Chapter 323: I DON’T SELL THE DRESSES OF INNOCENT GIRLS

"Who are you? You’re bold." The leader said, lowering his hand and rubbing the part the stone had hit which had turned a redish purple.

The male lead also scoffed in turn.

"At least I don’t go around trying to sell the dresses of innocent young girls for money!"

The leader looked speechless for a second.

"Aren’t you ashamed?" The boy continued to ask. Then he looked at the girl and said. "Let her go."

"Or what?" One of the boys asked, but the leader waved his hand.

"Eh, boss!" The boy turned to the leader with surprise.

The leader turned to Carolyn. "Go." There really was no need. If he took away her dress to sell, not only him and his gang, but others in the slums could face the consequences.

Carolyn snapped back to her senses. She quickly left their midst, almost falling on her savior.

Aristia was speechless. So the scene that had played out and the action taken by the male lead was similar to what she had done?

But unlike when Aristia had almost dodged to the side, the boy caught her.

The both of them left the alley.

"Thank you for helping me." Carolyn said, bowing in gratitude.

The male lead obviously wanted to say something blunt, but her eyes as she stared at him were so bright and happy that he forgot the words he wanted to say.

"Be careful next time." He said instead.

Carolyn nodded quickly. She would.

By the time she looked back at the boy, the place he stood at was empty.

"Huh? Where did he go?" She muttered, surprised. She looked around, but there was no trace of him. "I don’t even know his name." She mumbled.

But now that she was alone, she hastened to leave the alley and the slums.

Just then, Carolyn saw a little girl waddling up to her.

Just as the gang leader and his gang we’re leaving the alley, he met the scene of Carolyn patting his sister’s head as she promised to buy her something.

[Oh, so Moira’s his sister.]

His sister’s eyes were shining brightly as she nodded and gripped Carolyn’s clothes.

Carolyn didn’t mind. She waved her goodbye and left, unaware of Moira’s brother watching from behind.

The dream ended there.

Aristia’s eyes opened.

[So, I could have gotten that boy and his gang to let her go by scolding himinstead of sacrificing my candy?! But since he’s Moira’s brother, I’m sure he’ll give the sweets to her.]

Then she thought of something.

[Could it be that Moira’s brother is also a male lead? Even though he had tried to rob her, he would later come to like her. It makes sense. And even though I didn’t get to see the other boy’s face, I’m sure I don’t know him.] She mulled over this.

But her eyes widened.

[But Carolyn didn’t have the chance of meeting him! And she didn’t meet Moira either!]

Because she had saved Carolyn, the male lead didn’t get the chance to do anything. She didn’t know if he could fall in love from afar.

And since she had dragged Carolyn far away from the alley’s surrounding while running away from the boys, Carolyn hadn’t met Moira for the gang leader to see.

[But we left her behind so I don’t know what happened next. Maybe the plot put things in order and somehow, she still met the male leads. Huu~ Trying to figure out what will happen is tiring.] She thought.

Seeing that the sky wasn’t bright yet, she closed her eyes and fell asleep once more. This time, there were no dreams.

The next time she woke up, it was already morning.

She got ready for the training with Captain Hugh and headed straight for the training grounds.

There, she met the others.

Captain Hugh arrived not long after.

However, before he could begin, they spotted a figure coming toward them.

There was a new person joining in for the training.

Captain Hugh was already aware of the arrangement. He glanced at the girl who would begin training starting from today.

"Greetings Sir Hugh Lancelot." Vivian Quentin greeted.

Hugh nodded and spoke a few words before beginning the training.

He almost couldn’t understand how he had gone from training a girl to training her whole squad. He didn’t even understand why there were now many different children living in the mansion of the Grand Duke.

Well, some of it was understandable. The twin girls were daughters of Count and Countess Cedmond so it made sense that they lived with their parents now that they had been found.

Owen was an intelligent boy, and Kai could use magic. The Grand Duke probably was raising these talents.

But as for Vivian Quentin... Was it really necessary for her to join the training because she was Aristia’s playmate?

But he wasn’t against it. He was just curious.

After the training, Aristia and Vivian attended their history class with Vasily.

"Princess." Vasily curtsied lightly.

"Aunt Vasily," Aristia responded.

"Greetings, your ladyship." Vivian greeted with a curtsey.

"Vivian Quentin." Vasily nodded with a small smile.

Aristia and Vivian took their seats.

Vasily opened the textbook on the desk before turning to the two. She had been tutoring Vivian alongside Aristia ever since it was announced that Aristia was Vivian’s playmate.

But she was aware of the real reason why. It was because Aristia wanted Vivian to work for her. She didn’t know what exactly the third daughter of Count Quentin could do for Aristia, but Aristia had said it was similar to what Owen did.

She didn’t ask further.

"Princess Aristia is quite a bit ahead in her lessons. I asked you earlier if you could keep up with our studies and you said that you could. Where have you covered?" Vasily asked.

The question was directed to Vivian.

Vasily Hemsworth was not Vivian’s previous tutor. She mostly tutored children from pure nobility, but she also had students from minor nobility. But she only taught within the capital.

She had spoken with Vivian’s previous tutor and found out about Vivian’s academic potential. From what she heard, Vivian was intelligent, and she had indeed confirmed that fact in their classes.

But whether Vivian could keep up with Aristia’s current position in the curriculum was still another thing. After all, Aristia was now ahead in the curriculum.

She couldn’t return to the earlier classes.

But Vivian had nodded, saying that she could keep up. So, Vasily asked her to keep studying from where the last tutor had left off privately. Then, when she came for the class, she would use a few minutes to explain it.

Vivian had been doing that and Vasily was impressed with how fast she was learning and how easily she understood.

Vasily turned to the page Vivian was in and now got to explaining the lesson.

Once she was done a few minutes later, she moved to the main lesson.
