My Lust System: I Inherited The Sin Of Lust And His Three Wives
Chapter 251: A Bounty
Damian and Rin slowly turned together. At the far end of the path leading deeper into the abyssal zone where the crimson eye remained, staring at them intently.
It floated silently within endless dead woods shaped like a battery meant to keep it locked away. However that did not stop the enormous pupil of the abyss from staring at them with calm amusement as though observing two children trying to solve problems beyond their understanding.
Damian’s expression became colder as he narrowed his eyes and folded his arms.
"I don’t remember asking for your help." he sneered but the giant eye remained still.
A low chuckle echoed through the realm in a soft but mocking tone like someone trying very hard not to laugh openly.
"Eventually, you will need it." The Abyss hissed in response. "So why not take charge of it now?"
Buzz!
Damian’s expression darkened immediately. He opened his mouth to respond but Rin suddenly slapped its tiny paw over his mouth, leaving him blinking in surprise.
Rin did not even look at him. Its eyes remained fixed on the eye.
"What do you mean?" Its tone was calm. But Damian could feel it.
Rin was alert.
Rin on the other hand could not make sense of they Abyss’s word. Right now it could not sense any immediate danger around Damian. They also have a solid plan to keep Greed, Wrath and Peity occupied.
So how can Damian’s life be in danger?
But this did not mean Rin doubted the abyss either. This entity wasn’t the kind to play little tricks. If the Abyss appeares, then it came because it knew something they were not aware of currently.
The eye remained silent briefly, allowing the silence to weigh down their hearts and loosen it before speaking.
"Killing a Duke of Hell is no small matter. No matter what chaos is occurring in the underworld do you think something like that simply disappears from everyone’s minds?"
Damian frowned instantly but Rin froze as if those words triggered a new understand. Its face darkened as it realized what they had overlooked.
"Yes... Your little plan distracts Greed, Wrath and Peity is good. But what about the other princes?" the Abyss’s voice dragged lazily.
"Do you think they will ignore the opportunity to obtain a second inheritance and To stand above their brothers?"
Buzz!
Rin’s expression sank. Its calculations relied entirely on one assumption that this was Greed’s territory and nobody would interfere.
But If Greed was distracted, alongside Wrath and Peity, then wouldn’t now be the perfect moment?
If another Prince successfully captured Damian and obtained both sins would they still fear Greed afterward?
Rin’s frown deepened because this logic is also one sided.
What if they fail and greed realizes what they did?
Unless they are compellled by something more valuable than Damian, he doubted they would act.
It was possible but also difficult to imagine.
"And so what if they act?" Rin’s tails rose proudly. "Damian can protect himself."
The response came instantly but was met with the eye’s mocking laughter..
"Foolish mutt. You and I both know The Dukes sent down here will not resemble Haborym." The eye stared at Rin.
"You know how demons fight. Do you really believe he survives that kind of war without the aid of my Abyssal Flame?"
Rin frowned as Its ears lowered slightly. At this point Damian had enough. He pushed Rin’s paw away and asked directly.
"What is he talking about?"
Rin remained silent, not because it refused to respond butt because it wasn’t sure get. However the mention of demons fighting brought back memories of demonic and angelic warfare and Damain witness them all.
In all they never started with direct confrontation. What Damian saw instead were traps and manipulation. Once the target is caught under the trap, they are swarmed and warn out by legions of demons. Only then domajor players appear.
By the time you realized what’s going on, it’s too late.
There were no heroic duels, everyone who had approached Damian directly acted so out of ignorance. They were expecting a weak mortal they can crush, that’s why they dared come directly but the case is different now Dukr Haborym’s death has given everyone an idea of what level Damain might be at.
He no longer had the element of surprise.
Damian’s eyes narrowed as he understood why Rin was hesistating. Despite all of these odds, it had strong trust in Damian.
The current Damian wasn’t the reckless mortal anymore. But Rin also understood everything is possible. It would be difficult but not impossible. Regardless, it believed Damians would come out on top. Especially with the help of his wives.
.
"I can assure you my Lord does not need your help to deal with mere Dukes."Rin lifted its head
Damian on the other hand wasn’t sure if he should be touched by the speech or annoyed that he was being completely ignored.
The eye laughed again but louder this time. Its voice gradually became distant.
"Your insincerity will get that young Prince killed."
The eye disappeared and the crimson glow withdrew.Damian immediately looked at Rin with his brows furrowed.
"I thought you said I had a few years before my brothers got to me?"
Rin nodded immediately, but it did not answer immediately.
The Abyss would not appear for nothing. If it brought this up tben something was moving.
"Your brothers can’t reach you yet. There’s too much happening for them to focus on you." Rin sighed
"I don’t think the Abyss wasn’t talking about your brothers. It meant Dukes." it said.
Damian frowned harder, especially because they literally just discussed this.
Rin’s expression darkened.
"The problem is, the Dukes capable of killing you are usually neutral. Only weaker Dukes take sides." Rin sounded more contemplative than certain.
"Have you considered that they could be bribed?"
Buzz!
Rin froze as its eyes widened instantly. Then it smacked its paws together as it’s eyes lit up..
"Someone placed a bounty on you... that’s the only explanation." It said firmly.
The only scenario this could happen is if someone offered something valuable enough for the other princes to risk sending Dukes.
Thinking about it now, the Abyss may not have exaggerated. Damian’s life miight actually be in danger!
