"Kaido, are you scared?"

Whitebeard held Murakumogiri, his sharp gaze fixed on Kaido.

He was furious with Kaido—primarily because of Kozuki Oden’s death.

Oden had been the commander of the Whitebeard Pirates’ Second Division before being "Borrowed" by Roger. This had even led to a battle between the Roger Pirates and the Whitebeard Pirates.

In the end, Oden had left with the Roger Pirates, promising to return after a year. However, he never did. He went back to his homeland, Wano. Whitebeard had felt a bit resentful about this.

But if he had known Oden’s situation at the time, Whitebeard would have undoubtedly charged into Wano to help him.

However, Oden never informed the Whitebeard Pirates, perhaps out of guilt.

"SCARED? ME, KAIDO, SCARED???"

Though Kaido denied it, his hand instinctively touched a massive scar on his body.

Kaido had three scars in total. The cross-shaped scar was from Kozuki Oden. The other was from a slash by Shin.

"WHITEBEARD, TO HELL WITH YOU!"

He swung his Kanabō, the air exploding from the force of the blow. The shockwave rushed towards Whitebeard, who narrowed his eyes at Kaido.

"Hmph! In front of me, you’re just a brat... I AM WHITEBEARD."

Facing the aggressive Kaido, Whitebeard’s surroundings began to tremble. The sea and sky were thrown into turmoil.

"Retreat! Fall back!"

Kaido’s three All-Stars immediately ordered the Beast Pirates to retreat.

The collateral damage from the clash between Kaido and Whitebeard was too Great. If they stayed, they would be caught in the crossfire.

"We’re pulling back too!" Marco glanced at the other Division Commanders, signaling them to retreat as well.

If they didn’t, the massive waves would capsize all their ships except for the Moby Dick.

Shin, watching the approaching waves, was about to act when Olvia used her Rumble-Rumble Fruit to blast them apart.

"I don’t think you need to intervene in such a small matter," Olvia said with a smile.

"A pity. We missed our chance to act."

Hancock sheathed the Ame no Habakiri she had half-drawn.

She was confident she could have cut through such small waves. At the level of a master swordsman, she already possessed considerable ability. At full power, she could slice a ship in two. Though, against a specially made warship, it would likely be a different story.

"I wonder what the result is?"

Robin looked curiously into the distance. The waves had blocked their view of the earlier clash between Whitebeard and Kaido.

But now, they could see clearly. Whitebeard seemed unharmed, but Kaido looked to be in a bad state.

One of his arms was a bloody mess, and his body had been thrown to the edge of the island. He was panting heavily as he looked at Whitebeard.

"POPS IS INVINCIBLE!" Marco, the pineapple-head, showed a hint of joy on his usually expressionless face.

"Kaido’s nowhere near Pops’ level!"

"Exactly! Challenging him is just asking to get crushed."

"Hey, Commanders, should we take this opportunity to wipe out the Beast Pirates?"

The members of the Whitebeard Pirates were ecstatic. Their Pops was amazing.

"Kaido was defeated that easily?" Hancock couldn’t help but look at Kaido with disdain.

"No, actually, Kaido’s injuries aren’t that severe."

Shin glanced at Kaido. He could see how vigorous Kaido’s life force was. Kaido just looked severely injured.

ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Kaido roared, his body expanding in the wind. In an instant, he transformed into a Dragon—an incomparably huge dragon. He exuded a powerful pressure. The Zoan Devil Fruit users, in particular, felt an even greater pressure from Kaido.

"Marco, are you alright? You don’t look too good."

The fifth Division Commander, Flower Sword Vista, asked Marco.

Blue flames appeared on Marco’s body. These flames caused no harm, they were flames of regeneration, capable of healing his injuries.

"I’m fine." Marco nodded. He was in relatively good condition.

However, Kaido’s pressure still affected him somewhat.

"WHITEBEARD, I’LL MAKE YOU AND THIS ISLAND DISAPPEAR FROM THE SEA!" Kaido gripped the clouds, floating in the air, and roared angrily.

"GURARARARA! Kaido, you brat! You’re still too young! You don’t have the strength!"

Whitebeard laughed, facing the dragon-transformed Kaido, a surge of domineering aura erupting from his body.

Whitebeard’s Conqueror’s Haki was also at the top tier of the One Piece world. He completely ignored Kaido’s draconic pressure.

"I didn’t expect Kaido’s ability to be so strong. He can even transform into a legendary dragon." Aokiji looked deeply at Kaido.

Before, though the Marines had taken Kaido seriously, they hadn’t put him on the same level as Whitebeard. But now, seeing the strength Kaido displayed, though not as strong as Whitebeard, it wasn’t far off.

Aokiji wasn’t confident he could take down Kaido.

Whitebeard didn’t swing his sword. He clenched his fist and threw a punch forward. The very air was torn apart by the force of the tremor.

The flames were dispersed by Whitebeard’s Tremor-Tremor Fruit ability, and the force of the tremor continued, striking Kaido’s body.

SPLAT!!!

The dragon-formed Kaido’s eyes rolled back. He spat out a mouthful of blood, and a few of his teeth were knocked out.

"That was a heavy punch from Whitebeard." Shin chuckled lightly. He had knocked Kaido senseless with one punch.

The current Whitebeard was indeed a notch stronger than Kaido. Perhaps in the future, at the start of the story, Whitebeard wouldn’t be able to defeat Kaido.

But even if he couldn’t defeat Kaido, he definitely wouldn’t be defeated by him. In any era, Whitebeard’s strength stood at the pinnacle of this world.

"Kaido-sama is injured! Should we intervene?" Jack asked King and Queen.

Jack was already itching to act. He wanted to rescue Kaido.

And facing Whitebeard, he wasn’t afraid. Jack was not weak. You could tell from his bounty. He was a being who could destroy a country by himself. Unfortunately, his brain wasn’t very bright.

Still... a guy like him would make a good subordinate.

"Don’t interfere. Just watch quietly." Queen glanced at Jack and said calmly.
