My Idol System: An Idol, But Also A Savior
Chapter 219: Fansign
No matter how unbelievable it was, it was still the truth.
The most shocked person was probably Justin. He seemed to feel that Joshua had grown a little more distant from him. Before, he had already had no chance; now, that chance seemed even farther away...
But at least Joshua wasn’t like him—perhaps that was a good thing.
They still had another performance tomorrow, so today they could only take advantage of the time to rest early.
Joshua sensed that Nine had only shouted once when the fame points surged, then fell completely silent until now. A bad feeling rose in his chest, making Joshua feel that something must have happened.
"Joshua, go take a shower." At that moment, Henry’s voice suddenly rang out.
Henry couldn’t help feeling a little strange—today, Joshua was actually scrolling through his phone.
Of course, it was just an excuse for Joshua to message Nine. Normally, no matter what Nine was doing, he would reply within a second, but now there was no response at all.
"Nine, are you okay..." Joshua couldn’t help murmuring.
"I’m fine!" Nine suddenly shouted loudly, startling Joshua so badly that his foot slipped. He immediately lost control and fell straight down, landing on the bathroom floor.
This was... a cartoon or something?
"Why are you yelling so loudly?!" Joshua ground his teeth inwardly. Hearing the noise outside, Henry hurried in as well. "Joshua, are you al—"
Before he could finish speaking, the words stuck in his throat.
Because of the temperature difference, mist filled the bathroom, hazy and indistinct. And at this moment, Joshua was sitting on the floor almost completely naked. Water droplets traced their way along his fair skin, sliding past the two rosy points on his chest, continuing downward...
Henry instinctively looked straight at Joshua’s face, then quickly stepped forward to help him up.
Joshua hadn’t expected himself to actually fall like that, and on top of that, his waist hurt badly.
He almost leaned his entire weight against Henry, the pain so intense that tears welled up in his eyes.
Seeing Joshua like this, Nine couldn’t help feeling extremely uneasy. Joshua could only comfort him, saying, "It’s because I wasn’t careful."
Nine sniffled even more.
"Joshua, time for dinner!"
Just then, Luther’s lively voice suddenly rang out. No one knew since when he had stopped knocking before entering Henry and Joshua’s room—it felt as if he was ready to catch someone in the act at any moment.
Just like right now: the moment he walked in, he saw Henry carrying Joshua out of the bathroom, Joshua completely naked. Luther’s eyes flew wide open, as if a volcano had just erupted inside his head!
"Henry, you beast, what did you do to Joshua?!"
His voice was thunderously loud, drawing Leonard and Justin, who were in the kitchen, to look over as well.
Joshua was truly not wearing a single stitch at the moment, his entire body slick and bare. The veins on his forehead throbbed as he shouted loudly, "All of you, get out!"
This was the first time he had ever raised his voice like this—and with such obvious anger. Luther and the others instinctively shrank back and closed the door. Luther’s voice still drifted in from outside: "Joshua, if anything happens, you have to call me immediately!"
Henry silently curled the corner of his lips slightly, but before he could feel pleased for even a second, Joshua looked up at him and said coldly, "You go out too."
Henry parted his lips, but faced with Joshua’s gaze, he ultimately couldn’t say anything and could only leave.
Outside, Luther was still pressing his ear to the door to listen for any movement when the door was suddenly pushed open. He looked up in surprise and saw Henry walking out, his expression even colder than usual, his gaze sweeping over Luther with little friendliness.
Luther curled his lips. Gone was any trace of the cheerfulness he had shown around Joshua. He straightened up, his presence no less imposing than Henry’s.
"I’m the one closest to Joshua, got it?"
Henry didn’t pay it any mind. "None of us are." He left behind only that sentence before turning and walking away.
Luther watched Henry’s retreating figure, somewhat unable to make sense of it.
Meanwhile, back in the room, Joshua had exchanged for a bottle of medicine from the Store. With some difficulty, he applied it to his lower back while asking, "Nine, what exactly happened?"
Nine sighed. After a moment of silence, he finally said, "This world has many cracks. I use energy to mend them. I should’ve already completed the task, but things still aren’t stable—there’s a crack that’s hiding from me..."
This was the first time Joshua had heard anything like this. "Is there anything I can help with?"
"You just need to keep getting more famous. After all, the energy I obtain comes from you," Nine replied.
Joshua wanted to ask more about the crack, but this time Nine clammed up and said nothing further. Joshua could only give up.
He lay there quietly for a while. Only after confirming that his back no longer hurt did he get up to put on his clothes.
Thankfully, there was the Store—otherwise, with how his back had been earlier, who knew how he would’ve managed to perform tomorrow.
The night passed peacefully. The next day, Lance and Luis appeared together in the invited family seating area.
Joshua had sent them tickets earlier. They had wanted to come yesterday but had been held up by their schedules.
Now, seeing the Adonis family seated inside, the two of them couldn’t help but feel surprised—especially Lance.
Lance smiled and exchanged pleasantries with Mr. Adonis, while Luis looked toward Louis. He still hadn’t forgotten how Joshua had suddenly fallen ill last time. Even though Joshua had said he was fine, Luis hadn’t truly felt at ease.
He smiled at them and asked, "You all are here...?"
Louis nodded. "We’re Joshua’s family. Of course we’re here to support him."
This time, it was Lance and Luis who were shocked at the same moment.
Mrs. Adonis smiled and waved her hand. "This child has been sick since he was young and recuperating overseas. He’d only just gotten a bit better and immediately wanted to run back home. We really had no choice but to support him from behind."
Thinking back, no matter how Joshua had been framed before, things were always resolved quickly—perhaps it was because the Adonis family was backing him from behind.
Although it was still a little hard to believe, it wasn’t entirely illogical.
At this moment, the performance had already begun, so they could only turn their attention to the stage.
The setlist was the same as yesterday; only the interaction segment was completely different. The fans had clearly been looking forward to this day for a long time—the cheers and screams from below were overwhelmingly loud.
Luis couldn’t help but worry a little about these fans’ throats.
Two hours passed quickly, and at last came the fansign segment. Only the fans who had successfully drawn a slot beforehand were allowed to stay.
The entire process wasn’t much different from yesterday, except that it was a different batch of fans this time.
"Joshuah~" Nyx used a baby-talk tone the moment she stepped up, her pitch rising several notes. The dark circles under her eyes were almost washed out by the light shining in them.
Joshua recognized her as well. He smiled and spread his hands to receive hers. "We meet again. I really missed you."
A small, blissful sound escaped Nyx’s lips.
"I think Joshua takes wishes very seriously. I just want to know—has your wish come true yet?"
Joshua thought of his family waiting backstage and couldn’t help smiling slightly. "My wish has already come true."
Nyx seemed a little surprised, even unsure whether Joshua was telling the truth or simply giving a pleasant answer. But looking at Joshua’s bright smile, it was probably true.
"Joshua, can I touch your dimple?"
Joshua nodded, then tilted his right cheek toward Nyx.
Nyx screamed cute in her heart, then asked Joshua to pose in a few more adorable ways for photos, until a figure suddenly blocked their view.
It turned out it was time to leave. She could only reluctantly keep brushing Joshua’s hand as she went.
Andy pushed his glasses up and sat down in front of Joshua, looking as though he’d been forced to attend the fansign. Joshua smiled again and raised both hands. "We meet again, Andy."
Andy screamed inwardly, his hand instinctively lifting to touch Joshua’s. So soft!!!
"Can I hug you this time?" he asked.
Joshua nodded and opened his arms directly.
At last, Andy happily got the hug he had been waiting for since last year.
