Chapter 194: Who Could Kill Ootakemaru in Such a Short Amount of Time?
In the western part of Xinwudao City, a gaunt, elongated Evil Spirit was moving at astonishing speed.
It flitted about like a phantom, and every ordinary person in its path was utterly defenseless,
as fragile as tofu.
Faced with the terrifying Shy One’s frenzied impacts,
one person after another was instantly torn to pieces. Blood splattered and chunks of flesh flew through the air.
The scene was too gruesome to watch, and the stench of blood filled the air.
Meanwhile, in the eastern part of the city, an Evil Spirit resembling a human centipede slithered and squirmed through the streets.
Its body was constantly growing longer, the Mysterious Power it emitted becoming ever more tyrannical, and the danger it posed increasing by the day.
In just a few short hours, the oppressive aura emanating from Si Haowen was no less potent than the Shy One’s.
"Who likes me?"
"Come and be my fans."
"I am your light, your warmth, your role model."
Si Haowen muttered incessantly, a strange, pale smile plastered on his face.
The men, women, old, and young baring their teeth and claws on his body used all their hands and feet,
scrambling forward at a speed that seemed utterly at odds with its bloated, massive form.
"We’ve found one! We’ve found someone here who likes us!"
"He’s hiding under a table in the coffee shop."
"Make him join us. I can smell so many people who like us... The coffee shop! Go to the coffee shop!"
The figures of men, women, old, and young on its body cried out impatiently.
Si Haowen’s gaze fell upon the elegantly decorated coffee shop,
and his long, enormous body moved swiftly in that direction.
Inside the coffee shop, many customers were indeed hiding under tables and against the walls.
When they realized the Evil Spirit was invading, accompanied by the shrill, piercing sirens that blared ceaselessly from the sky,
they had immediately sought shelter and sealed the coffee shop’s doors and windows shut.
Unfortunately, the seemingly sturdy walls were smashed to smithereens with ease by Si Haowen,
sending up clouds of dust, stone, and debris flying everywhere.
As Si Haowen entered the coffee shop, even more piercing screams erupted from within.
WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!
A dense barrage of strange projectiles shot down from the sky,
trailing cold, black mist and making the very ground of Xinwudao City tremble violently.
Brilliant yet bizarre "flowers" bloomed one after another, then unleashed a terrifyingly low temperature that swept out in all directions.
Even the surrounding buildings seemed unable to withstand the erosion of this Mysterious Power,
soon showing signs of decay before collapsing with a great crash.
These attacks were all aimed at the Shy One and Si Haowen as large numbers of Martial Artists entered the fray.
They cordoned off the streets to prevent the two terrifying Evil Spirits from spreading outward,
while simultaneously taking swift action to rescue the civilians trapped in crisis and extreme panic.
"Reinforcements have finally arrived.
But they’re just a disorderly mob, fit only to become fodder for Si Haowen."
Chu He stood on the rooftop, gave the scene a cursory glance, and then, losing interest, sat down on the edge of the roof,
his legs dangling over the side.
Gusts of sea breeze howled in from the distance, rustling Chu He’s dark hair.
Many people, upon seeing the horrific scenes on the streets below, had already chosen to attack the Shy One directly,
but without exception, they were all brutally killed by it.
Someone even brought out a powerful, mysterious weapon and, after charging it for a full ten minutes, unleashed a strike that nearly tore space itself.
It blasted the Shy One’s head, shoulders, and chest to smithereens.
But the Shy One reassembled itself in a matter of seconds,
and then crushed the Martial Artist who had used the powerful, mysterious weapon to death with its bare hands.
THUD!
A heavy object plummeted from the sky, landing hard on the rooftop behind Chu He with a dull thud.
Chu He didn’t even turn his head, simply stating calmly, "The White-Red Empire sending just you alone
is far from enough.
If you don’t want to die, you can join the Great Xia Empire and be a watchdog."
"Do you know who you’re talking to?"
a hoarse voice, filled with endless fury and authority, came from behind Chu He.
"I don’t care who you are.
All you need to know is that if you try to make a move on me, you will certainly die."
Chu He’s voice remained flat, as if nothing in the world could move him.
"You’re courting death!"
The person standing behind him was clearly enraged, their tone filled with fury.
This newcomer was none other than Ootakemaru of the White-Red Empire.
He was tall and powerfully built, as magnificent and vast as a mountain, appearing as though he could touch the very heavens just by standing there.
His robust physique had hard, defined muscle lines, every inch of him exuding an unparalleled sense of power.
His facial features were highly distinctive, with a massive demonic mask that looked even more ferocious and terrifying in the sunlight.
When anger surged through him, his white hair and purple eyes instantly transformed, his pupils turning red, a chilling sight to behold.
He was seen wielding the Great Tonglian and Little Tonglian, two of the Three Bright Swords,
and with a single stride forward, he brought them down in a mighty slash toward Chu He’s seated form.
However, Chu He remained seated, his figure suddenly beginning to twist and swirl
like a mysterious vortex.
The two swords in Ootakemaru’s hands felt as if they had stabbed into empty air,
even though, to his eyes, he had clearly pierced Chu He’s body.
"This is called the Void Scripture. It’s quite profound and powerful."
Chu He’s distorted figure instantly appeared behind Ootakemaru.
BOOM!
In an instant, the sky grew dark and overcast,
lightning crisscrossed within the clouds, and a torrential storm began to pour down.
Some of the falling rain was actually blazing fire, a bizarre and unnatural sight.
The rain of fire and the torrential downpour intertwined, with lightning constantly streaking through,
instantly engulfing the entire building.
Chu He had read in historical texts that Ootakemaru could shroud mountains in black clouds
and possessed the Divine Power to control storms, lightning, and fire rain. He was known as the Ghost God Demon King.
At this moment, Ootakemaru’s face had become green with fangs, fully revealing his terrifying form as a Ghost God.
A red, compound eye had also appeared on his lower torso, adding an extra layer of indescribable weirdness.
This area was like the scene of a natural disaster, with the intertwining storm, fire rain, and lightning creating a hair-raising spectacle.
SCHLICK!
Ootakemaru couldn’t even pinpoint Chu He’s exact location before the world began to spin around him.
In an instant, the swirling black clouds, the storm, the lightning, the fire, and the rain—
this entire horrifying, cataclysmic scene vanished without a trace.
Sunlight once again scattered down from the sky.
Neither the strange flying objects in the sky
nor the reinforcing Martial Artists from the White-Red Empire understood what had just happened.
The scene had appeared and disappeared so quickly; it was simply too strange.
...
「White-Red Empire Defense Command Headquarters.」
"What in the world happened? How did Ootakemaru’s signature attack end so quickly?"
"A Martial Artist on the front lines just sent in the latest battle report! Ootakemaru... Ootakemaru has been killed! His head is on the ground!"
"Impossible! Ootakemaru is a Deity! Who could possibly kill him so quickly?"
The bustling Defense Command Headquarters was thrown into a state of utter shock.
