked like her enemies were the ones who couldn’t escape their fate.
"Th-this... is this the power of the Profound Celestial Spirit King?" the Third Elder stammered in shock. He had never imagined this would be the outcome.
"The power of the Profound Celestial Spirit King?" Yi Tianyun shook his head. "Don’t deify the Profound Celestial Spirit King so much. It’s true that I practice the Profound Celestial Divine Technique, but that doesn’t mean this Divine Technique is truly invincible."
He walked forward, step by step. The Third Elder couldn’t help but back away, then, gritting his teeth, he turned and fled. But Yi Tianyun was far faster. In the blink of an eye, he intercepted him and lashed out with a kick. BANG! The Third Elder was sent flying, landing with perfect precision right in front of the First Elder and the others.
"Ugh..." The Third Elder grunted in pain and collapsed limply to the ground. A large section of his chest was caved in. He was gravely injured.
"Ask him whatever you need to," Yi Tianyun said, gesturing for the First Elder and the others to question him.
The First Elder and the others finally snapped out of their daze. Glaring at the Third Elder, the First Elder snarled, "You traitor! It seems all the previous incidents were your doing!"
"Hahaha... It’s all gone. Everything is gone... Go ahead and kill me. I’ve given up. Everything’s gone, the Mansion Master is gone, my status is gone..." The Third Elder’s face was pale, his eyes ashen and devoid of all hope. He had completely given up on living.
He knew there was no escape, and that begging for mercy would be useless.
"Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll lend you a hand." Yi Tianyun walked over and looked at the First Elder. "First Elder, will you be the one to finish him, or should I do it for you?"
’If they wanted to take care of it themselves, I’d be willing to hand him over. But it would be even better if I could finish him off myself. The experience isn’t a huge amount, but every little bit adds up.’
"This animal! I will finish him myself!" The First Elder walked up to the Third Elder and swung his palm down.
Just then, the Third Elder suddenly sprang up and launched a swift counterattack. But the First Elder was no pushover; he met the attack head-on with a fierce palm strike.
BOOM!
The Third Elder was slammed hard into the ground by the force of the First Elder’s blow. The surging power forced him to spit out a mouthful of blood. Already injured by Yi Tianyun’s kick, he was naturally unable to withstand the First Elder’s attack.
"Still trying to struggle? I will punish you, traitor, on behalf of the Celestial Extreme Mansion!"
A cold glint flashed in the First Elder’s eyes. Without a shred of hesitation, he slammed his palm down on the Third Elder’s head. Mu Xian’Er and the others couldn’t help but shut their eyes, unable to watch.
"The Celestial Extreme Mansion... will belong to the Netherworld Empire sooner or later... Hahaha..."
BOOM!
With one final, heavy strike, the Third Elder’s aura vanished completely. The First Elder’s palm had blasted his head apart.
"Ding! Successfully killed Third Elder. Gained 23,000 Experience, 3,300 Madness Value, 50 Sin Value. Acquired: Celestial Extreme Palm, Celestial Star Step."
’I’m stunned again,’ Yi Tianyun thought. ’I hadn’t expected to get credit for the kill after just one kick; it was completely unexpected. I thought I would have to beat them to near death for it to count. It seems as long as I’m the one to inflict a grievous injury, I’ll still get a share of the experience even if someone else delivers the final blow. I missed out on the bonus experience from Madness Mode, of course, but keeping it active would have been a waste of Madness Value. That was why I’d turned it off after dealing with the Shadow Guards.’
"We’ve finally dealt with this traitor..." The First Elder let out a sigh of relief and suppressed his churning Blood Qi. His injuries were not healed enough for him to be fighting.
After the traitor was dealt with, the First Elder cupped his hands in gratitude. "Thank you so much, Young Hero Yi. I never imagined someone so young could reach such a high level of cultivation. It’s beyond anything I could have conceived; you’ve completely surpassed us old-timers."
"No need for thanks," Yi Tianyun said in a serious tone. "As the successor to the Profound Celestial Spirit King, it’s only natural that I help the Celestial Extreme Mansion purge its traitors. For now, let’s rescue the Mansion Master. Do you know where the dungeons are?"
"I do!" The First Elder nodded firmly, his eyes full of worry for the Mansion Master’s current condition.
The First Elder then led them toward the dungeon. Beside them, Mu Xian’Er secretly peeked at Yi Tianyun, her gaze completely different than before. It flickered with uncertainty, even a hint of fear. To think the Little Witch could feel fear.
"What are you looking at? Do I look any different?" Yi Tianyun asked, flashing a smile at Mu Xian’Er.
Startled, Mu Xian’Er flinched and turned her head away. How could she dare to meet his gaze? His power was so heaven-defying that it was frightening just to think about.
"N-no, nothing’s different... You’re about my age, but your cultivation is so much stronger than mine." Mu Xian’Er peeked out again and asked, "How on earth did you get so strong?"
"Well... I just kept fighting to improve myself." Yi Tianyun wasn’t lying; he truly had broken through to higher levels simply by fighting constantly.
"I can see that..." Mu Xian’Er stuck her tongue out lightly. She would never have known how to use the kind of violent techniques Yi Tianyun had just displayed.
She had spent her whole life here, rarely ever fighting, let alone in a battle to the death. The most she ever did was spar with other members of the mansion, but as the First Elder’s granddaughter, who would dare to actually harm her?
He Qianhan, who was standing nearby, thought for a moment before asking, "Did the Ancestor... did he leave behind any other last wishes?"
She had worshipped the Profound Celestial Spirit King since she was a child. He was a Spirit King, a being more powerful than even a Core Formation Stage expert. He was a legend of the Celestial Extreme Mansion, the most powerful figure in its entire history. It was just a shame that he had still died in the end.
"Not really. He just asked me to come visit the Celestial Extreme Mansion, or perhaps become one of its disciples. He wasn’t insistent about it, though."
This was what Elder Xuan had relayed to him—that he should become a disciple of the Celestial Extreme Mansion to fulfill the Spirit King’s long-cherished wish.
