One Piece: Alucard the Immortal
Chapter 631 - 630: Only a Rookie Would Fall for That
Alucard’s body slowly slumped over. As he fell, it felt like a heavy hammer striking the hearts of the newer members of the Immortal Pirates.
Is the legend of Alucard’s immortality truly ending here, just as Kong said?
Aranea, Cavendish, and Bonney, those who had joined later, all felt a pang of doubt. Kong was indeed a veteran from the era of Roger; he knew exactly how to use a few words to rattle the younger generation.
However, Hancock, Ivalis, and Stragus looked at Kong with nothing but disdain.
"That kind of talk might trick the greenhorns who just started their careers, but if you think you can pull one over on the veterans, you’re dreaming."
"Heh... hehe... Hahahaha!"
Alucard, lying on the ground, suddenly burst into laughter. He raised his right hand and opened fire with his white pistol, Casull. Kong was prepared; his massive frame moved at high speed, dodging every bullet with practiced ease.
"Impressive. I thought your old age might have made you sluggish."
Alucard stood up, the hole in his chest still gaping and gruesome. Even the hardened soldiers present found it hard to look at. It was too bloody and defied all logic.
"I told you, today I end your legend."
When Kong stopped, he was over half a mile away, his eyes cold and his fists clenched, radiating confidence.
Whistle—
Alucard pursed his lips and blew a long whistle, then smirked. He didn’t bother explaining himself to anyone and simply unleashed another volley of gunfire.
Kong dodged while extending his fingers. He had no gun, but he had Shigan.
"Rokushiki Secret Technique: Unmoving Chaos Strike!"
Kong’s hands became a blur, unleashing a barrage of finger-pistol strikes with destructive power rivaling Casull’s bullets. They peppered Alucard, riddling his newly healed body with holes once again.
Yet Alucard stood his ground. He didn’t dodge, and he didn’t defend. Soon, the blood flowing from his wounds stained most of his body.
"I thought they said he wasn’t immortal? He’s not even dodging. Was the Commander-in-Chief just lying to boost our morale?"
Seeing Alucard stand unfazed after taking so much damage, the Government soldiers began to doubt Kong’s words again. If he wasn’t immortal, why would he ignore such attacks? It was too bizarre.
"You useless lot, why are you standing around?!"
Hancock stood atop her pet, Salome, looking down on the crowd. "The battle is still going!"
Leading by example, Hancock unleashed her own power. From her back, a pool of blood, identical to Alucard’s, erupted, transforming into dark red pythons that lunged at the surrounding enemies.
"AAAAHH!!"
"What kind of technique is this?!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bullets flew into the dark shadows but passed right through. The Government troops were horrified. "H-How? Boa Hancock is a Devil Fruit user! Why aren’t bullets working on her?"
"Devil Fruit user?" Hancock brushed her bangs aside. "Don’t be ridiculous. The power Master bestowed upon me is far greater than any ’ability.’"
Step.
Suddenly, a woman wearing a Marine mantle with silver-trimmed sleeves stepped forward. "Boa Hancock, how about I be your opponent?"
"And who might you be?" Hancock stood proudly, pointing down at her in her trademark haughty fashion.
"Hehe." The woman smiled faintly, then her face contorted as her body expanded rapidly into a massive, clawed water dragon!
Due to the sheer size difference, Hancock went from "looking down" to being "looked down upon." She looked up at the beast and said flatly, "Zoan: Ancient Mythical Type. Flood Dragon Fruit." [1]
Hancock dropped from Salome’s head. "To think I’d find the Devil Fruit the Kuja have been searching for right here."
"Jealous? The fruit the Kuja craved fell into the hands of the Government." After transforming, the woman’s voice became sharp and raspy.
"Arrogant fool." Hancock’s disdain only deepened. She leaned her slender waist back ninety degrees, pointing a finger at the Flood Dragon user. "I told you, the power Master gave me surpasses all ’abilities.’"
Hancock’s eyes turned entirely red, glowing with an internal light. The blood pool rose from the ground, taking on the appearance of flickering flames.
"That’s... just like Alucard-sama’s..." Aranea, flying above, looked at Hancock’s vampire state in shock.
Whoosh!
In an instant, Hancock became a blur. Before the Flood Dragon user could react, Hancock appeared behind her and delivered a savage kick to the dragon’s fangs.
BOOM!!
The massive body was sent flying, crashing into the base walls with even more force than Marigold or Sandersonia could manage.
"Vice Admiral Tiraya was blown away in an instant!"
"What a terrifying woman, the Pirate Empress Boa Hancock!"
The Government soldiers were stunned.
"Boa... Hancock..." Tiraya propped herself up, her smile gone. She glared at Hancock as her wounds began to knit together. As an Awakened Zoan, she possessed recovery speeds far beyond normal users.
Meanwhile, the battle between Alucard and Kong raged on. No matter how many times Kong destroyed Alucard’s heart, the pirate continued his assault as if nothing had happened, causing the Government’s morale to dip once more.
[1] The raw says 潜蛟 (qián jiāo) which means Hidden/Submerge (潜) Flood Dragon (蛟). In china, Jiao is a mythical, aquatic, scaly creature in folklore, often described as a hornless, snake-like dragon associated with rain, storms, and floods.
