My Scheming Little Devil

"If you do enough bad things, you’re bound to slip up. I fought tooth and nail to bring in ten million to save your company. I kindly asked my friends to help save your business, only to find out the company you’ve dedicated your whole life to is nothing but a sham. You gobbled up the hard-earned ten million I brought in without a second thought."

Feng Aoxue had shown her the report back then, but she refused to believe it.

She fought to make excuses for him, perhaps he had other business obligations, a hidden agenda, the Crystal Snake incident, Yuanyuan kept reminding her, but she was blinded by her infatuation. She believed he would never do such a thing to her.

Looking back now, she was indeed a fool, laughing bitterly at herself for being the sucker who was sold and yet helped count the money. For more than a decade, she had been toyed with by her own beloved father.

Deep-seated trust and love vanishing, leaving behind only bone-deep hatred.

She looked at Ye Wanli, whose face had turned ashen, and let out a cold, harsh laugh:

"So, don’t think you can use me again. Marrying into the Shang family to get a huge dowry for you? Dream on!"

"You ungrateful brat, all these years of raising you for nothing!", Ye Wanli hissed, his hand striking her face in anger, causing her cheek to swell and her nose bleed.

Ye Lu’s heart ached as she looked at his twisted face, she coldly wiped the blood from her nose and there was not a trace of love left in her eyes for this man she once called father.

"With this slap, you and I are done. Our ties as father and daughter are severed!"

She dashed upstairs and into the rooms of Ye Yuan and Ye Yi.

Her heart sunk, how is she going to explain all of this to the kids?

They have such a cruel grandfather, they’re going to be hurt.

And now, life as they know it is going to change completely. She’s going to be a single mother raising two children. No more school for her, she needs to go out and make money however she can.

But as long as the three of them are living together happily, free from being used by others, even if she has to sacrifice her future and struggle, she won’t regret it.

"Yuanyuan, Yiyi, what are you doing?" She ran in to find the two kids standing there with their bags packed, neatly dressed and smiling faces waiting for her, understandably baffled.

Ye Yi chuckles proudly, "As soon as we heard you quarrelling with grandpa, we immediately packed our bags ready to get out of here. Don’t worry, mommy, we’re leaving with you."

"Yeah, mommy, even without grandpa, you still have us," Ye Yuan chimed in, coolly. "We will protect you."

Tears filled Ye Lu’s eyes. Facing Ye Wanli just now, she had felt nothing but despair and pain.

But now seeing her two treasures, she felt reborn from the ashes, inexplicably happy. She at least had them.

"But from now on, with Mom, life won’t be as comfortable as before. Are you scared?" she asked with a tinge of worry. After all, they were pampered little prince and princess, could they endure hardship?

"Of course we’re not. Let’s go, we’ve been wanting to leave this place for a long time!" Ye Yi grabs their mom’s hand, directing her brother to carry the two small bags, and the three of them confidently walk out.

Anyway, she and her brother had saved quite a bit of pocket money, and she used to trick Ye Wanli into giving her money to buy this and that. Previously, she and her brother had sold all those valuable toys, jewelry, dresses to wealthy classmates and made a bit of money. So, at least for a while, they’ll have no issue with food and clothing.

As for the future, she’d find a rich man who loves her mom to marry, then the three of them could leech off his money.

Seeing the three of them walk down, Ye Wanli was shaking with anger, he pointed at them cursing, "I’ve wasted my effort raising the three of you ungrateful creatures. You try stepping out that door, don’t ever think about coming back to beg me."

Ye Yuan’s face turned stern, "Grandpa, take care."

"Yuanyuan, it seems you’ve still got a conscience, your grandpa didn’t waste his affection on you.". Ye Wanli suddenly had a flicker of hope. Perhaps the two little ones, naive as they were, could still be deceived into staying.
