One-Eyed Monster
Chapter 969 - 967: Fighting Alone (Part 1)
Boom! The white lightning collided with the yellow light ring, producing a deafening sound!
In that moment, Igor felt the clash between two powerful energies. This sensation was even more intense than the shockwave he had experienced before. The brilliant light from the collision of the two forces made it hard for him to keep his eyes open. Although Igor knew it was all a perception of consciousness, it felt as real as physical senses, and the feeling was unforgettable.
Igor thought, such an intense confrontation should be able to injure this Soul Devourer Master, right? This must be considered Sol’s trump card. He then turned his head and asked the Mos Brothers: "Shouldn’t there be a winner by now?"
The Mos Brother shrugged: "Only the alliance leader has battled this Soul Devourer Master before, but looking at the leader now, it seems the fight isn’t over yet."
"Yes, this is our first time facing this Soul Devourer Master, and now it seems the alliance leader’s caution is justified!"
After hearing this, Igor realized that the disparity in strength was a hard hurdle. Not everyone could face the Soul Devourer Master in this Border Realm easily. Now he understood why the skull knight was so cautious of his master before. That skull knight was still terrified to the point of losing consciousness... The energy of this Soul Devourer Master was truly terrifyingly powerful.
In a moment, Igor saw the Soul Devourer Master stand up again at the spot where the two energies had collided. He looked ordinary, but the yellow light ring surrounding him was falling off in pieces, clearly shattered by Sol’s white lightning.
"You say I am wrong, but where am I wrong?" The Soul Devourer Master didn’t immediately retaliate; instead, he seemed very concerned about Sol’s previous words. It was as if, among these masters, the verbal exchange was more important than anything else.
"He is not what you think; that’s where you are wrong."
"Words can deceive, appearances can deceive, but energy fluctuations do not deceive. Even if he has energy fluctuations similar to yours, he is still the Agent of Destruction who was teleported there over a decade ago, a convergence of various energies!" the Soul Devourer Master said excitedly.
"No, he’s not. He’s just Igor!" Sol retorted, "Even if he was that monster you speak of, I have decided we will protect him!"
This was similar in spirit to Igor’s earlier statement, "Even if you really are Sol, I’d still attack you!" This left the Soul Devourer Master puzzled. He looked at Sol and the others with confusion and asked, "Is this emotion that important to you?"
"It’s not just important; it’s a part of our lives. Without emotions, what meaning would life hold?"
"I don’t know, I only know we must conquer. You are all ants, all insect worms. No matter what, I must awaken him, return him to his former blue-skinned form, the culmination of power that cannot be hidden."
"I told you, he’s not the monster you’re looking for!" Sol was tired of talking and directly unleashed another burst of white lightning.
The Soul Devourer Master raised his hand, quickly drawing a circle in front of him, and then the white lightning vanished with a pop.
"I’ve learned your teleportation!" the Soul Devourer Master said, then extended another hand to draw a circle.
Suddenly, from that circle emerged a ball of white lightning, which flew straight towards Sol!
This scene left Igor and the rest stunned. Was this white lightning going to attack Sol? In an instant, it turned into Sol attacking himself.
How could this be? Just how strong is this Soul Devourer Master?
However, things didn’t unfold as Igor feared. Although the white lightning flew straight at Sol, it stopped abruptly just before reaching him, then with a pop, it spread out in all directions before returning to the lightning armor covering Sol’s body.
"This..." Igor was astounded.
"My lightning knows me and will only strike those it should, not anyone else." Sol formed an orb of lightning in his palm, this time not white but yellow like a bolt.
"I don’t have time to play with you. I want the Agent of Destruction. His mission is to open the Teleportation Portal, allowing more monsters into your world, leading to its total destruction!"
"I told you, you’ve got it wrong!" The speed of the bolt was even faster than the white lightning, striking towards the Soul Devourer Master with a crack!
The bolt was so fast that the Soul Devourer Master had no time to draw a teleportation circle. Without the yellow energy shield, he quickly shifted to the side to avoid the bolt’s attack!
Igor was listening closely from the side. The Soul Devourer Master thought he was the Agent of Destruction and said he should have blue skin. He figured this was ridiculous; he was no Agent of Destruction, nor did he have any blue skin...
Wait, blue skin, could he be referring to Kadi?
Igor suddenly broke out in a cold sweat. Everything Sol had told him before suddenly connected with the current situation.
Could it be, Kadi was the Agent of Destruction the Soul Devourer Master was talking about, teleported to Yowein Continent? Sol had mentioned a powerful blue-skinned monster teleported onto Guru Mountain... Could this be the great secret of Guru Mountain?
Igor dared not think further. Now that Sol and the Soul Devourer Master were in the midst of battle, they could only stand guard and protect themselves, as they were unable to help. If they tried, they would only mess things up due to the significant power gap. They couldn’t keep up with the pace and would only disrupt Sol’s rhythm.
"Move aside!" The Soul Devourer Master waved his hand, sending thousands of arrows flying towards Sol. However, Sol remained calm; his lightning formed a wall, forcibly blocking the arrows.
Rumble!
The battle between these two caused an uproar in the entire Border Realm, the clash of energies sending shockwaves throughout.
"I’ve waited so many years, finally, I’ve waited for this day. The next moment you will all be annihilated. Hand over the Agent of Destruction, and I can let your consciousness remain. Whatever kind of shell you want, I can give it to you!" The Soul Devourer Master began proposing terms to Sol, evidently, Sol’s power had stalled him, preventing him from easily approaching Igor.
As for Igor, he finally understood: the Soul Devourer Master definitely mistook him for Kadi!
The only thing he couldn’t understand was, despite the vast difference in appearance between him and Kadi, how could this Soul Devourer Master be so blind as to mix them up? How could he mistake them? He couldn’t fathom what in him was related to Kadi, they were entirely different beings!
