Chapter 563: An Untimely End To An Enlightenment Session; Gaining The Mark Of Oceania!

Inside the Temple of Enlightenment was as silent as a graveyard as the lucky 10,000 qualified candidates tried their luck at the inheritance of the Soul Sage.

Purple tier predators could have a wildly varying amount of strength depending on their origin law comprehension, this applied to every beast in Oceania no matter what tier they were or even if they were Sea Kings.

Originally, after leveling up to the Red tier, Sebastian instantly became OP due to his numerous advantages and the opportunities that he had.

All these opportunities that he had came through unconventional ways, but he was still far from unleashing the full powers of his potential.

One fact that was very synonymous with Red tier predators was their magic fields. This was the manifestation of the specific magic domains of these predators, and it had a lot of uses like increasing magic affinity, suppressing opponents, and a lot other uses.

Sebastian first came in contact with a magic field when he had an encounter with the Jellyfish back in the Green Mist Sea.

Despite being a purple tier predator and being seen as brainless, through a fortuitous encounter, the Jellyfish’s origin law comprehension was able to develop all the way to the Red master level and was why she had a magic field.

Her strength then was a testament to her highly advanced origin law comprehension. Now that Sebastian also improved his origin law comprehension again, he met his requirements and also unlocked his law of magic fields.

The beauty of this was that he did not just unlock a magic field for his main Megalodon body, the benefit rippled to the other bodies as they also unlocked their magic fields mostly related to the sound domain.

Only the Night Rakshasha body unlocked 2 magic fields, both related to shadow domain magic and sound domain magic.

Apart from unlocking magic fields, Sebastian got the other basic benefits of increasing origin law comprehension and the most surprising benefit that he got from this was his slightly increased leveling speed.

In his quest to become the Ocean Master, this was invaluable and Sebastian deeply appreciated it. Another strong benefit that he got was in the form of his doppelgangers, Sebastian was stoked at the new possibilities.

After increasing his origin law comprehension to the Red Master level, he unlocked his previous limits of 3 living doppelgangers to 10 which was astonishing.

Now, he had the opportunity to create 7 more living doppelgangers.

On receiving so many benefits at once, Sebastian was stoked as his enthusiasm and motivation to dissect more mysteries of the Soul Sage became stronger and more fervent than ever before.

With his increased origin law comprehension, he was transported to the 6th level of the epiphany stake where the pressure from the mysteries increased again.

Once again, Sebastian had to fight off and endure the pressure from the mysteries and their increased revolving speed as he tried again with more experience this time to try tapping into the truths hidden within them.

He didn’t know how much time had passed, but he was not about to take any chances, he wanted to take advantage of this opportunity as much as possible.

With the advantage of 4 bodies, Sebastian’s advantage was still as fresh as a butterfly newly leaving its cocoon as he continued his mad run of comprehension.

Sometime later, he improved again as his body was transported by the stake to the 7th level where the pressure and speed of the mysteries increased again.

Sebastian took more time here but he soon acclimatized to the change. Before he could continue his comprehension though, his soul suddenly felt a prick like a needle was just stabbed through him as he jolted.

Sebastian did not know what happened but he tried to keep himself organized. Once he lost concentration, he was out of the epiphany stake which would bring an end to his time in the temple of enlightenment.

Inside the temple of enlightenment, Sebastian was suppressed, he did not know what was going on outside, and was why he didn’t know of his captured Atlantian body yet and now this affected him a lot.

It became countless times harder for him to keep his concentration, instantly, all the advantages that he enjoyed before were mostly lost.

He still had 3 bodies which granted him 3 times more speed than the average beast, but with his concentration struggles, he had to give more energy to stay concentrated which slashed his comprehension speed by half.

Now, Sebastian was only 1 and a half times faster than the average beast at comprehension, this reflected in his subsequent performance.

Sebastian now took a lot more time to pin down mysteries for comprehension. He already lost perception of time but Sebastian knew that he was slower than before, despite these speeds, he rose the levels steadily.

After what felt like a lifetime, Sebastian climbed to the 9th level finally. In here, the pressure became suffocating to him as he suddenly felt like he was a lone boat going against the mighty waves of a great Ocean.

He was rocked here and there as it seemed that he would capsize any moment from now, but Sebastian’s fierce determination to grow kept him going.

The harder the mysteries hit him; the harder Sebastian hit at them. From level 7 to level 9 were the realms of Red tier predators, from level 10 to 13, this was already the level of Black tier predators and was why the pressure was so strong.

Sebastian persevered so hard that at some point, he felt like his brain already turned into mashed tofu, this was when he felt something clicking in his head.

All the stars seemed to align to him as he took that last ultimate step, the epiphany stake vibrated as the 3rd candidate climbed to the 10th level.

Sebastian did it, he succeeded but this was as far as his concentration could take him as the problems of the torture of one of his doppelgangers kicked in again.

Sebastian could not hold on, he lost his concentration and was booted out of the epiphany stake, his impressive run finally came to an end.

Sebastian felt a lot of regrets as he knew that if not because of the mysterious problem that plagued him, he would have probably climbed at least one level more or even better, all the remaining levels to the 13th level.

Despite this though, he was satisfied with his growth.

After this last breakthrough, Sebastian’s most astonishing growth was his living doppelganger limit which increased to a staggering 50!
