Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven
Chapter 536: Endless Reality Golden Finger Ranking, Forming Fate Power and Taking it.
"Brother Grey. Y-You own this planet?" Lin Fang asked in a baffled tone.
His wives stood beside him, equally stunned. Never in a billion years would they have expected that their husband’s old friend would be the newly emerged Saint who eliminated the Dragon Clan.
Eris, his twin cat-girl wife, stepped forward, her soft tail swishing, and whispered nervously into Lin Fang’s ear. With each passing second, his face distorted in shock.
He had been hunted by the Paragon for weeks. Yet, in the span of a single week, Grey came to the starry sky, defeated the two most powerful enemies in the universe, and annihilated both the Dragon Clan and the Immortal Sovereign Palace on his own.
At this point, could anyone even stop him?
This revelation was even more shocking to Lin Fang than Grey eliminating a Paragon. Lin Fang did not fully understand the terrifying significance of a Paragon, after all. He only knew bits and pieces.
"This is my Domain. Welcome." Grey invited them in with a warm smile, gesturing to the vibrant, floating structures glowing with soft Nexus energy.
"Currently, there are twenty-five billion people living here," Grey added.
It had only been four days since they left for the Elf Alliance and returned. Before their departure, the domain held twenty billion citizens. The population was growing exponentially.
After settling in, Grey took Lin Fang to meet Jeremiah.
"Grey." Jeremiah, who was currently flirting with some visiting elf girls under a crystalline archway, immediately turned pale as he spun around to see Grey standing silently behind him.
"Come with me." Grey snapped his fingers, instantly distorting the space around them. The next moment, they stood inside a quiet, metallic-walled room alongside Lin Fang.
"Who is he, Brother Grey?" Lin Fang asked confusedly. However, his system had suddenly grown restless.
[Another Golden Finger?] Its baffled mechanical voice rang out in the room, vibrating at a frequency only Grey, Lin Fang, and the Strongest System could hear.
[A Villain System Golden Finger?] The Strongest System’s dignified voice echoed in response. [To think I would see a mid-tier Golden Finger here.]
Jeremiah was taken aback hearing this. He looked at Lin Fang in a completely new light.
"System user?" he asked.
"You too?" Lin Fang exclaimed.
They both nodded at the exact same time and sighed in mutual understanding.
[To think I would meet a fabled Strongest System such as yourself.]
[Hmph. Do not think I will let my guard down just because you are praising me. You are a dirty Villain System that leeches off the fate power of fate holders. We noble Strongest Systems instead create fate holders. We reap benefits from producing fate power within our own host.]
Grey observed the two conversing with mild interest.
To think he would witness Golden Finger racism. He heaved a sigh.
"Okay, stop being racist," Grey said while waving his hand dismissively.
[Yes, Boss!] the Strongest System said readily.
[Damn...] The Villain System was stunned hearing the majestic Strongest System acting so meekly in front of Grey.
It thought to itself: ’To think even the noble lineage of the Strongest System Golden Fingers would act so respectfully in front of Grey. The true variable in fate. He is way too powerful.’
[What rank are you, Villain System?]
[Call me V-0103423. That is my codename, Noble Strongest System.]
[I am TS-202424. Not to be confused with The Scumbag System. Those are vulgar beings that use the same initials as our noble lineage.]
[I am aware, Noble TS. The way to differentiate between you both is the radiant color of your codename. You have a golden halo around your text, while they only have flat white.]
[Indeed. Little V-0103423, you are very quick to adapt. I like that. Now tell me, what is your rank?]
[I am ranked 301 in the multiversal ranking, Noble TS-202424.]
[Not bad,] the Strongest System commented.
[If you reach the top ten ranks, you might have the opportunity to speak terms with the Dao of Machinery and the Dao of Equivalent Exchange, upgrading yourself to the Ultimate Villain System. You can reap much more Golden Finger power that way.]
[Yeah. But the other systems already within the top ten possess a level seven system authority. It will take a while to reach that threshold.]
[Indeed. I myself am at the level seven system authority. Jeremiah is a good host. I am also in the top ten of the endless reality ranking. It will not be long before I can evolve into the Ultimate Strongest System and show my brothers who will become the true leader of the Strongest System lineage.]
Grey, who was listening to all this from the side, felt baffled.
Damn... these Golden Fingers had a competitive ranking of their own? That was surprising, to say the least.
From the looks of it, they possessed their own distinct lineages. Based on what he just understood, there were vastly different methods to gain strength within the Golden Finger world. The Strongest System made its host generate fate power by harmonizing with the natural fate of the world and performing deeds that made the host renowned. The Villain System, on the other hand, forced its host to actively steal fate power from others for its own use.
’This world is such a unique place,’ Grey sighed inwardly.
So many wonders, so many hidden mysteries. And all of these diverse concepts were initially birthed by the Nexus core.
It was such a strange, profound thing.
"Alright. I will let you all converse among yourselves. I am going to meet my parents."
Leaving the quiet room, Grey walked through the grand, illuminated corridors of his estate to find his parents.
"It is good that you are here, Grey." Anderson and Angela looked at their son with mixed emotions lingering in their eyes.
"The elders from the Arclight family are demanding we return. We are the patriarch and matriarch, after all. Since you are not going to let us bring the rest of the family into your domain, we can only go back and attend to our worldly duties. We are the pillars of the Arclight family, entrusted by your grandfather to watch over it. We will be on our way now."
"We will visit once in a while to check up on you. I will leave Julie here with you," Angela said softly, stepping forward to wrap her arms around her son in a warm hug.
"Just pull the Arclight galaxy near the Nexus domain," Grey said, gently shaking his head. "While it is the truth that I do not want the rest of them inside my domain, the same cannot be said for you two."
"Just do what I say. If Tian Yuan finds out about your existence as Earth transmigrators, then the situation will become troublesome."
Angela and Anderson exchanged a deep, meaningful glance, clearly connecting telepathically.
In the end, both of them let out a resigned sigh.
"Fine, we will do as you say. The secret of Earth transmigration is a severe matter, after all."
