[RANKINGS WILL UPDATE AFTER MAJOR EVENTS ARE COMPLETED]

King studied the numbers, noting the shift.

Cain had taken a massive leap forward. TheEx-military player had jumped from third place to second on both lists, even overtaking Pantheon on the power scale.

"That menace," King muttered.

Whatever Cain had done during the First Woe, it had been significant enough to boost him past one of the most mysterious players in the game. King wondered what kind of rewards the man had earned. A legendary armament? A rare class unlock? Maybe Cain also had a powerful sponsor backing him.

King dismissed the thought with a swipe of his hand, closing the interface.

"I just hope he doesn’t become a problem."

He turned to Eli and Vi, who were waiting nearby. The child stood between them, still silent, still clinging to Vi’s clothing.

"It should be calmer now," King said. "Let’s return to base."

Eli nodded without hesitation.

Vi placed the child down, stepped forward and gently took the girl’s hand.

"Come on," Vi said softly. "We’re going somewhere safe."

The child looked up at her but didn’t resist. She allowed Vi to guide her forward, though her steps were hesitant and slow.

They began the journey back.

The landscape had changed completely. Some of the roads that once connected cities now terminated at sheer cliffs or disappeared into newly formed ravines. Forests had sprouted where suburban neighborhoods used to stand. Rivers cut through terrain that had been dry land hours ago.

King led the way, navigating by memory and the map interface, adjusting their route whenever the terrain forced them to detour. Eli walked beside him, the Spirit Eagle circling overhead to scout for threats. Vi followed behind with the child, keeping pace, and when the child showed signs of tiredness, King carried her on his back and continued the journey.

The journey took hours.

The sun had shifted across the sky by the time they reached the outskirts of what used to be King’s estate. The mansion grounds stretched before them, but the ruins of the mansion itself was gone.

The entire structure had been erased during the topography shift.

King stopped at the edge of the property, surveying the damage.

Eli approached, standing beside him.

"The estate..." Eli said quietly.

"Yeah," King replied. "It’s all different now."

He opened his interface and checked the territory claim. The land was still marked as his, the borders intact, but the buildings in it hadn’t been preserved by the system.

King closed the interface and raised both hands.

Blue energy spiraled around his fingers, brighter and more controlled than before. His Mage class had jumped to D rank, and the difference was immediate. The construct creation spell responded faster, the structures were more stable, and the designs could become more complex.

He focused, channeling mana into the spell.

A large construct seal appeared in the air at the center of the empty land. The seal expanded, releasing streams of translucent energy that descended to the ground and began forming shapes.

Walls.

Floors.

Ceilings.

The structure took shape piece by piece, solidifying into a basic bunker. It wasn’t exceptional, nothing compared to the mansion that had stood here before, but it was functional. Four rooms, a central common area, reinforced walls, and a single entrance that could be sealed with a barrier.

Something temporary.

King lowered his hands, and the construct stabilized, locking into place.

"It’ll do for now," he said. "Once I can access the system’s building options, I’ll purchase a proper base."

Eli nodded, already moving toward the entrance to inspect the interior.

Vi approached, still holding the child’s hand.

"You built that?" she asked, staring at the structure.

"Yeah," King said. "It’s just magic. Nothing permanent."

Vi shook her head, clearly impressed by the sight of it.

King then gestured toward the entrance.

"Let’s get inside. We all need rest."

They entered the bunker.

The interior was sparse but clean. Four small rooms branched off from the central area, each one containing a basic bed construct and nothing else.

Eli entered one of the rooms exhaustingly, setting down his rifle and collapsing onto the bed without a word.

Vi guided the child into another room, sitting on the edge of the bed and pulling the girl close. The child leaned against her, finally closing her eyes.

King remained in the common area, leaning against the wall and opening his interface.

He checked his details, reviewing the changes and the class upgrades.

The dual-class system had integrated seamlessly. The new skill had appeared, and his balanced stat distribution had just become more useful.

King was about to close the interface when a new notification appeared.

DING.

[GLOBAL UPDATE: CLASS RANKING SYSTEM NOW AVAILABLE.]

King opened the notification, and a detailed explanation materialized on the screen.

________________________________________________________________________________________

[CLASS RANKING SYSTEM]

All classes can now be ranked up using God Runes, a rare currency obtained through high-level quests, boss kills, and limited patron sponsorships.

Ranking Tiers:

- E Rank (Base)

- D Rank

- C Rank

- B Rank

- A Rank

- S Rank

- SS Rank

- SSS Rank

- Ex Rank

Modifiers:

- + (Plus): Enhanced tier within the same rank

- ++ (Double Plus): Maximum enhancement within the same rank

God Runes Required:

From - E to E+: 500 God Runes, subsequent rank-ups require an addition of 500 God Runes.

Higher ranks require exponentially more God Runes.

Note: SSS and Ex ranks follow a separate progression path and cannot be ranked using God Runes. They require unique player achievements to unlock.

________________________________________________________________________________________

King read through the update as well as the note, the system was still trying to keep most of the power while making it look like it was in favor of the players, but the idea of the God Runes.

At the moment, he was certain no one possessed a single God Rune, the first God Runes came after the second woe. But then a thought came to his mind. What if using the 100x reward skill on quality with a regular rune turned it into a GOD RUNE? . That was one theory he couldn’t wait to try out.

The possibility alone, was mind blowing.

King was still lost in his thoughts when a private message notification appeared in the corner of his vision.

[Pantheon: 1 New Message]

King paused for a minute, then opened it.

[Pantheon: King. Good to see you made it through the First Woe. I was worried for a moment there when you hadn’t replied, then the rankings updated. Glad you’re still at the top where you belong.]

[Pantheon: I hope that you see reason in my suggestion.]
