Mrs. Diana immediately snorted sharply. "But the fact is, you’ve already hurt him, you bastard!"

The atmosphere in front of the restaurant instantly grew even more awkward. Several patrons began staring openly. Some even quietly pulled out their phones, as if they recognized Sean’s face.

But the man remained silent. He wasn’t angry. Nor did he defend himself. Because Sean knew he truly had no answer.

Clara quickly and gently grabbed her mother’s arm. "Mom, enough..."

"No, Clara!" Mrs. Diana turned sharply, her eyes red with emotion. "I’ve stayed silent for far too long while watching this man toy with your life!"

Sean slowly lowered his head. And unfortunately... Every word from Clara’s mother felt like something he deserved.

"Do you know how Clara has lived in her marriage all these years?" Mrs. Diana continued sharply. "She couldn’t sleep for months! She cried in secret so I wouldn’t worry!"

Clara immediately closed her eyes in shame. "Mom, enough..."

"NO!" Mrs. Diana snapped again. "She has to hear this!"

The woman’s gaze pierced Sean once more.

"While my daughter was in love with you, you were busy flaunting your relationship with your mistress everywhere! You even got that mistress named Moana pregnant!"

Sean’s breath felt heavy. He knew it was all true. He even remembered how he used to beat Clara whenever he was angry.

And back then, every time Moana called? He’d always leave without a second thought.

And now, karma felt like it was choking him.

"I’m sorry," he said softly.

Mrs. Diana immediately laughed sarcastically.

"Sorry?" The woman shook her head in disbelief. "What kind of regret comes after it’s all too late?"

Sean fell silent again. Because once again... he couldn’t argue.

Clara finally took a small step forward. Her gaze looked weary as she looked at Sean.

"Go home," she said softly.

Just two simple words. Yet they sounded like an immense distance.

Sean stared at Clara for a long time.

She seemed much calmer now than when she was still his wife. And that was what hurt the most.

Because Sean realized... Clara had healed after leaving him. She’d moved on quickly.

Mrs. Diana spoke coldly again, "If you have even a shred of conscience left, stop bothering my daughter."

Sean slowly clenched his fists. He wanted to say he couldn’t. He couldn’t stop thinking about Clara. He also couldn’t stop looking for her.

But all of that would sound crazy now. Because he had already started to go crazy.

And Sean finally realized something terrifying. Back then, Clara was obsessed with protecting herself. Now... he was the one becoming obsessed with Clara.

Meanwhile, as Clara slowly walked away from Sean, Sean stood frozen in place, looking dazed.

---

After Mrs. Diana and Clara went back inside the restaurant, Sean was still standing motionless by the roadside. His driver didn’t even dare to speak. The man just stared blankly at the restaurant’s window.

From outside, he could see Clara sitting back down with her mother.

Mrs. Diana still looked angry as she said something. Meanwhile, Clara just sat silently with her head bowed.

The sight made Sean’s chest feel incredibly tight. Because once upon a time... he was part of that family. Part of the warmth they created.

And now, he was just a hated stranger.

Sean let out a small, ironic laugh as he rubbed his rough face.

"Damn..."

Now, he felt completely alone.

★★★

That night, Sean finally pulled up in the driveway of the Weasley family mansion.

The sky was already dark. The lights of the big house were shining brightly, but for some reason the atmosphere felt much colder than usual.

Sean had just stepped inside when the sound of shattering glass came from the living room.

CRASH!

"YOU’RE FINALLY HOME!"

Sean looked up.

Mr. Weasley stood in the middle of the living room, his face red with anger. Several sheets of paper were scattered on the glass coffee table in front of the sofa. Meanwhile, Mrs. Weasley sat tensely, clutching her cell phone.

Both of their expressions were terrible.

Absolutely terrible.

Sean immediately frowned. "What’s wrong now?"

"You still have the nerve to ask?" Mr. Weasley snapped harshly.

The old man immediately flung several sheets of paper at Sean, sending them scattering across the floor.

Sean looked down.

Company expense reports.

And in the next instant, his face turned cold.

Hawaii Resort. Luxury Suite. Private Yacht Service.

Booker’s name: Sean Weasley.

Sean’s hands clenched into fists.

"Who gave this to you?"

Mrs. Weasley laughed sarcastically, her voice full of emotion.

"That cheap woman!" she snapped. "Moana’s father just called us for nearly an hour!"

Sean immediately understood.

Mr. Freddy.

Damn it.

"He threatened to leak everything to the public," Mrs. Weasley continued, her breath trembling with anger. "Including all the transactions you’ve been hiding!"

Mr. Weasley walked closer with a sharp glare.

"You took Moana to Hawaii using company funds?!"

Sean roughly rubbed his jaw. "That can be explained."

"Explained?!" Mr. Weasley’s voice rose. "That money was supposed to be used for the third-quarter marketing project!"

Sean fell silent.

And his silence only made his father’s anger explode even more.

"You even billed the company for that woman’s treatments?!" the old man snapped again. "Spas, beauty clinics, cosmetic surgeries—have you lost your mind?!"

Mrs. Weasley immediately stood up as well.

"We built that company over decades!" she said sharply. "And you’re using it to pamper your mistress!"

Sean’s jaw tightened even more.

Because, unfortunately...

They were right.

Back when he was head over heels for Moana, Sean had indeed done all that without a second thought.

Luxury trips.

Expensive gifts.

Exclusive treatments.

And since he was the company’s main decision-maker at the time, everything could be easily covered up.

At least... until now.

Mrs. Weasley slammed her fist on the table.

"And now Freddy’s family is threatening us?!"

Sean finally spoke coldly, "They’re just bluffing."

"No!" Mr. Weasley snapped quickly. "They’re desperate now! A cornered man will do anything!"

Sean immediately recalled Mr. Freddy’s face from last night.

Panic.

Frustration.

And desperate enough to drag everyone down with him.

"He said," Mrs. Weasley continued, her voice full of emotion, "’don’t forget that Sean used to love my daughter so much.’"

That sentence immediately made the atmosphere even more tense.

Mrs. Weasley laughed bitterly, filled with anger.

"Look at the result of your crazy love now!"

Sean turned his face away for a moment.

His head was starting to ache again.

Clara.

Moana.

His family.

His company.

Everything seemed to come crashing down on him all at once, without pause.

"And what’s most shameful," Mr. Weasley continued coldly, "is that we only found out some of those expenses were incurred while Clara was still your wife."

Sean fell silent immediately.

Mrs. Weasley looked at her son with a rare expression of disappointment.

"Clara was truly too good for you."

Those words hit harder than the previous outburst.

Sean let out a hollow chuckle as he bowed his head.

Yes.

Everyone was saying the same thing now.

Too late.

It’s all too late.

Mr. Weasley walked closer until he stood right in front of Sean.

"You heard me clearly," he said in a low, menacing tone. "If this gets out to the public, the company’s stock could plummet."

Sean slowly raised his head.

"I’ll take care of it."

"With what?" his father snapped. "By stalking Clara again?!"

Sean’s body tensed instantly.

Mrs. Weasley looked shocked. "What?"

Mr. Weasley laughed bitterly.

"Oh, so you didn’t know?" he sneered at his wife. "Your favorite son is now busy following his ex-wife everywhere until Clara’s mother threatened to report him to the police."

Mrs. Weasley’s face immediately turned disbelieving.

"Sean..."

But Sean simply closed his eyes for a moment.

He truly began to look like a failure now.

His business was in shambles.

His ex-mistress was threatening him.

His family hated him.

And Clara...

Was drifting further away from him.

"Look at yourself," Mr. Weasley hissed coldly. "You’re ruining your own life for a woman like Moana."

Sean slowly opened his eyes again.

His gaze was now much darker than before.

Because for the first time...

He was beginning to realize.

Moana might indeed be poison.

But the one who was actually destroying everything was himself.

"Dad! I’m sorry. I forgot to take care of the financial matters at the office. I thought my secretary had handled everything." Sean hung his head.

"I did claim all of Moana’s treatment costs at the cosmetic clinic. Also, some of the surgery costs she incurred to get a curvy body and a perfect face. But I thought all those transactions had been neatly revised." The man sighed wearily.

"You’re such an idiot! Don’t mess around with the company’s finances! Do you think the shareholders aren’t thorough when auditing every financial report!?" Mr. Weasley screamed.

"Sean ...!You are crazy, bastard!"

"Dad, please, forgive me. I’ll make it all right as soon as possible!"

"Don’t get cocky! If Moana’s father moves faster than you, you’ll lose everything! Your business partners, foreign investors, reliable allies, major shareholders—even our family bond—will be over!" Mr. Weasley said
