Chapter 475: Chapter 475: Myth, Father and Son, and the Broken King

Thump-thump, thump-thump.

The heartbeat reached another person’s ears. Kuma’s massive body still lay in the muddy water. Struggling to lift his head, his gaze pierced through the swirling dust to lock onto the completely white youth.

Tears flowed from Kuma’s eyes without warning. He couldn’t control them. As a survivor of the Buccaneer race. As the former King of the Sorbet Kingdom. He had grown up listening to the elders tell that legend. The white warrior who would appear when people were in the utmost despair and agony, who would beat the Drums of Liberation and save everyone from their suffering.

The Sun God Nika.

Kuma silently repeated the name in his heart. He had once thought it was merely an ethereal myth, a spiritual crutch for the desperate to numb themselves. But now, that myth was standing alive right before his eyes. Right here, on the ruins of an alternate world, beating that ancient war drum.

Meruem shot up into the sky from the lake water. Green blood mixed with lake water dripped from his broken scales. His originally utterly cold face was now twisted beyond recognition. His jaw, stretched long by Luffy, hadn’t completely retracted, giving him a comically horrifying appearance. Yet the Nen erupting from him was even more terrifying than before. The lake water was displaced directly by this Nen, forming a massive vacuum zone.

Meruem felt an unprecedented humiliation. He was the King. Born to rule at the apex of all living creatures. And now he was actually being beaten like a rubber ball by a white-haired monkey. This made him suffer worse than death. The membranous wings on his back flapped violently, the air emitting an ear-piercing sonic boom. Transforming into a sickly green shooting star, he headed straight for Luffy.

On the ruins’ side, Dragon spat out a mouthful of bloody saliva. He forced his body upright despite his broken ribs. The purple Rinnegan glowed faintly once more. Although severely physically exhausted, he had no intention of just standing there watching his son fight for his life alone.

"Ivan, look after Kuma and those two brats," Dragon tossed over his shoulder as the ground beneath his feet shattered violently. Armament Haki once again covered his entire body, the black and red Ryuo flowing over his fists. He charged head-on toward Meruem.

"Bansho Ten’in!" Dragon spread his five fingers in mid-air, a massive attractive force locking directly onto the high-speed moving Ant King.

Meruem’s figure jerked abruptly. The feeling of being forcibly pulled made him extremely irritated. But he didn’t slow down; instead, he used the gravitational pull to accelerate even faster. The deformed, eyeball-covered giant left arm was raised high. Furious white Nen compressed into a dazzling orb of light in his palm. He wanted to blow Dragon and that white-haired brat into ashes together.

Luffy was still bouncing in place. Seeing Meruem and Dragon charging over, he laughed even happier.

"Are you joining the game too, old man?!" Luffy shouted, plunging his hands directly into the ground. White mist spread down his arms into the earth. Within a radius of several hundred meters, the ruins turned into squishy rubber once again.

Hearing "old man" in mid-air, the corner of Dragon’s mouth twitched uncontrollably. This kid still hadn’t recognized his own biological father. But now wasn’t the time to quibble over that. Meruem’s Nen orb was already crashing down. The destructive energy was enough to wipe this entire area entirely flat.

Dragon took a deep breath, the ripples of his Rinnegan contracting violently. "Shinra Tensei!"

Repulsive force erupted outwards from Dragon, meeting the Nen orb head-on. Two entirely different high-dimensional energies madly compressed against each other in mid-air. The air tore apart into visible black fissures. Blood trickled from the corner of Dragon’s mouth; he couldn’t hold on much longer. The amount of Nen the Ant King had gained after devouring the Royal Guards was simply too massive.

Just as the orb of light was about to crush the defense of Shinra Tensei... Luffy moved. Grabbing the rubberized ground, he flipped it upwards with all his might. It was like pulling up a massive trampoline. The Nen orb engaged in a death struggle with Shinra Tensei was caught directly by this rubber sheet of earth.

Meruem froze. He watched as his proudly destructive attack bounced twice on the rubber earth, then slid limply to the side like a deflated ball. It didn’t even make a splash.

"What the hell kind of ability is this!?" Meruem finally couldn’t hold back a roar. His proud combat logic had been rubbed into the dirt until not even dust remained.

Luffy didn’t care what the Ant King was thinking. Riding the flipped-up earth, he bounded right above Meruem’s head. "Gum-Gum..." Luffy spread his arms in mid-air, his body spinning wildly. His white hair danced wildly in the wind, the heartbeat of the Drums of Liberation deafening. "Pinwheel!"

His two legs transformed into two massive propellers, crashing toward the Ant King’s head with the sound of tearing air.

Gritting his teeth, Meruem raised his crossed arms above his head. The materialized Nen shield surfaced once more. He refused to believe this kid’s physical attacks could ignore Nen defenses forever.

At that exact moment, Dragon seized the opportunity below. He knew very well that although Luffy’s current state was bizarre, it lacked the penetrative power for a one-hit kill. To deal with a monster like the Ant King, all power had to be concentrated on a single point.

Dragon’s hands wove seals rapidly, squeezing his Chakra to the absolute limit. "Chibaku Tensei!"

Rather than throwing the gravitational core into the sky, he slammed the black sphere directly into the ground beneath Meruem’s feet. A violent suction force erupted. But this time, it bypassed the surrounding rocks and locked firmly onto Meruem’s legs.

The Ant King felt as if his lower half was welded into the earth’s crust. That suppression of gravitational laws left him completely unable to move.

"Damn it!" Meruem cursed, desperately urging his Nen to break free. But the Nen shield above his head had already been cracked by Luffy’s Pinwheel. Luffy’s attacks were utterly unreasonable. With every kick, the Nen shield became more like fragile glass.

Dragon didn’t halt his movements. The black and red Ryuo on his right fist compressed to the limit. His entire arm oozed beads of blood, unable to bear the strain of the power. Pushing off his legs violently, he turned into a black lightning bolt charging straight into the clouds.

"Dragon Claw: Secret Technique: Star Crusher!"

Dragon’s fist shot upward from below, smashing viciously into Meruem’s abdomen. This punch not only contained the highest-tier Internal Destruction Haki of the One Piece world but also fused with the destructive attributes of the Six Paths power from the Naruto world.

Meruem’s indestructible body finally let out the sound of overwhelmed shattering. Green blood sprayed wildly. He felt his internal organs churned into mincemeat under this punch. The high-tier Ryuo’s Internal Destruction had directly obliterated his proud regenerative abilities.

The defense was broken. Up above, Luffy laughed carelessly. "Old man, nice teamwork!"

Luffy stopped spinning. In mid-air, he took a deep breath, his chest puffing out high. His right fist expanded once again, turning into a white giant fist several times larger than before. The Conqueror’s lightning winding around it was as dense as a net of thunder. "Gum-Gum..."

For a moment, Luffy’s eyes became surprisingly serious. Though a smile still hung on his face, that kingly Haki was unleashed without any reservation.

"Red Roc: White Star!"

The massive white fist, carrying the high-temperature flames generated from air friction, crashed down violently.

Meruem looked up. He stared at that sky-blotting fist. For the first time, his compound eyes lost their lofty arrogance. He finally understood. He wasn’t facing a slightly larger ant. He was facing an utterly unreasonable freak.

Rumble!

The white giant fist solidly smashed into Meruem’s face. Below, Dragon exerted his force simultaneously, completely detonating the Ryuo on his fist. A pincer attack from above and below. Two entirely different destructive powers violently collided within the Ant King’s body.

The land of the NGL Autonomous Region could no longer withstand this level of devastation. The entire tectonic plate let out a mournful wail, snapping directly down the middle. Blinding white light swallowed everything around them. The violent shockwave sheared several mountaintops off the distant mountain ranges.

Kuma propped up his ruined body, using his last bit of strength to deploy a small Soten Kisshun, shielding Ivankov, Ace, and Sabo behind him. The three youths stared at the apocalyptic destruction before them, forgetting to even breathe.

This was a true pinnacle showdown.

The light faded. The sky full of dust gradually settled. The once-pristine forest had been turned into a bottomless, massive basin. In the center of the basin, Dragon rested on one knee, gasping heavily. His right arm hung limply at his side, blood dripping from his fingertips into the dirt. His physical stamina was so depleted it took effort just to stand. But as he looked ahead, the corner of his mouth pulled into an extremely gratified arc.

On the ground not far away, Meruem lay paralyzed like a puddle of mud. That perfect body, fused with the genetics of the Royal Guards, was completely shattered. His limbs were twisted into impossible angles. A large chunk of his chest had caved in, and green blood spilled across the ground. Those once unexcelled compound eyes had now completely lost their focus. The aura of life was rapidly draining from the body of the Chimera Ant King.

He had lost. He had lost completely and utterly.

Luffy fell from the sky. He had already exited his Gear 5 Nika Form while still in mid-air. His white hair had reverted to black, and he deflated like a leaky balloon. With a smack, he landed right next to Dragon.

"I’m starving to death..." Luffy’s eyes were closed, still muttering about eating meat in his sleep.
