"Who’s at the door so early?" Ye Lu stood up, opened the door, and was surprised to see a bunch of police officers. Her face instantly paled.

What made her even more upset was the sinister-looking man who emerged from behind the police - it was Ye Wanli.

Her heart turned cold.

"What are you up to now?" she asked, panic and anger resonating in her voice.

Ye Wanli only responded with a cold sneer, not speaks a word.

The leading officer speaks up, "Ye Lu, is it? We received a report from Mr. Ye claiming that you have kidnapped two of Ye Family’s children. Let them out now!"

Ye Lu’s face turned ashen as she shot a hateful stare at Ye Wanli.

"That’s not true. These two children are mine. I’m their mother. It’s natural for me to be with them. How could you say I’ve kidnapped them?"

Ye Yuan and Ye Yi also sensed something was wrong and defended their mother, "That’s right! She’s our mother! We can prove it!"

"Captain, these two children were conned by her. She forced them to speak like that. They’re not her own, I adopted them from an orphanage. As their legal guardian, I have the right to take them away."

Ye Lu was furious, appalled that Ye Wanli could utter such vile words just to snatch the kids away.

"You’re spouting nonsense! They’re my biological children. How could you lie so shamelessly?"

Ye Wanli, who wasn’t even blushing, showed the adoption papers. "Officers, you can have a look. Am I not the legal guardian?"

The officers nodded after quickly glancing over the paperwork, then shot a cold glare at Ye Lu.

"Miss Ye, the evidence is conclusive. Do not obstruct our work. We’re taking the children."

Policemen immediately went forward and whisked the two terrified children away.

"We’re not going with you! She is our mother!" Ye Yuan and Ye Yi struggled in defiance.

Ye Lu’s eyes welled up with tears, and in anguish, she tried rushing forward to reclaim her children.

"They’re my children! You can’t take them away! Let go of them!"

She was like a frantic lioness protecting her cubs, her eyes burning in rage as she lunged forward.

"I said let go of my children!"

The policemen were stunned by her crazed state and froze for a moment.

"What are you standing around for? This woman is crazy! Hurry and get her!" Ye Wanli urged anxiously.

Several officers quickly pinned down Ye Lu, restraining her flailing arms and legs while the others hurriedly carried the children away.

Watching her beloved children being taken away right before her eyes, Ye Lu’s heart felt as if it was being torn apart. Her tears flowed uncontrollably as she cried out in despair.

"You can’t do this! I beg you! I’m their mother! You can’t take my children away! I beg you..."

Her desperate cries and screams failed to move the officers.

Meanwhile, Ye Wanli looked on dispassionately, finding grim pleasure in her struggle. He thought, her audacity to challenge him would be her downfall.

He’d manipulate her like a cash cow for over a decade, he wouldn’t let her have the upper hand now!

Once the children were in the car, the officers shoved Ye Lu aside, hurriedly got in the car with Ye Wanli, and sped off.

"Ye Wanli, you’re so despicable! I’ll fight you to the end!" Crying, Ye Lu lunged at him. At this moment, she no longer saw him as a father figure, but wished him dead.

However, Ye Wanli ruthlessly shoved her onto the ground, his face a twisted mask of derision.

"Dream on if you want to see your children!"

The car vanished into the distance, leaving a cloud of dust in its wake.

Ye Lu gave chase, but after just a few hundred meters, the car had completely disappeared at the crossroads. She collapsed onto the ground, succumbing to despair and sobbed uncontrollably.
