Chapter 353: Death of Yasopp

A violent shockwave burst from the point of impact, sweeping across the whole island.

Shanks was blown back instantly, retreating in a flash.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of gunshots rang out as Yasopp and Beckman fired several shots in rapid succession. The bullets, coated with Haki, streaked forward like beams of light, aiming for Sakazuki’s vital points.

Sakazuki watched the incoming bullets with a calm expression.

"Magma Burst."

His body heated up rapidly, turning red, and the next second, the entire island felt like a burning hell. An explosive force several times stronger than the previous clash erupted as waves of magma surged outward. The bullets suddenly stalled, then were blasted backward by the impact.

All the buildings on the island were reduced to ruins in an instant, engulfed in burning magma.

Sakazuki’s figure reformed at the center.

Just then, a warning flared in his mind. He tilted his neck slightly to the side, drove his right elbow backward, and reached out with his hand.

Bang!

His elbow slammed firmly into Shanks behind him, and the hand that was originally aimed at his wrist shifted, instead grabbing onto the blade of Gryphon.

A drop of blood slid from the tip of the sword and fell into the magma below.

Sizzle!

It evaporated immediately.

A thin cut appeared on Sakazuki’s neck, and a trace of blood slowly flowed out.

"Observation killing." His tone grew more serious.

Unless one experienced it firsthand, it was impossible to understand how terrifying that ability was...

Even with the entire island covered in magma from the explosion, he had not sensed Shanks’ presence at all.

Shanks’ expression also turned serious. "So you blocked it."

To be honest, there were very few in the Marines who could resist his Observation Killing ability, yet he had run into several of them.

Enel, Bullet, and now Sakazuki. Either they countered it directly, or they were simply strong enough to ignore it...

Sakazuki’s eyes sharpened as his right hand, coated in Haki, tightened around Gryphon. He yanked forward and slammed down.

Shanks’ body twisted uncontrollably, but his leg moved at the same instant, kicking toward Sakazuki’s chest.

Sakazuki raised his left fist and struck.

Bang!

His punch collided with the incoming kick, and a burst of force exploded outward. With both arms exerting strength, Shanks was smashed down toward the ground.

Boom!

The earth trembled.

Sakazuki’s left arm turned into magma, black smoke billowing as it rapidly expanded.

Bang!

A large hole suddenly appeared in his chest.

In the distance, Yasopp and Beckman fired at the exact same moment. Their bullets twisted together as they flew, piercing straight through his chest in an instant.

Sakazuki glanced at the gaping hole, and his body suddenly warped and expanded irregularly.

Shanks’ pupils shrank. He exerted force and broke free from Sakazuki’s grip, shouting toward Yasopp and Beckman, "Don’t stay on the ground!"

Gryphon, wrapped in lightning, stabbed directly into Sakazuki’s body.

But the soft, yielding sensation made Shanks’ heart sink. The real body was already gone.

Rip!

With a twist of the blade, the fake body split apart instantly.

Simultaneously, compressed magma expanded violently outward, and thick waves of molten lava surged like a tidal wave, crashing down over the island.

Rumble!

The eruption seemed endless as it swallowed the entire island and continued pouring into the sea.

Aside from the core members of the Red Hair Pirates, not a single person survived. The island was wiped clean...

The crew spread out in the air, standing on compressed air with grim expressions. There was simply no way to block such an attack. It was completely unreasonable...

Yasopp pushed his Observation Haki to the limit and abruptly turned his head.

"Eleven o’clock direction!!!"

No one hesitated.

Sound waves roared as Armament-coated bullets, slashes, and attacks all blasted toward the harbor at once.

At the harbor, the magma that had just begun to take shape was instantly shattered.

Then a streak of light flashed.

A massive sword slash crushed everything in its path. The land of the harbor, along with the magma, vanished completely, leaving behind a huge crescent-shaped gap as seawater rushed in endlessly...

Yasopp turned his head again, looking to the side. "Three—"

He had barely spoken a single word when a sense of death gripped him. He tilted his head sharply.

Whoosh!

A magma hound tore through the air, grazing past his ear. After passing him, the magma hound expanded and solidified, and Sakazuki’s figure appeared behind him, looking at him as if he were already dead.

His pitch-black hand reached straight for Yasopp’s throat.

A red flash flickered at the corner of his eye.

Clang!

Shanks appeared behind Yasopp at incredible speed, almost like teleportation, and blocked the incoming hand with Gryphon.

Meanwhile, Yasopp did not pause. He turned into a streak of light and retreated back to the group, still shaken.

Sakazuki frowned slightly. "Troublesome."

Shanks’ expression was stern. "I should be the one saying that."

Crackle!

Red lightning burst violently from Gryphon, clashing against the Conqueror’s Haki coating on Sakazuki’s hand.

At some point, the sky had turned completely crimson, as if it were burning.

Boom!!!!

A massive mushroom cloud erupted, and a white shockwave spread outward as both of them were sent flying back.

At that moment, the reason for the crimson sky became clear to everyone.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Countless magma fists pierced through the clouds and rained down upon the sea.

The Meteor Volcano Sakazuki had launched before arriving had finally reached the battlefield.

Shanks was pushed back into the group. He stepped hard in the air to stabilize himself, then looked up.

He drew Gryphon back to his side, spun, and shot upward into the sky. With a sweeping slash, a rotating red arc cut through the falling magma fists, surging into the clouds and exploding outward.

The crimson clouds were torn apart, and the falling magma fists slowed, then were sliced into fragments, dropping weakly like a rain of fire.

But Sakazuki had disappeared.

The one who had been blown away earlier had turned into lifeless magma and fallen into the sea. His real body was nowhere to be seen.

The Red Hair Pirates did not relax. They scanned the surroundings, trying to locate him.

A broken chunk of magma, trailing black smoke, fell from the sky into the middle of the group.

Several pirates with strong Observation Haki reacted instantly, staring at it in horror, their thoughts freezing.

Everyone’s movements seemed slow, painfully visible. But the magma chunk expanded far too quickly to stop.

Sakazuki’s figure formed before their eyes.

"Magma Burst."

His calm voice echoed beside them as an overwhelming volcanic force erupted outward, and the people in midair had no way to resist.

Everyone was blown apart.

As the explosion scattered them, a pitch-black hand shot out and grabbed Yasopp by the throat, one of the strongest among them in Observation Haki.

No one could help. Their bodies were thrown away uncontrollably by the shockwave.

Crack!

Bone and flesh at Yasopp’s neck burst into a cloud of blood, and a head flew into the sky.
