Chapter 25: Sweet Revenge II

Peter stood at the entrance of the cave, his eyes locked onto Lily with murderous intent burning within them.

At the center, Zac remained calm with Lily standing beside him, her gaze fixed on Peter, filled with a mix of emotions.

"Who are you, ruining our special moment like a worm in an apple?"

[Seriously, that’s the best metaphor you can come up with?]

Peter, twisted with anger, snapped back, shouting. "Shut your mouth. You think you can touch what’s mine?"

Zac frowned slightly, glancing at Lily. "Mine? What is he talking about...Lily?"

"I... I..."

"So you really don’t know anything?" Peter stepped forward with uncontrollable anger.

He let out a bitter laugh. "She is a bitch that switches sides the moment she smells an advantage. She’ll fuck anyone if it benefits her."

His eyes burned as he continued, "She threw away her ex and became my sex toy because I had money. And now... she’s doing the same thing again, just to be with you."

Lily’s breath caught in her throat as Peter’s words echoed through the cave.

"Lily... tell me," his eyes searching hers, "is what he’s saying true? Didn’t you say I was the one you’ve been waiting for all this time?"

"Wait, she said what?" Peter let out a mocking laugh. "Oh, I get it, you know what? She told me the exact same thing. Not even a single word changed."

"Tell him, Lily, tell him how you left your boyfriend to be with me. Tell him everything you did just to please me. Tell him how you used him and cheated on him, just to get what you wanted from me."

"I didn’t!" Lily shouted, her voice echoing through the cave.

Zac stepped closer and turned her toward him. His eyes trembled slightly as he looked at her.

"Lily... explain it to me. Don’t worry, I won’t judge you for what happened before. What matters is who you are now... and how you feel about me."

Hearing his words, Lily felt her confidence return. For a moment, she was certain that Zac had already fallen for her and would do anything she asked.

"Really?" she said softly, her eyes searching his. "Do you love me that much? Would you do anything for me? Do you really believe me?"

"Yes, Lily," Zac replied without hesitation. "I would believe you to the end of this world and would do anything for you."

"I love you... with all my heart and soul." A few tears slipped from his eyes.

Then, suddenly, his grip on her shoulders loosened. He straightened his back, and the softness in his expression faded slowly, changing into a sinister one.

"And that is what the old me would have said."

"What?" Lily’s voice wavered, confusion flashing across her face.

Zac stopped using his Divine Aura, Unmatched Charisma.

In the next moment,

The invisible pull around him, the weight of his presence and the quiet charm that lingered in the air, disappeared all at once.

Lily clutched her head, her balance faltering for a second, as if her senses had been torn apart. When she looked at him again, her expression had changed.

"You kept asking me my name, didn’t you?"

"My name is Zac Godson."

"What...?" Her body trembled as she took a step back with disbelief spreading across her face.

"Yes," he continued with a cold gaze. "The same Zac Godson you cheated on. The same Zac Godson you treated like a fool... the same Zac Godson you played in the palm of your hand."

"No... no, no... this can’t be happening," she whispered, shaking her head. "How is this possible? You..."

Zac looked at Peter with a mocking smile on his lips. "So tell me, Peter... how does it feel to be betrayed by the same person you once betrayed?"

The words struck like a blade.

Peter’s body froze with anger and humiliation.

Lily, shaken by everything, snapped back to her senses and rushed toward Peter and dropped to her knees, clutching at him desperately.

"Peter, listen to me," she pleaded with a trembling voice. "He did something to me... I don’t know how, but he made me act like this. I lost my senses, and my mind was clouded. Please believe in me."

Peter’s expression darkened. In a sudden burst of rage, he kicked her hard in the chest.

Lily fell back, rolling across the ground before coughing up blood. He stepped forward, grabbed her by the hair, and dragged her up.

"SLAP!"

"You want me to believe that?"

"SLAP!"

"Do you think I’m a fool? I knew what kind of person you were from the start."

"SLAP!"

"I was just playing with you. Do you really think someone like me, a young master of the Richie family, would choose a skank like you?"

"I was only with you because you were popular and a school belle."

He sneered. "I’m an A-level potential, and soon I’ll be heading to a top academy and meet people far beyond you."

"SLAP!"

"Now that you’ve betrayed me, whatever little interest I had is gone. For what you’ve done... the only thing waiting for you is death at my hands."

"SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!"

He kept hitting her, again and again, until her face was bloodied and swollen. Blood dripped from her lips as her body went limp.

He threw her aside, her body crashing against the cave wall once again. He then turned to Zac. "Don’t think I’ll let you walk away. After I’m done with this whore, you’re next."

Suddenly hysterical laughter echoed through the cave. Both Zac and Peter looked toward Lily.

She was struggling to stand, blood staining her lips, yet she laughed again as she lifted her head and looked at Peter.

"You said I use people," she said, her voice trembling but clear. "Maybe that’s true. But who do you think you are? A saint?"

"When I told you about his treasure, you wanted it more than me."

"You were the one who pushed me to poison his mother. You even talked about killing his entire family when you couldn’t get what you wanted."

"And now you’re acting like the victim? That’s... funny."

Peter’s grip tightened around his daggers. "You’re right about one thing. I did use him." Her voice faltered slightly.

"But you... I really did love you."

She shook her head weakly. "I don’t know what he did to me... but whatever happened between me and him here... I wasn’t in my right mind."

"Shut up," Peter snapped. "You think I’d believe any of that shit?"

With a burst of rage, he lunged forward with his daggers aimed at her throat. But before the blades could reach her neck.

A sudden force slammed into his chest.

His body shot backward like a meteor, crashing into the cave wall. The impact shook the ground as cracks spread across the rock, with debris falling on him as he collapsed beneath it.

Zac looked down at Lily coldly.

"Don’t think I saved you out of pity; the only reason I stopped him... is because I wanted to be the one to finish it."

Lily collapsed to the ground, her eyes still fixed on him. For a brief moment, a faint smile touched her lips.

"How poetic to die at the hands of the one who loved me the most."

"Say whatever you want, but it isn’t going to change anything."

"I don’t want it to," she replied, her voice calm despite everything. The intensity in his eyes increased even more. "What is this? Regret at the last moment?"

He raised his sword and pointed it at her heart.

She closed her eyes, and a single tear slipped down, yet a faint smile remained on her lips.

"It would’ve been nice if I had given my love to the right person."

"But what’s the use now? There’s no cure for regret."

With a single push, the blade pierced the heart, and Lily died with that same faint smile still on her face.

Zac stood there in silence, his gaze lifting toward the cave ceiling as fragments of the past flickered through his mind.

A sound broke the stillness.

He turned and saw Peter, still alive and struggling beneath the rubble, dragging himself forward.

Blood spilled from his mouth as he forced the words out. "You... how did you become this strong...?"

Zac stood in front of him, his shadow falling over Peter’s broken form. "You know what, I never planned to include you in my revenge."

He looked down at him, eyes devoid of emotion. "But the moment I learned you were behind my mother’s poisoning... your fate was already sealed."

Peter’s body shook from fear finally overtaking his anger. "What are you going to do...? Do you even know who I am?" Peter shouted, panic rising in his voice.

"All my family members are variants. We have connections everywhere in the association. My brother is one of the top students in the Five Academies, and he is an A-rank too!"

Zac placed his foot on Peter’s chest, pinning him down. The tip of his sword was resting just at his neck.

"Don’t do this. If my family finds out... your entire family will be wiped out."

For a moment, Zac went still.

"You shouldn’t have said that."

In a single, clean strike Peter’s head rolled out of the cave.

Before stepping out of the cave, Zac paused for a moment. He turned back, his gaze falling once more on Lily’s lifeless body.

"You reap what you sow."
