Chapter 1396: Ruler Of Space (Part 1)

There was a massive difference in the flow of time between the memories inside the soul seal and the real world.

From Evan’s perspective, he had spent nearly an hour viewing the memories contained within the soul seal.

But in reality, barely a single minute had passed.

However, during that one minute, many things had already happened.

Because Evan’s consciousness had sunk completely into the memories of the soul seal, his body remained motionless in the real world, standing in the same place like a statue.

Meanwhile, the battle between Baphomet and Elora continued to ravage everything in its path.

Even though the demon monarch tried his best to minimize the destruction, the entire area as far as the eye could see had already been destroyed by Elora’s power of the END.

Pitch-black darkness spread endlessly across the battlefield.

A darkness where absolutely nothing existed.

No void space. No laws. No rules of the world.

Everything had vanished completely, leaving behind only patches of darkness filled with nothingness.

In fact, under Elora’s power of the END, even the nothingness itself was gradually fading away.

In a sense, the areas destroyed by Elora were rapidly disappearing from existence itself, causing the overall size of Utopia to slowly shrink.

It was as though those regions had never existed from the very beginning.

The most terrifying aspect of the power of the END was that it could even influence the minds of living beings.

At this moment, every person who had once lived in, traveled through, or even visited the regions destroyed by Elora gradually began forgetting about those places.

This was because, under the influence of the END, those areas were not merely erased from the present, they were erased from the past as well.

They simply never existed.

And if something had never existed, then how could anyone possibly remember it?

Of course, existences like Baphomet, the other rank-six core evolvers, and some especially powerful rank-five core evolvers could resist this influence of the END.

But that only made the ability even more terrifying because anyone below rank five was completely incapable of resisting it.

Baphomet could clearly feel a strange force attempting to influence his mind, trying to make him ignore the vast regions destroyed by Elora and believe that those areas had never existed in the first place.

Although he easily resisted the influence, it still caused fear to rise in the demon monarch’s heart because this was the first time in his life he had encountered such an absurd power.

’And all of this power was sealed inside a mere weapon.’

As this thought crossed his mind, Baphomet could not help but begin questioning his own strength.

Previously, after hearing the legends surrounding the Shadow Monarch and personally experiencing some of his power inside the Tomb of the Ancient, Baphomet had known there was a gap between them.

But he had never imagined that the gap could be this enormous.

’Just the spirit of one of that man’s weapons is already this terrifying. Then just how powerful must he have been in his prime?’

For a brief moment, a deep longing emerged from the depths of Baphomet’s heart.

As someone who had grown up among demons, a race where power determined everything, his desire for strength had always been incredibly intense.

Baphomet had already stood among the strongest beings in Utopia for countless years.

Yet throughout all those thousands of years, although his strength had improved somewhat, the increase was insignificant.

After reaching the peak of rank six, advancing any further within Utopia had become nearly impossible because rank six represented the absolute peak of power in this world.

But after witnessing the power displayed by Elora, as well as Evan’s own terrifying strength, where even at an immense cost, he still managed to kill Eldraker, a peak rank-six core Evolver, Baphomet suddenly felt as though a completely new door had opened before him.

Previously, he had believed he had already reached the limit of power.

He believed there was no path forward beyond this point.

But now, everything was different.

He could clearly tell that both Elora and the Shadow Monarch had surpassed the realm of ordinary rank-six core evolvers.

In fact, calling them merely "stronger" felt like a severe understatement.

Even the power currently displayed by Elora had already exceeded the limits of a normal peak rank-six core evolver.

And the most terrifying part was that Baphomet could still feel her power continuously increasing with every passing second.

Meaning, she still had not reached her limit.

Feeling Elora’s rapidly rising strength and comparing it to his own power, which had stagnated long ago, an absurd thought suddenly emerged in Baphomet’s heart.

’But is something like this truly possible?’

Baphomet thought as he quickly created a massive shield to block one of Elora’s attacks and minimize the destruction spreading across the surrounding territory.

Crack! Crack! Crack! —

The instant the shield received a single hit, countless cracks spread across its surface.

Baphomet himself was blasted thousands of kilometers away from the impact.

In the next instant, Elora appeared directly before him, and her dragon-like tail swept toward him with devastating force.

Even a casual swing of her tail was enough to affect vast portions of Utopia itself.

Baphomet did not dare underestimate her attack in the slightest and could only dodge once again.

It was not that he lacked the ability to directly clash against her attacks using his own strength.

The real problem was that if he did so, the shockwaves produced by the collision would create even greater destruction across the territory.

Baphomet was fighting to stop Elora from completely destroying the lands under his rule, which meant he could not fight as freely as she could.

’The destruction this creature is causing is far too great. It won’t be long before the other rank-six core evolvers arrive here to stop her.’

Once the other rank-six core evolvers arrived and helped suppress the shockwaves created by the battle, Baphomet would finally be able to fight without restraint.

And with five or six rank-six core evolvers working together, suppressing Elora would not be impossible.

Just as Baphomet was thinking this, he suddenly sensed several powerful auras rapidly approaching his location.

And among those approaching presences, he could clearly feel two auras that were in no way weaker than his own.

’They are finally here.’
