My Players Are So Fierce – Handsome dog Frank
Chapter 2739 - 914: The Day of Glory Has Come! Welcome the Return of the Star Realm Wanderer!
How should one describe the second battle between Murphy and Huggesen?
Crushing? Routing? Steamrolling?
All of those words are a bit off, and maybe all of them fit perfectly.
Facing Murphy’s taunt after his "cheat just cashed in," the God’s Chosen’s response was very straightforward—once the Hunting God’s Power returned to its body, it immediately begged the Master of Hunting for strength, and the Evil God who hated Murphy to the bone generously bestowed its blessing.
Huggesen, whose body had bulked up a whole size, gripped the warhammer in both hands and leapt up amid roaring thunder, bringing it down on the powered armor’s helmet in front of him with a mountain-cleaving strike.
Against this sure-kill heavy blow, Murphy raised the chainsaw sword in his left hand, meeting Huggesen’s attack head-on in midair. The instant the two weapons collided, a heavy impact exploded out. The pure contest of strength alone was enough to make one’s blood boil, and the thunder that followed struck the War Marshal’s Armor squarely, making it look as if it were bathing in lightning.
Yet even two consecutive hits failed to force the War Marshal to take a single step back.
Aside from the chainsaw sword in his hand letting out a wail of protest under the strain, Huggesen’s full-power strike had done precisely zero effective damage to Murphy.
This result was unbearable not just for Huggesen—even the Master of Hunting watching through the divine screen couldn’t stand it!
He roared at Huggesen to keep attacking, but Huggesen wasn’t an idiot—especially with Murphy’s counterattack arriving right after he blocked the strike.
The Crimson Witch Enhanced Chainsaw Sword in his right hand gave a vicious buzz as it whirled and hacked toward Huggesen. The Wolf People God’s Chosen was forced to block with his own weapon, then was immediately sent flying by an irresistible brute force.
He was smashed nearly seven meters away. When he hit the ground his arms were trembling, and just the recoil through his weapon made his bones scream. After that probing attack was brutally schooled by the reality of being completely unable to break through the defense and the fifty-point heavy strike power, he decisively pulled back.
He wasn’t Murphy—he couldn’t revive twice in a row. Taking one heavy blow from a monster like this War Marshal Power Armor and he’d be a name on the Master of Hunting’s casualty list.
Most importantly, the weapon in his hand right now wasn’t designed to fight something like that at all. If he wanted to punch through that armor that looked solid as hell at a glance, he needed to be holding a real Divine Artifact that could ignore super-heavy armor defenses.
Like that Tooth of Filth currently stuck in Su’s chest. Only that tooth from the Divine Spirit had any chance, on top of its reality-defying destructive power, to actually wound Murphy.
Huggesen called for his Throne Wolf as he retreated at top speed. Deathclaw, which had been locked in a fierce, even fight with George and Reveno, immediately disengaged, scooped its master up halfway, and sprinted toward Su.
Throughout this process the Master of Hunting was absurdly furious, berating His God’s Chosen as a coward.
Huggesen was so annoyed he finally roared back at that side for the first time:
"The creator gave Murphy invincible armor, and what did you give me? Other than a madman’s will and some useless Divine Power that can be turned against me at any time, what else can you give me? Quit your damn howling! If you’re so great, get down here and do it yourself!"
Maybe He hadn’t expected a mere Wolf People like Huggesen to dare rant at Him so boldly, because the Master of Hunting was stunned for a moment.
For a long while, He didn’t make a sound.
But then an even crazier wave of mental interference surged in from the other side like a tide. Huggesen almost fell off his Throne Wolf at full gallop, his heartbeat turning erratic, his soul and consciousness suffering tearing pain.
This was punishment from the Master of Hunting, the rage of utter impotence.
He did want to descend, but the problem was He hadn’t even awakened yet, and even after He did, if He wanted a divine descent, for now Huggesen was His only option.
Awkward as hell...
"I really must have been blind... No, every last Wolf People was damn well blind."
Huggesen lay flat on the Throne Wolf, enduring wave after wave of pain. Gripping Deathclaw’s reins, he sighed inwardly, but having drawn such an unreliable god was already a fact. Instead of moping, the battle still had to go on.
If he didn’t want to run today, there was only one choice: get his hands on that Tooth of Filth and use it to test Murphy’s invincible armor.
When Murphy saw Huggesen running toward the God of the North Wind’s position, he immediately understood.
He knew exactly what Huggesen wanted to do, and couldn’t help acknowledging that this God’s Chosen’s thinking was flexible.
Indeed, right now there were only a few things on the Continent that could crack the material of Power Armor. The tooth that had fallen from Su was definitely the most suitable among them, not to mention that thing had been personally corrupted by the Master of Hunting and matched Huggesen’s strength attribute very well.
But even if you let him get it, so what?
He’d just relaxed the Omega Program’s suppression and let Huggesen, at his peak, clash with him in a straight-up exchange and the guy still didn’t gain any advantage. Once Omega Suppression was fully engaged, even with the Tooth of Filth in hand, all Huggesen could do was lie down on the chopping block.
After all, this Wolf People didn’t know a divine skill like "Titan’s Grip" that let you dual-wield heavy weapons for a devastating offensive. That was a technique used by the Barbarian Berserkers under Vam, and only Barbarians with physiques that outrageous could fully exploit the extreme advantage of dual heavy weapons.
Besides, that last clash had allowed Murphy, using the Power Armor’s drive program written by Eden, to judge that Huggesen’s strength attribute should be around 40. A full ten points short in a head-on fight meant one thing: getting hammered.
But to show respect for his opponent, and also to keep Old Su Head from suffering any more, Murphy couldn’t just let Huggesen stroll over and pick up that Wolf Blood Holy Sword which had kicked off this whole disaster.
