Necromancer: I Am A Disaster
Chapter 757: I’m Afraid It Might Drive Him To Desperation
Lin Moyu did not stop the Dragon Emperor.
When the Dragon Emperor spoke earlier, Antares only responded after a brief pause.
In those few seconds, he had consulted Lin Moyu.
The decision had not been made by Antares alone.
To the human race, the Dragon Emperor was undoubtedly their greatest enemy. Yet as the Dragon Emperor, he rarely acted personally.
When the Dragonkind first descended, they posed an overwhelming threat to humanity.
At that time, their strength far surpassed that of the humans, even exceeding that of the Abyss Demons.
They launched repeated attacks against the Human World, massacring humans and leaving rivers of blood.
Tens of millions perished beneath their blades.
Later, under the leadership of Demon Emperor Lilian, the Abyss Demons and the human race formed a secret alliance.
The humans focused on containing the Dragonkind within the Dimensional Battlefield, while the Abyss Demons struck directly at the Dragonkind World.
Despite their strength, the Dragonkind could not withstand the combined might of the two races.
They were thrown into disarray, eventually losing all spatial channels connected to the Dimensional Battlefield.
Over the following thousand years, the hatred between the Dragonkind and the humans gradually lessened.
Conflicts were mostly limited to small-scale clashes in the Immemorial Battlefield, with victories and losses on both sides.
During this time, the Dragon Emperor, positioned high above, rarely intervened.
While he was not like Lilian, who had never killed a human, he had shed comparatively little blood himself.
Lin Moyu understood this well. So when Antares sought his opinion, he chose to respect his decision.
Antares’s voice sounded slowly, “Even waste can be put to some use.”
The deep layer contained many deadly regions. Even for a half-step Transcendent God like the Dragon Emperor, entering such places meant near-certain death—especially the destination Antares had in mind.
Antares knew there was little chance the Dragon Emperor would ever return.
Lin Moyu nodded, “If he had been determined to escape, I wouldn’t have been able to stop him. Worse, pushing him too far might have driven him to desperation. This outcome is good.”
His concern was valid.
If the Dragon Emperor chose to flee, Lin Moyu had no means to restrain him.
Worse still, without the burden of the Dragonkind, the Dragon Emperor could hide within the Dimensional Battlefield and ambush human class users.
That would put humanity in a dangerously vulnerable position.
At present, no one in the human race, aside from Lin Moyu himself, could contend with the Dragon Emperor.
Even Antares could not interfere with the Dragon Emperor’s actions in the Dimensional Battlefield.
He had his principles and certain limitations Lin Moyu did not fully understand.
His bottom line was to protect the Human World; the Dimensional Battlefield lay beyond his scope.
If things reached that point, Lin Moyu would face an enormous problem.
Given all this, the current outcome was the best possible one.
Lin Moyu chuckled softly, “This guy is truly foolish. Every choice he makes is the wrong one.”
Antares scoffed, “A mongrel Dragon… how intelligent could he be?”
Within the emperor city, the remaining Dragonkind watched their emperor abandon them without hesitation.
Despair spread rapidly through the Dragonkind, crushing any remaining hope.
Who could have imagined that after a thousand years of recovery, it would end like this?
All because of one human.
In their eyes, Lin Moyu was no longer human but a devil, a terrifying devil from the deepest pits of hell.
Slaughtering tens of millions of Dragonkind without batting an eye… if that wasn’t a devil, what was?
“You’re a devil!”
“The Dragonkind will never forgive you!”
Three high-tier Dragon Kings roared as they surged forward, their laws erupting as they charged out of the emperor city. This was their final stand.
Lin Moyu ignored them. With a casual tap of his finger, he unleashed Godslaying Lightning.
Against high-tier Dragon Kings, it remained the most effective method.
These three Dragon Kings were the strongest forces among the Dragonkind aside from the Dragon Emperor.
Unfortunately, they all specialized in elemental laws.
After breaking through the Bone Armor, they failed to inflict even the slightest harm.
At that moment, the three-star law art’s linkage activated once more. Bone Prisons materialized instantly, trapping the three Dragon Kings midair. Bone Fangs followed without delay.
The three-star law art did not require Lin Moyu’s active control. It could be triggered automatically, making it exceptionally useful.
Under the Bone Prisons’ restraint, the three high-tier Dragon Kings froze in place, completely immobilized.
White bones erupted across their bodies, locking them in place and inducing paralysis.
The Bone Prisons were not strong. At best, they could restrain them for a second or two.
Bone Fangs detonated across their bodies, shattering scales and drawing blood, leaving them in a pitiful state.
Yet the damage remained superficial. Powerful as the law art was, its true strength was limited by Lin Moyu himself, by his level and soul rank.
Then came thunderous roars. Godslaying Lightning struck in rapid succession.
Three bolts burst midair, expanding into a raging sea of purple lightning that engulfed the three high-tier Dragon Kings.
There was no suspense. Under the overwhelming force, they were reduced to charred corpses and fell from the sky.
Despair swept through the Dragonkind within the emperor city. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Some escaped using teleportation tools, but most fled in all directions.
The army of ten million Dragonkind was utterly routed.
Their numbers were simply too vast. Despite commanding 300,000 undead troops and 1,300 Bone Dragons, Lin Moyu could not kill them all.
Among them, the Elemental Liches’ three rings of light played a huge role.
Countless Dragonkind perished under the Law Rings.
After this battle, the Dragonkind would be thoroughly crushed and no longer a threat.
With the Dragonkind defeated and Lilian’s cooperation secured, the human race’s position would be fully secured.
The rest could be handled step by step, barring unforeseen complications.
The slaughter continued.
The Undead Eye swept over the battlefield, overlooking the entire emperor city.
Corpses piled into mountains, a scene beyond imagination.
Lin Moyu released countless flames that burst like fireworks before raining down upon the corpses.
The corpse rose again amid the flames and turned into resurrected, stronger than they had been in life.
These Dragonkind resurrected turned their blades against their own kind, driving the remaining Dragonkind into deeper despair.
Lin Moyu continued casting his skill, and the number of resurrected increased continuously.
The Dragonkind dwindled with every clash, while Lin Moyu’s force only swelled.
White light surged around him once more. Lin Moyu leveled up, reaching level 85.
In just one day, he had gained two levels. His soul force surged violently, nearly overflowing.
But upon reaching level 85, his leveling slowed abruptly.
The required EXP and soul force increased dramatically, multiplying severalfold.
Typically, leveling slowed significantly every five levels.
But level 85 was different. The rate had dropped by at least four times.
Lin Moyu sensed that his soul had doubled in strength.
With that growth came a greater demand for soul force, inevitably slowing his leveling.
“It seems going from level 85 to level 86 is indeed quite difficult…”
Only now did he understand why so many remained stuck at this threshold for so long.
When the requirements surged while the rate of gain remained unchanged, slower leveling was inevitable.
The leap at this stage was so vast it could crush one’s resolve, eroding both hope and momentum.
In a sense, this served as a minor trial.
