Chapter 370: Chapter 346: A Life for a Life, How About It?

The Power Domain struck like a hurricane, flipping the pursuing black car and sending it crashing into the vehicles behind it.

Suddenly, the airborne car seemed to be caught by something, and it hung motionless in the air.

Alec stared in disbelief at the girl next to him, who was leaning halfway out of the car window.

He sensed a familiar Power Domain materializing around them.

「In the car ahead.」

The unconscious Elara Grant had woken up, the look in her eyes colder than before.

’Aurora Sinclair really is terrifyingly strong.’

"Miss, what do we do now?"

"Abandon the car. Scatter and run. We’ll meet at the usual spot."

Resisting the immense pressure of the Power Domain outside, Elara Grant opened her door to cover their escape.

But they didn’t get far before they were intercepted by a group of highly-trained individuals.

Alec was surprised. He hadn’t expected them to be from the National Security Department.

These agents usually trained at various bases outside the city and conducted missions there. They rarely entered the city itself.

Seeing the situation, Elara Grant abandoned her Power Domain struggle with Dawn Miles and turned to flee.

She fully unleashed her Power Domain, knocking aside several soldiers before vaulting over the side of the overpass.

Dawn Miles followed close behind, finally catching her on a deserted highway.

Elara Grant lay on the ground, panting heavily. Her silver hair didn’t look as cold under the orange streetlights as it did during the day.

Her gaze fell on the approaching figure, her eyes filled with complex emotions. "Aurora Sinclair, I’m your biological sister. Are you really going to take me in?"

Dawn Miles crouched down and stared at her fixedly. "You’ve killed people."

Elara Grant let out a soft laugh. "You’re just as pitiful as Mother..."

Her gaze held a deep pity, as if she truly felt sorry for her.

"You’re both like marionettes, with no control over your own lives."

Elara Grant broke eye contact, gazing up at the few scattered stars in the night sky as if lost in a memory.

"To repay her debt to the Morgan Family, Mother destroyed the life’s work she and Father had built over many years. And you... you were raised by them to be a lapdog for the Holy Mountain..."

Her voice was thick with indignation, and she seemed to slam her fist on the ground.

Dawn Miles watched her calmly for a moment before asking softly, "How did my parents die? Do you know?"

Elara Grant met her eyes, her expression turning cold as she said, "The Morgan Family and the Warner Family had them killed."

"I know the Trent Family was involved."

But Elara Grant said, "If Mother hadn’t betrayed Father, she wouldn’t have died. The Master has always been ruthless with traitors."

Dawn Miles watched her for a moment, then shot out two fingers and quickly struck Elara Grant’s Energy Sea Acupoint, directly sealing the "Power" in her meridians.

She said flatly, "So why should I let any of you go?"

"Because if you don’t let her go, your junior sister will die..." a strange man’s voice suddenly spoke from behind her.

Dawn Miles immediately spun around, on guard. She hadn’t even noticed the man’s approach.

He was carrying the unconscious Leigh Miles on his shoulder.

Dawn Miles clenched her fists tightly and slowly rose to her feet.

"The metal ring on her wrist is a micro-bomb. Only Alvin Morgan can disarm it, and it’s set to detonate in... 1 hour and 49 minutes. You can only save one. Who will it be?"

The man broke into a smile and showed her the metal ring on Leigh Miles’s wrist.

Rage flared in Dawn Miles, and her Power Domain surged. The man immediately channeled his own Power to resist. "I wouldn’t waste time if I were you. If I die, you’ll be treated to a special kind of fireworks show at tomorrow’s tournament venue."

He pulled out a small remote control.

"This controls the countdown. Press and hold the button, and her timer will rapidly count down to zero and detonate."

He even demonstrated as he spoke, nearly provoking Dawn Miles into snatching it from him.

The man immediately released his thumb and said with a smile, "My goal is to get her out of here, so I’ll leave this with your junior sister. A life for a life, how about it?"

Dawn Miles glanced at the smugly smiling girl on the ground, her lips pressed into a tight line.

She stepped aside, moving a dozen or so paces away.

The man shook his head, chuckling softly. "Not far enough."

Clenching her fists, Dawn Miles walked another dozen or so meters away.

Only then did he walk forward, cautiously placing Leigh Miles on the ground and hoisting Elara Grant onto his back.

"The remote," Dawn Miles said, her voice heavy.

The man smiled at her, then hurled the remote as far as he could in the opposite direction. With Elara Grant on his back, he fled frantically.

Dawn Miles moved like lightning, darting in the direction the remote had fallen and catching it successfully.

The timer on the micro-bomb on Leigh Miles’s wrist now showed only 1 hour and 24 minutes remaining.

Dawn Miles quickly scooped up Leigh Miles and raced back, moving with an inhuman, wind-like speed.

Dawn Miles commandeered a black car from the Martial Affairs Bureau and sped away.

She didn’t know how she knew how to drive. She had no memory of this Skill, but the moment she sat behind the wheel, she instinctively knew what to do.

"Ma’am, where are you going?" Alec shouted in surprise, chasing after the car.

But the black car had already shot off like an arrow from a bow.

In the car, Dawn Miles dialed Alvin Morgan’s number.

It was noisy on his end, as if he were somewhere crowded.

"Get to the Martial Affairs Bureau. I’m here now."

Alvin Morgan hung up the phone. He looked at the bodies and blood covering the floor of the room, his lips pressed into a tight line.

"Did you get the surveillance footage?"

"Got it. Connecting it to the computer now," Benjamin Morgan replied, holding a laptop.

"Is Raina Young awake?"

Alvin Morgan dialed Beta Morgan’s number.

"She’s awake, but she’s not in her right mind. She’s just hugging herself and shaking, muttering the same thing over and over..."

"What is she saying?"

"’Don’t kill me... I didn’t mean to hurt you...’"

Alvin Morgan stiffened, his brow furrowing even deeper.

Beta Morgan continued, "Sir, the person on duty at the entrance said the attacker claimed to be Raina Young’s niece."

Just then, Benjamin Morgan finished connecting the laptop.

"Sir, the video is ready..."

With a grave expression, Alvin Morgan took the laptop and started to watch the footage.

In the video, a girl with a similar build to Aurora Sinclair, wearing a tracksuit and a hat, was signing some papers in the reception hall.

Whether intentionally or not, she actually looked up at the security camera.

The face, which was incredibly similar to Aurora Sinclair’s, made Alvin Morgan’s eyes widen.

"Sir, is that..." Benjamin Morgan, who was also watching, was so shocked he almost cried out.

Alvin Morgan immediately denied it. "It’s not her. Aurora doesn’t smile."

Benjamin Morgan: ...

CRASH—

The teacup shattered on the floor.

Drake Trent shot to his feet. "They were all captured?"

The pressure in the room suddenly intensified, striking fear into the hearts of everyone present.

August Trent held his breath and looked at him cautiously. "Besides Miss Grant, who was rescued, the prospects for the others are grim..."

Drake Trent’s expression became exceedingly grim. ’This was definitely a pre-planned ambush. It’s only been a little over an hour since Elara Grant made her move. The National Security Department is always stationed outside the city; it’s impossible for them to have entered this fast and coordinated so precisely with the Martial Affairs Bureau to capture everyone.’

’This means that the higher-ups in the National Security Department must have deployed agents throughout Kingsford a long time ago.’

"It seems I underestimated the Morgan Family. Where is Mr. Y?"

"He’s on his way back. He was the one who rescued Miss Grant. He told us to prepare a Nutrition Repair Chamber immediately. Miss Grant is in very bad shape."

The color drained from Drake Trent’s face slightly. He immediately ordered August Trent to make the preparations.

’Elara Grant is a key figure in the lab. Absolutely nothing can happen to her...’
