Necromancer: I Am A Disaster
Chapter 752: You’ve Turned Into A Hedgehog
At the center of the three stars, something unusual began to take shape.
It resembled a drifting gas, yet it gave Lin Moyu the profound sensation of a world being born.
Antares explained, “The advantage of multiple-star law arts isn’t limited to a huge boost in power.”
“Since the stars share the same origin, they possess the same nature and even the same law.”
“When multiple-star law arts operate, that shared nature is amplified.”
“What you’re witnessing now is the manifestation of the law of undeath. Through it, you can comprehend this law far more easily.”
“Once you grasp the law of undeath, your law arts will grow even stronger.”
Two-star law arts merely enhanced flexibility and versatility.
But from three-star onward, each additional star brought a great increase in power.
Logically, forming a three-star law art should already result in a major boost.
Yet the benefits didn’t stop there.
As the three stars linked together, the previously intangible law of undeath began to manifest at their center.
Unlike something invisible and untouchable, this manifested law was far easier to comprehend.
The difficulty of grasping first tier and second tier laws lay precisely in them being invisible and intangible.
Across the greater world, countless powerhouses and prodigies existed, yet only a handful could grasp second tier laws.
The challenge was immense.
Lin Moyu didn’t know which tier the law of undeath belonged to, but judging from its presence, it was far from weak.
Antares continued, “Comprehending a law takes time. For now, test your law art’s power. A three-star law art should be much stronger.”
“Alright.”
Back in the outside world, Antares once again became the ideal test subject.
Lin Moyu cast Bone Prison on Antares. With a flash of white light, Bone Fangs erupted and struck him.
At the same time, with a flash of white light, a layer of white, translucent armor formed around Lin Moyu.
Three-star law art: law art linkage.
Casting one law art automatically triggered the others. Compared to manually activating Bone Armor, this was far more convenient.
Still, Lin Moyu retained control; he could disable the linkage if he wished.
Sensing the impact, Antares nodded, “Not bad. The power has definitely improved. This attack is roughly at level 93 now.”
Previously, the skill could instantly kill targets below level 90 and threaten those at level 90 or above.
But it struggled against enemies at level 93 and above.
Now, it could handle them. The increase wasn’t minor; it had risen by an order of magnitude, at least tenfold.
The improvement far exceeded Lin Moyu’s expectations.
Satisfied, he said, “Try attacking me.”
Without hesitation, Antares unleashed a breath attack infused with the law of fire.
With the law of fire, the damage to Lin Moyu would be minimal, making it perfect for testing.
Bone Armor flared to life, shining brightly.
A trace of law aura emerged, instantly locking onto Antares.
In the next moment, Bone Prison formed around him, followed by an eruption of Bone Fangs.
Lin Moyu hadn’t made a move. Everything had triggered automatically.
Both he and Antares were stunned.
Antares repeated the attack several times in disbelief, but the result never changed.
Any strike against Lin Moyu activated Bone Armor, which in turn triggered the three-star linkage.
Bone Prison and Bone Fangs retaliated instantly.
The strength of the counterattack depended on the strength of the incoming force.
The stronger the attack, the stronger the response.
“Good grief, you’ve turned into a hedgehog.” Antares exclaimed in astonishment.
Lin Moyu had become untouchable. Any attempt to harm him would provoke immediate retaliation.
Also astonished, Lin Moyu said, “So three-star law arts can work like this… But how strong is Bone Armor’s defense? Come on, try harder. Don’t make me look down on you.”
Antares let out a snort, “Just you wait.”
He abandoned elemental attacks and shifted to raw physical power, forming a massive hand that slammed down on Lin Moyu.
The Bone Armor shimmered, blocking the strike and instantly launching a counterattack.
Antares paid it no mind, continuing to increase the force of his blows.
Lin Moyu soon realized that each counterattack of the Bone Armor triggered the three-star law art linkage, refreshing itself.
As a result, the Bone Armor could remain at peak condition almost indefinitely, resisting even relentless assaults.
However, this came at a cost. Every counterattack drained a significant amount of spirit force, scaling with the force of the blow.
Fortunately, Lin Moyu’s Comprehensive Link talent ensured he had little to fear in that regard.
Individually, his talent and law arts were already formidable.
But together, they formed a near-perfect, self-sustaining system.
With a faint crack, the Bone Armor finally shattered.
Lin Moyu asked, “Well?”
Antares replied, “It took strength equivalent to level 96 to break it.”
The Bone Armor’s defensive limit depended on soul rank, but the three-star law art had pushed that threshold from level 94 to level 95.
In other words, it could fully withstand a level 95 attack without taking any damage.
Now that the test was over, Lin Moyu had a clear idea of where he stood.
“Thank you.” He said sincerely.
Antares shook his head, “No need for thanks between us. That would make us strangers.”
Lin Moyu chuckled, “I’ll be relying on you a lot more from here on.”
More than a dozen skill star cores still waited to be moved into his skill space, along with many skills that required Antares’s help to test.
He even needed Antares to kill him.
Without Antares, creating law art stars would have been impossible. Half the credit belonged to him.
Antares laughed, “I’m curious to see just how powerful a monster filled with law art stars can become.”
Lin Moyu nodded, “You will.”
…
In the Dragonkind World, the Dragon Emperor’s rage had subsided.
The emperor city was expanding, while tens of millions of Dragonkind remained gathered outside its walls.
Though Lin Moyu’s slaughter had barely dented their numbers, it had utterly crushed the pride of the Dragonkind.
Unlike the Abyss Demons, the Dragonkind weren’t well-informed. They had no idea that only days earlier, Lin Moyu had ravaged multiple Demon king cities.
The Demons were forced to scatter across the Abyss to avoid further losses.
“The Ancestral Dragon Blood Pool is open. All Dragon Kings, enter!”
At the Dragon Emperor’s command, a pillar of blood erupted skyward from the heart of the emperor city.
A thick smell of blood spread in all directions.
Roars echoed endlessly as countless phantom Dragons bellowed within the towering pillar of blood.
