Shiki's face turned a sickening shade of iron-blue. He was the grand Pirate Admiral of the Golden Lion Pirates! He walked sideways across the entirety of the New World! Yet here he was, being publicly referred to as 'blond guy' by a Marine. He tightened his grip on his two famous swords, Oto and Kogarashi. Pushing the power of the Float-Float Fruit to its absolute limit, he prepared to use Shishi Odoshi: Gosho Chijaki to bury Garp alive under the earth.
But his gaze flickered to the three collapsed mountains in the distance. The three massive craters pierced by Newgate's body stared back at him like the dead, unblinking eyes of a corpse. Shiki forcefully swallowed the murderous intent rising in his throat. He didn't dare to gamble. If Garp had aimed that punch at the sky, whether his Float-Float Fruit could have stopped it was entirely up in the air.
Seeing Shiki bite his tongue, Garp smirked. He shifted his gaze to Charlotte Linlin. "Linlin. Didn't you say you wanted a taste of my soul earlier? I'm standing right here. Come on over and take a bite."
Charlotte Linlin was trembling from head to toe. The thundercloud Zeus rumbling above her head let out a low groan, while the sun Prometheus flared with raging flames. She was a natural-born destroyer! From the day she was born, no one had ever dared to humiliate her like this. But taking one look at Garp's mocking face, the primal, instinctive fear in her heart ruthlessly crushed the billowing fury in her chest. She could feel it in her bones. If she charged at him, she would absolutely end up in the same state as Newgate, if not worse. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Roger hopped down from the wall. Carrying his sword, he casually strolled over to Garp and circled him twice, sizing up his old rival from head to toe as if examining an alien. "Seriously, Garp, what kind of wrong medicine did you swallow today? Your muscles are way too ridiculously hard."
Garp swatted the tip of Roger's sword away. Lifting his chin, he looked down his nose at the future Pirate King. "Don't try to cozy up to me, Roger. I didn't come to God Valley today to play house with you. Once I'm done cleaning up Rocks' subordinates—you're next."
Roger curled his lip, resting the Supreme Grade Sword Ace casually on his shoulder. "You sure are arrogant, you old dog. But Newgate isn't going to die that easily. Your punch just now, at best, broke a few of his ribs."
Before his words could hit the dirt, a violent coughing fit echoed from the ruins of the pierced mountain. Huge chunks of rock were launched into the air by a massive surge of force. The rubble detonated mid-air, raining dust and debris in all directions.
The young Edward Newgate walked out from the blinding cloud of dust. His bare chest was riddled with abrasions and smeared with blood. He had tossed his Supreme Grade Sword Murakumogiri aside. The webbing between his thumbs and forefingers was split wide open, blood dripping rhythmically from his fingertips onto the scorched earth.
Newgate's face was so grim it looked like it could drip water. His signature crescent-shaped mustache quivered faintly with unadulterated rage. "You really are strong. In terms of pure physical strength... I admit defeat."
In the very next second, his voice pitched into a deafening roar, every syllable grinding through his clenched teeth. "BUT I AM WHITEBEARD!"
Newgate unleashed a bestial howl. He slammed down into a deep horse stance. The muscles in his arms swelled up yet another size, the thick veins bulging visibly against his tanned skin. With devastating force, he slammed both of his massive fists into the empty air beside him.
Crack!
The crisp sound of shattering glass reverberated across the sky. Visible, white fault lines ruptured in the very fabric of the air where his fists connected. The cracks spread frantically outward like a spiderweb. He had triggered the full, unbridled might of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit.
The entire landmass of God Valley let out an agonizing groan. A violent seismic wave erupted outward from Newgate's position. The ground rolled and pitched like ocean waves, and countless bottomless chasms tore the battlefield apart. Pirates and Marines alike screamed in terror, their limbs going weak as they collapsed, completely unable to find their footing.
The smile entirely vanished from Roger's face. He tightened his grip on his sword. "Now we're in trouble. Newgate is getting serious. His tremor powers can capsize this entire island."
Up in the air, the Golden Lion Shiki finally found a sliver of his bravado. Spitting out a mouthful of bloody saliva, he shrieked, "Newgate! Shatter that arrogant Marine into pieces along with this island!"
Big Mom, Charlotte Linlin, also let out a shrill, shrieking laugh. "That's it, Newgate! Show him the terror of the Rocks Pirates!"
The tsunami of seismic force howled as it barreled toward him. The earth beneath their feet fractured violently, the entire island shuddering in protest. Garp stood perfectly still in his original spot, not budging an inch. Watching Newgate shatter the air, his smirk stretched from ear to ear once again. "Playing with tremors? Newgate, your technique is still a long way off."
Garp slowly raised his right hand. The Perfected Tremor-Tremor Fruit. It possessed zero side effects. It didn't drain a single drop of his life force. A god-tier cheat with its destructive output permanently dialed to the maximum.
Garp channeled his Sage Body Chakra straight into his right arm. A sphere of blinding white light rapidly condensed around his fist. The glow was a hundred times brighter than the tremor halo Newgate had manifested. The sheer expansion of the white light caused the surrounding air to emit a piercing, shrill hiss.
Garp took a deep breath. Facing the island-rending seismic wave head-on, he punched straight into the empty void in front of him. "Fist Bone: Great Atmospheric Quake!"
CRACK!
A shattering noise ten times louder than the previous one detonated. The space directly in front of Garp's fist instantly collapsed inward, forming a massive, pitch-black void suspended mid-air. Densely packed white fractures spiderwebbed outward from the void in a frantic, fan-shaped spread, weaving a net that seemed to cover the very dome of the sky.
The two vastly different seismic forces violently collided in the center of God Valley. There was no fiery explosion. There was only the purest form of physical destruction. The atmospheric pressure was compacted by the two forces into a tangible, solid wall. And in less than half a second, that wall entirely collapsed. Pulverized. Annihilated.
The moment Newgate's prideful seismic wave made contact with Garp's power, it was like a sea spray crashing against a jagged reef—it was completely and utterly obliterated. Meanwhile, Garp's tremor wave lost zero momentum. It roared back with world-crushing devastation. The earth along its path was peeled back layer by layer. Boulders, ancient trees, and even the corpses of pirates who hadn't managed to flee in time were instantly reduced to fine dust inside the vibrating field.
Newgate's eyes practically bugged out of his skull. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. That Marine was actually wielding the power of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit! And the potency was horrifyingly superior to his own! The attack didn't just carry the destructive force of tremors; it was laced with a vast, boundless vitality that he simply couldn't comprehend.
Newgate desperately tried to channel more power into his defenses. But he was too late. Garp's seismic wave slammed squarely into his chest.
A sickening chain of bone-shattering crunches erupted from Newgate's towering frame. His sternum visibly caved in. A massive mouthful of blood, speckled with fragments of ruptured organs, sprayed from his lips. Once again, he was sent flying backward like a kite with its string cut.
This time, he didn't crash through any mountains. His previous tremors had already leveled the mountains behind him into a flat plain. Newgate tumbled uncontrollably across the ground for hundreds of meters, carving a gruesome, bloody trench into the earth. Finally, he sprawled out spread-eagle in the rubble. His eyes rolled into the back of his head. He was completely out cold.
The entire battlefield of God Valley descended into a deathly stillness. Even the artillery fire ceased. Everyone—the pirates, the Marines, and the surviving grunts—stared blankly at the Marine commander who still maintained his punching posture.
With a dull clatter, the Supreme Grade Sword Ace slipped from Roger's grasp and fell to the dirt. His mouth hung open, unable to close for a long time. He looked at Newgate, slumped in a pool of his own blood, and then looked back at Garp's fist, which was still glowing with that faint white light.
"You..." "Just what kind of monster are you?" "That was Newgate's power, wasn't it?" "How the hell did you steal his Devil Fruit?"
Garp retracted his fist, smugly blowing away the residual white smoke curling from his knuckles. "'Steal'?" "Watch your mouth, Roger." "I bought this fair and square with cold, hard cash." "Two hundred million Beri, to be exact." "Do you have any idea how much weight that carries?"
Floating mid-air, the Golden Lion Shiki was completely stupefied. His highly prized intellect totally crashed in that moment. A Marine Hero. He sent Whitebeard flying with a single punch without even using Haki. And then he used the man's own power to beat him half to death. What the hell was wrong with this world? Had he just been sleepwalking for the last two days? Was this a nightmare?
Shiki fiercely pinched his own thigh, wincing at the sharp pain. It wasn't a dream. That bastard Garp had genuinely mutated into a completely unreasonable monster. Shiki quietly nudged his Float-Float Fruit, inching his flight elevation several hundred meters higher. He was deathly afraid that if Garp got annoyed, he would casually swat him out of the sky too.
Big Mom, Charlotte Linlin, felt her legs turn to jelly. She plopped onto her backside, tossing the Napoleon sword aside. Her mind was entirely consumed by a singular thought: I want to go back to Totto Land and eat sweets. God Valley was no place for a sane person to be.
Sengoku stood atop a broken wall in the rear. Watching Garp flex his godly might, Sengoku was grinning so wide his back molars were showing. "So satisfying!" "Too damn satisfying!" "This money was well fucking spent!"
Right now, Sengoku's only regret was that he hadn't brought a visual Den Den Mushi. If he could have recorded the footage of Garp viciously bullying Whitebeard and played it for the new recruits back at Headquarters, the Marine enlistment rate would absolutely double overnight.
