The Forest of Woods was one of the most notorious regions in the Black Veil.

To normal beasts, this was a forbidden region as no stray beast ever strayed there and came out alive. For high-grade rural settlements and Empires though, this was the contact point with the Night assassins.

The Forest of Woods was just like any other forest. Apart from the grey color of the trees due to the primordial origin glow, the main difference between this forest and other forests was the silent and ghostly nature that it exhibited.

All year-round, the Forest of Woods was like a cemetery.

With his shadow domain magic, Sebastian took only a few minutes before he crossed hundreds of kilometers of space before arriving at his destination.

Having activated his camouflage organ already, Sebastian easily blended into the grey background and became invisible. This way, he swam closer to the massive grey forest before decisively entering inside.

After entering the forest, Sebastian was cautious as he observed his environment before taking one step at a time forward.

He was not taking such a careful approach out of fear since with his current strength, only a few predators could fight him toe to toe and come out alive.

He took such a careful approach to not spook the Night Rakshashas if he met them. He didn’t know what to expect since he only met a Night Rakshasha once, so he just tried to stay as prepared as possible in his own way.

Sebastian swam deeper inside the Forest of Woods for 4 minutes before he finally saw something apart from the grey trees that filled everywhere.

Sebastian saw an extremely tall but thin tower deep inside the forest. On seeing this, Sebastian confirmed that he was now getting really close to seeing others so he improvised to keep himself invisible.

Once Sebastian turned invisible, he became even more unbridled as he approached the tower confidently. On getting close, this was when he saw the massive structure underneath the tower.

[You have activated killer move: Elite Assassin Sense!]

By merging his combined super sensing with his shadow sensing, Sebastian created his 3rd killer move a few weeks ago which was related to scouting.

Once he activated the killer move, he saw everything inside the tower, not only that but everything that was inside the massive structure underneath the tower. From what he saw, this was the contact point of the assassins.

The structure underneath the tower was a place for the employers to place their requests as dozens of employers were inside at this moment.

Each of the employers was separated, and they took countermeasures to protect their identity by wearing magic hoods to hide their aura, physique, and race.

While the structure underneath the tower was the place for assassination requests to be made by the employers, the tower itself seemed to be a magic gadget as Sebastian saw a complicated series of processes going on inside it.

Sebastian was no magic craftsman so he didn’t understand the complicated series of processes going on, but as a scientist himself though in another field, he was able to infer some truths from the mechanisms in play.

The work of this tower seemed to be an intermediary. Its work seemed to be to process the assassination requests, and remove irrelevant ones before presenting the relevant ones to the assassins for further decision making to be made.

What made Sebastian pay attention to it was the faint feeling that he had.

For the kind of intermediary that this tower was, he guessed that the receiver of the requests was not far from here.

And from the subtle shadow magic fluctuations that he felt, Sebastian’s intuition grew strong that his targets were close by.

Sebastian analyzed silently for a few more minutes before he swam to the back of the tower. He searched for 5 minutes before he found the clue that he was looking for, he found a Shadow Border.

Sebastian did not hesitate to activate this skill as with a puff sound, he was sucked inside the Shadow Express where he saw only one road with the same shadowy grey color as that of the Black Veil.

Sebastian followed the shadow express road and less than a second later, he opened his eyes to befall a world that was directly behind the tiny tower.

"Holy Sh*t!"

Sebastian almost pissed his pants as he almost revealed his presence. A Night Rakshasha that was swimming across almost collided with him, it took his fast instincts to dodge fast enough to prevent colliding against this fellow.

After saving his ass, he finally focused on this world.

Sebastian was wowed by what he saw. Directly behind the tower was a massive shadow world like his Shadow Realm that was constructed by the Night Rakshashas. There were easily over a hundred Night Rakshashas here.

The Night Rakshashas were all busy. Some were busy on the computer as they processed the assassination requests, while others were on standby as they received instructions from their superiors to embark on assassination missions.

From Sebastian’s observations, he could easily deduce that this was not the headquarters of the Night Rakshashas but this was a massive hub of activity.

After observing for a few more minutes, Sebastian started navigating his way around this massive shadow construction as he sought the information that he wanted, he wanted information about the Night Rakshasha headquarters.

He continued like this patiently for over 20 minutes before he heard what he wanted as his ears stood like antennas all of a sudden. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"The weekly report is out".

"I need 10 assassins who will take it to the headquarters!"

"Aye boss!"

As the 2nd in command to the leader of this base went to prepare the 10 needed assassins that would go for this mission, a whirlwind of thoughts revolved in Sebastian’s head as he rapidly came to a decision.

He followed the 2nd in command to the elite barracks of this assassin base where all the elite assassins waited for their respective missions.

Once he entered, the 2nd in command set his eyes on a random group, and instantly, Sebastian reacted by swimming close to them.

"You, you, you..."

[You have activated magic gadget’s active skill: Illusion Reality!]

"You, you..., and you, come with me!"

"Aye Master Snitch!"

The 10 Night Rakshashas that were pointed at by Master Snitch stood up and swam after him. Unknowingly to them, an unfamiliar Night Rakshasha made up the 10th member of this group.

Sebastian entered the pointing range of the 2nd in command, but knowing that a foreign Night Rakshasha suddenly appearing would be detrimental, he used the Orb of Illusion to give them a fake illusion.

To the Night Rakshashas, Sebastian was a long-time brother of theirs.

This was how Sebastian smoothly infiltrated this assassin base of the Night Rakshashas. Night Rakshashas were master infiltrators, Sebastian already learned a thing or two from them and now he put it to work.

Once the 10 were gathered, they were addressed by the leader of this assassin base before they were sent out on their mission.

Sebastian left with the 9 Night Rakshashas.
