"Hehe, Cao Zixiu, it’s done, let go of His Majesty." Wang Yue glanced at Cao Ang and said, not paying any attention to what Liu Xie was saying.

"I’m afraid I cannot do that. Without the Emperor, I can’t leave Changle." Cao Ang said in a deep voice.

Wang Yue turned to look at Fuu Wan, who took a deep breath, suppressing his anger before speaking, "I told you before, I can get you out."

"I know the Imperial Guard is under your command, but if I let go of the Emperor, you’ll have me dead with just a word." Cao Ang replied coldly.

"You cannot die right now!" Fuu Wan suppressed his inner anger as much as he could and spoke to Cao Ang in a calm voice.

"Let go of the Emperor." Wang Yue spoke to Cao Ang again. Cao Ang slowly released the Emperor, then suddenly leaped backward, half-kneeling on the ground, respectfully addressing Liu Xie, "I beg Your Majesty to forgive my previous offense, and I plead Your Majesty to pardon my grave disrespect."

Liu Xie hadn’t reacted immediately after Cao Ang released him, but when Cao Ang leaped back and knelt to apologize, Liu Xie finally reacted, hysterically shouting, "Guard, guard, kill him for me, Wang Yue, kill him for me!"

However, the study seemed completely isolated from the outside world, with no one entering and nobody dealing with Cao Ang. Wang Yue watched coldly, while Cao Ang lowered his head and chuckled, Fuu Wan’s face full of disappointment.

"Why, why?" Liu Xie yelled in anger with no one appearing until he was hoarse and finally stood there in a daze, reaching out to stabilize himself on the desk to avoid falling due to lack of oxygen.

Wang Yue watched casually as if nothing had happened, while Cao Ang chuckled coldly; only Fuu Wan approached, looking miserable, and supported Liu Xie.

Fuu Wan supported Liu Xie, who only recovered after a while before suddenly recognizing Fuu Wan and shouted at him in anger, "Get out, get out, you rebellious minister! It’s all your fault, all because of you!"

Liu Xie furiously roared at Fuu Wan, unable to call for the Imperial Guard, unable to command Wang Yue, and with Cao Ang being an enemy; only Fuu Wan could be the outlet for his rage.

Fuu Wan faced Liu Xie’s hysterical shouting with a face showing neither sadness nor joy, just watching Liu Xie as if his heart was dying.

Liu Xie’s venting seemed endless, from furious yelling to physical outburst, while Fuu Wan stood there, bearing Liu Xie’s entire assault.

Until Liu Xie threw everything off the desk save for one Imperial Seal, which he grabbed and hurled at Fuu Wan’s forehead.

Fuu Wan took the hit without dodging, blood flowed down his forehead, splitting at the brow and along the nose, noticeably thinning as it reached the eye corner.

Probably because of the sight of blood, Liu Xie’s hysteria finally stopped.

At this moment, Fuu Wan’s silent demeanor as he deeply bowed to Liu Xie gave both Liu Xie and even Cao Ang a feeling of eerie dread.

"Your Majesty, you are no longer young." Fuu Wan lifted the corners of his mouth in a smile, helping Liu Xie adjust his Black Clothes and setting the Imperial Crown properly, "Sometimes when we cannot help, Your Majesty must find your own path."

Fuu Wan extended his somewhat rough hands from years of martial training, slowly helping Liu Xie tidy up his outfit.

"Your Majesty, some lessons can only be learned through personal experience to understand what’s right or wrong. The true nature of loyalty or betrayal in this world is not easily discerned. For those who are capable, you need to show respect, and sometimes reality may differ from your understanding, and you need to restrain yourself." Fuu Wan remarked quietly while arranging the Black Clothes.

"Your Majesty, an Emperor should conceal emotions at all times, never displaying personal feelings, and should always consider things carefully before acting." Fuu Wan spoke quietly.

Concluding these efforts and words, Fuu Wan slowly moved back, at which point Liu Xie, previously disheveled due to hysterical rage, was now tidying his attire and appeared to have regained some imperial dignity.

Fuu Wan retreated five steps, knelt on both knees, deeply bowed three times to the Emperor, then stood and headed towards the study’s door, a cold expression that even Cao Ang was reluctant to meet.

"Cao Zixiu, you should leave as well." Fuu Wan pushed open the door, leaving with blood still uncared for on his face, while Wang Yue glanced outside at the Imperial Guards standing like puppets before speaking to Cao Ang.

Upon hearing this, Cao Ang immediately ceased speaking, turned directly to leave, pursuing Fuu Wan, while Wang Yue also vanished, leaving only Liu Xie alone in the grand study, feeling his legs weaken and collapsing backward into his chair.

Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the Imperial Seal on the desk, with the dark red bloodstain glaring offensively, while palace maids and eunuchs silently entered to tidy the study.

When Cao Ang caught up with Fuu Wan, Fuu Wan was already near the Palace Gate.

"Marquis Buqi, wait." Cao Ang chased after Fuu Wan, calling out, intentionally not addressing him as Father-in-law of the Country.

Fuu Wan’s steps paused, he then turned to look at Cao Ang, where Cao Ang saw that blood on Fuu Wan’s forehead had dripped along the nose bone, leaving two clear blood marks on his face.

"Cao Zixiu, do you have something to ask?" Fuu Wan turned to look at Cao Ang.

"Were the Imperial Guards trained by you, Marquis Buqi?" Cao Ang looked at Fuu Wan and asked.

"Yes." Fuu Wan replied.

"Could you lend them to me? I wish to head north to resist the Southern Huns, but unfortunately, I only have a mere twenty thousand troops. I observed the Imperial Guards to be well-armed and highly trained, seemingly elite troops, so I hope that Marquis Buqi can join me in heading north to stop the Southern Huns from plundering." Cao Ang solemnly requested, bowing deeply to Fuu Wan.

"Rise." Fuu Wan spoke coldly to Cao Ang.

Cao Ang straightened his back and looked at Fuu Wan, and Fuu Wan also regarded Cao Ang, seeing no trace of deceit on his face, only resoluteness and sincerity.

"Like father, like son; a son with the bearing of a ruler, perhaps the father is equally a conqueror." Fuu Wan said slowly while gazing at Cao Ang, then handed a pair of Jade Pendants from his waist along with the Seal ribbon of the Imperial Guard Commander to Cao Ang, and thereafter left without further words.

The next day when Cao Ang dispatched his troops, cries of mourning were heard from the Marquis Buqi’s Residence, where Fuu Wan, dressed in white, knelt before the altar and committed suicide by sword.

Upon hearing the news, Cao Ang finally understood why Fuu Wan had spoken so much to the Emperor then; it was because he was heartbroken yet unwilling to see the Emperor walk the path to ruin.
