My Skill Bar is Full of Monster Skills
Chapter 401 - 225: I Can Trust You with the Task
"Wow! Raine, such a powerful Drow Elf was actually slain by you?"
"Raine, did you take him down single-handedly?"
Chris, Fabian, and Grande couldn’t help but look at Raine, a complex emotion surging in their hearts.
Even though Raine’s previously displayed talent already hinted at his extraordinary nature, as young men with their own ambitions, they couldn’t help but feel somewhat competitive.
It’s not that they necessarily wanted to surpass Raine, but if Raine belonged to the highly talented group, then they considered themselves among the relatively talented too.
Specifically, in their imagination, when Raine reached Level 10 Classes, they should at least be around Level 7 or 8.
But now, that ’filter’ was thoroughly shattered.
They understood clearly that with the strength of that female Drow, even given ten more years, they had little confidence in defeating her. Yet Raine managed to kill such an enemy.
This implies that Level 5 Classes might be the least significant part of Raine’s strength.
His true power has already surpassed the Level 5 Classes, possibly reaching Level 8, 9, or even higher.
This gap is so significant that it requires them to look up to him!
No, even looking up, their necks would feel sore from the extent!
At this time, Chris stepped forward, lightly patted Raine on the chest, and said with a bitter smile:
"Raine, do you remember what you said to us that day when you bid us farewell? ’Parting is for a better reunion.’
"But why do I feel that although this reunion is better, it also makes us a bit awkward?"
"Hahaha!" Hearing this, everyone present couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
"Cough, cough!" Laisa almost choked on a piece of roast meat from laughing.
As the Fireplace Bar’s specialty dish, malt beer roasted pork ribs, was served, the atmosphere in the box immediately became even more lively.
After drinking and chatting warmly, even Chris and the Giant Blade Squad, Mage Loren, and Dwarf Bruno, who were not very familiar with each other, became acquainted, frequently toasting and exchanging pleasantries.
"Knock, knock, knock!"
At this moment, the sound of knocking was heard rhythmically.
"Come in!"
As the door opened, a chubby, middle-aged man with a handlebar mustache, holding a glass of red wine, walked in with a beaming smile, followed by two beautiful barmaids.
"I am Daniel, the owner of the Fireplace Bar. Upon hearing that Mr. Skull Crusher is dining here tonight, I specifically came by to offer a toast."
As he spoke, his shrewd eyes quickly scanned the room, soon locking onto Raine clad in a brand new Power Suit.
"Mr. Daniel, that’s very kind of you," Raine replied with a slight nod and smile.
"Mr. Skull Crusher, your presence is an honor to our establishment."
Daniel drained his glass of red wine in one gulp and then gestured to the bottle held by the maid behind him, saying, "These are two bottles of thirty-year-old Bordeaux vintage, I hope you enjoy them, Mr. Skull Crusher."
"Thank you, Mr. Daniel, you are too kind."
"It’s the least I could do! Please, enjoy your meal!" With that, owner Daniel tactfully made a swift exit.
At this moment, the captain of the Giant Blade Squad, Schneider, whispered:
"Raine, I heard that unless one is a Bronze Level Adventurer, the owner of this Fireplace Bar, Daniel, usually doesn’t make an appearance."
Raine nodded.
He hadn’t seen Daniel before.
"No wonder we’ve eaten here so many times yet never encountered owner Daniel before, let alone him bringing wine!"
Dwarf Bruno commented begrudgingly, his tone carrying some dissatisfaction with the bar owner’s selective courtesy.
"By the way, Mr. Raine, do we have any missions or actions planned next?"
Having just decided to join the war group led by Raine, Schneider was eager to act, driven both by the desire to showcase himself and to again witness Raine’s exceptional combat abilities.
Thinking about it, Raine asked, "Captain Schneider, have there been any updates from Dorne City lately?"
The Giant Blade Squad, being a veteran Black Iron Level Adventurer Squad, should have relatively reliable sources of information.
"Dorne City?" Schneider appeared to have remembered something, his thick brows slightly furrowed as he thought aloud, "Now that you mention it, there have been some odd happenings there recently."
"A number of adventurers with accents from the Winterless City area have been showing up at the Dorne City Guild, and it’s unclear why they’ve come all this way."
"Moreover, it seems that the forces responsible for the critical positions of city defense aren’t from the Kingdom’s forces, but rather the Black Fist Army."
"I’ve heard the same," said Hayley, the enchanting fire mage from the Giant Blade Squad. "The trade guilds I deal with have been subtly hinted to sell essential resources like iron and copper at a lower price to merchants from Winterless City."
"This amounts to forced transactions; doesn’t the Kingdom intervene?"
"Yes, it is quite strange!"
"Count Lillard, the Governor, has also been unusually unresponsive!"
Hearing this, and combining the information previously provided by Shapeshifter Viss, Raine began piecing together the overall picture of the Dorne City incident in his mind.
