"Do you think Leon Rivers is a quack doctor? He examines every cell in a patient’s body, how else could he achieve such precision without any oversight?"

Jared Quinn’s words made sense, yet there was something off about them.

"Alright, get up, I don’t want to sit on the sofa, I want to sit in your seat," Melody Thorne pointed to the leather chair Jared was sitting in.

Jared Quinn scoffed, the world was vast but nothing was bigger than his wife, only she dared to throw a tantrum like this with him.

Melody Thorne sat down, casually opened Jared’s drawer to find a pen, and thought about what Nina King had said—not only their agency but also Radiant Entertainment wanted to push their newcomers forward, meaning they were competitors. Now, she had to work harder, even paying attention to what she wore to each appearance.

"Coffee for the president," Wendy Lynch entered from outside, carrying a cup of coffee and a glass of milk, placing them on Jared Quinn’s desk. "The milk is for sister-in-law."

"Thank you," Melody Thorne took a sip and began to scrutinize Wendy Lynch.

She remembered Wendy Lynch’s personality wasn’t like this before; she used to be bratty and willful, but now seemed more restrained. She always felt Nina King was holding back something, but couldn’t see it clearly.

"No need to thank me, sister-in-law," Wendy Lynch walked out, closing the door on her way.

"Who threw this trash around?" A sharp voice echoed down the hallway.

Wendy Lynch walked over, her face suddenly turning pale upon seeing the trash in the employee’s hand. She rushed over and snatched it, saying, "What’s with the yelling? It’s mine. Just throw it in the trash can next time."

"Miss Lynch, if it’s yours, it’s yours. We didn’t say anything. Why are you so agitated? It looks like just a regular coffee bag—is there a reason to get so worked up?"

It almost scared her to death; a person not knowing might think it was poison.

Wendy Lynch’s expression worsened at the employee’s words, her hands hidden in her sleeves subtly shaking. "What nonsense are you spouting? Want me to report your negligence at work to my cousin?"

The employee glanced at her again, then turned and left.

Wendy Lynch clenched the thing tightly; she had been careless!

Half an hour later, Leon Rivers entered the office.

"How’s it going?" Melody Thorne immediately stood up, "Leon Rivers, do you have a way to save him?"

Leon Rivers touched his chin, his peripheral vision caught the man behind her as he nodded understandingly. "Don’t worry, sister-in-law, as long as Leon Rivers is here, nothing is unsolvable."

"You mean he can be saved?" Melody Thorne looked at him skeptically. After all, so many people said he couldn’t be saved, yet Leon Rivers said he could.

"Yes, yes," Leon Rivers’ eyes dodged.

How could it be? Others had no means, let alone him. Doctors didn’t differ much. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"So when will he get better?" Melody Thorne looked at him.

"Well, it might take some time to recover," Leon Rivers’ eyes dodged, clearly making him lie.

"Don’t worry," Jared Quinn interrupted their conversation at a fitting moment. "Hungry? Want to grab something to eat?"

"Not hungry," she had no appetite now, only wanted to see how Hans Montrose was doing.

Why did Leon Rivers suddenly say he could be cured?
